I watched this video at least six times until I was brave enough to get my book out and I did page by page with you. I put you on pause while we were ripping pages and I was shaking! How silly, it's just paper. Thanks for your guidance and your calming voice to get me through this. Thanks for all the videos and sharing your knowledge with us! 😘

We are told our entires lives NOT to tear pages out of books or to tear up anything to do with a book! It took me a minute, too, to get over it! 😁❤️
Finally! Someone who is doing this altered book project in a methodical and well thought out way. Thank you Barbara. Now... I completely understand the reason behind using a glued spine book, but I think it’s important to mention that if someone wants to use the book as an art journal in which they will use wet media, the glued binding will eventually break down. I always buy the sewn binding and remove pages in the middle of the signatures. It is very hard and tedious work and you do have to be extra careful not to put too much stress on the thread, but with patience it can be done. This last book I am going to make into an altered book was very unusual. You would think each signature will have the same amount of pages. Mine didn’t. The number of pages in a signature varied from eight to fourteen. So when I tore out the pages I had to make sure I had the same amount of pages in each signature. Anyways, I am definitely going to use your method of making the pockets. I think this is going to be a ton of fun.

Thank you for listing the other playlists. I started watching with your thrift shop hunt last night and popped around to some of the others but they were a little hard to find. I'm enjoying gleaning tips from each of you. I stopped at a thrift shop earlier this evening and picked out a book. I'm falling asleep as I sit here or I would start folding and tearing out pages. So excited to start .

I am really enjoying seeing this process. I especially like that you are distressing the area where pages are sewn in. I feel it makes a big difference in the additional "aged look" for the book.

Yay! Uni has finished for the year last week so I can join in with you on this. I've missed my craft room and just being creative. I finally got my five items ready to send to my partner yesterday so its going to a wonderful creative summer. Thank you for the perfect timing of this series. I love how you're breaking it down. I love this project serie sweetie. I actually made a book like this, a journal I mean, following Gail's tutorial. That became my vacation journal. I loved working in it. Its sort of addictive making these so I will ma,e another one and I will craft along with you. 🥰😘😘😘

Thank you! Just use a glue stick to draw the half circle until you can get the punch 😊

Very cool! I really like to see how you do it_ I really love Gayle’s video but yours is more clear explaining on each every step from beginning to the end-adding the paper clips on each pages makes more sense where you are standing. Love it! I bought 2 reader’s digest book with lovely marbled on front along with libra sticker when you first open it. It has cute “aged” look. Off I go to get it started! 😍😍
