Natasha you are precious. In the moments I am watching and listening to you I am uplifted into that yummy realm of creativity. The worries of the world melt away. You are a gift. Thank you.
This is the book that threw me into the whole junk journaling world. By accident U Tube sent me the video of you first deconstructing and building this journal. My eccentric daughter wanted books without jackets that she wasn’t going to read but loved the raw spines being lined up and displayed on a shelf. I made her one and haven’t looked back. Thanks so much for being the gateway drug that brought me into this whole world!
Positive Healing Vibes and prayers for everyone in Ian's path! You can hear those tropical storm weather outside our place. So many books in the library end up on the free shelf, then if someone doesn't take them they are burned because they have outlived their use. I've gotten books from the library that have never been read to. I feel like we are saving these books I just wish I could take more. Be safe💕🐞 Namaste 🥰
I loved this flip through. Natasha, I love your humor! I was giggling through the video. 😊. I will rewatch the video of you making this. Love it! TFS! ❤️
Back you go little , with the little shorts. That cracked me up. Who here reading this remembers stubby shorts in Australia. Gosh they were awful 😂😂😂😂 This style of altered book , I just love. Great for storing all your favourite things for certain. Tfs . 💜🙏💜🙏
THAT is absolutely wonderful! I love all those pockets and pockets and pockets! All the do-dads here and there. And that missed-stitch on the zig-zag gold sheet is actually full of character. Adding the straight stitching makes it all look very purposeful. SO many ideas!! Thank you!
Devine Pocket Book. Positive Healing Vibes and prayers for everyone in Ian's path! You can hear those tropical storm weather outside our place. Be safe💕🐞 Namaste 🥰
Wow! Natasha, you were quite the free spirit in this video. I love it! I hope all is well. Keep “destroying” old books in this positive, creative, and most useful way!🎉💝
I think you’ve given new life to the meaning of ‘’pocket books’’! I love when you read the short inspirational quotes ! Congrats to Inspirational YOU!❤ 👍BFE
The skipped stitches make it so much better. They are charming, unique, quirky and make this an individual piece. Not destroyed book, its an altered book.
I know this video is old, but seriously!! I do have to stop watching your amazing videos. They are so informative and fun. I feel like I am sitting in your work room having a chat. I have 4 journals on the go....
Uneven torn pockets, love it...now I need to find a thrift shop and get a book like that to make a pocket book. THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO, no all of your videos are, treasures indeed :) ❤️
Simply ADORE your channel!! I am making four junk journals for Christmas gifts and constantly need inspiration. Your creations and ideas are truly helpful. I recently found a bunch of antique post cards at a flea market, some have handwritten notes and 1cent stamps!! So fun! ❤️ from the U.S. Edit: OK and now I need to buy loads of washi tape!! The fat cats had me 😄 🤣
I’ve been going through your videos again making sure I’ve watched each one. Well I happened to miss this one - I must say Natasa, you make me smile. You are a breath of fresh air as they say! Love you!
I adore the skipped stitches!!! It coaxes you into looking at it more carefully without impacting the splendor AT ALL. If I could figure out how to force my sewing machine to do that, I would!!!!!!
This is Beautiful! I'm a book lover too, But all those books that the library is throwing away does need to have a new life. When you give something new life then pass it on it does have another purpose. Nothing wrong with putting small gifts in the pockets. Thank You. Here's to wonderful wonderful you. Take care and be safe
I love this video as much as I loved the original one where you taught us how to do this. I'm hearing you about the love of birds. The older I get, I'm 60 today, the more sentimental I become and birds and bees are right up there. As someone who has worked in a library all my life, I can tell you that these days old books, especially the ones that don't get bought in the book sales end up being shredded. You/we really are preserving their lives. 🌷
What a hilarious commentary! Loved it. I copied your tutorial and have made my “ pocket book” and now with all your ideas I am inspired to fill each and every pocket. Thank u so much .
Great video with so many fabulous ideas. The reason you watched bees is you have a similar work ethic. You always come up with great content, keep busy creating concepts, and spread joy to others (the honey part). If they were hornets....stay away!!!
I really enjoyed this video. Such inspiration and so much fun while creating what you love. Have a super fantastic weekend, Natasha. Sending love and big hugs Sherry ❤
What a fun mood you were in doing this video. I always love seeing that side of you. I remember when you did this book originally for tags. You have turned it into a lovely Journal now. So full of ideas. You are a whiz
This was inspiring and hilarious. Please carry on with your book craft. The haters can save their indignation for people who ban and burn books. It's not like we have a book shortage on the planet, and none of us are destroying or censoring information. We are transforming one object into another. That's magic. 📚 🎨
Natasha … 1.) I watched your 1st altered pocket book tutorial & I still love making them! 🥳 I fill them up with goodies to share with crafty friends in happy mail. ♥️ 2.) I love your silliness in this video 😜!
(4:20) I love the idea of decoupaging napkins with glue mixed with brown watercolor. The very first dramatization piece about books and travel was awesome (a treasure I am always looking for in videos of creative people). (8:46) When I cut corners for tags, I should also glue those off-cuts to page corners (for either décor/cohesiveness or function of tuck spots).
Love, love, love what u did with this POOR UNREAD book. People will say what they want. It’s how we take it, and your answers to this comment - WERE DEAD ON. Good for u, Natasa. U go girl !! ❤❤ Darlene … I love how u say it - like it is.
Oh my gawd Natasha...you are hilarious!🤣 I love, love, love your videos...because they are informative and inspirational but mostly because you are so damn entertaining!! Good on you for trying to educate the naysayers about how we artist's give books a new life by repurposing them and saving them from the trash bin or an idle lonely life of sitting on the shelf of some dusty used book store, never to be read again! And a huge thank you for keeping me company while I create at my art table. Hibiscus Hugs to you dear lady💞🤗🌺🙋♀️
I love this book so much. I have several old books set aside to make altered books with but I never thought to just leave the text visible like that. For some reason, I thought it had to be hidden at all costs. I also love the different pockets. Seriously gonna be using this book as inspiration for a while. Thank you for being so amazingly sassy.
I love hearing all the details and you have a beautiful voice so it is also a “treasure” to listen to. Thank you! You have so many beautiful and creative ideas! I can’t wait until I can carve out the time to explore them more in my crafty space. 😃
Your comments are lovely! I can watch your videos just to hear your voice! But you stimulated me to start digging all my saved stuff and start gluing and folding. Thank you for the inspiration!
So fun to see how your book finished up. It’s funny I always say I am giving books a new life too- and many I save from going in the bin! Thank you for always inspiring ❤
Love this! And that your machine decided to have a little party of it's own. Mine likes to do that, too. Love your enthusiasm, Natasha, plus your expressions, that you say, so relaxing and entertaining. It's like having a cup of tea with a friend, while you are showing your latest project to us. Thank you for your explanation about giving the book(s) a second life, because it was never allowed/able to fulfill it's first life. That eases my mind. I don't get angry at those who use maps .and books this way, but I know it would be difficult for me to do so. That is, unless I were to find a book or atlas that was not constructed or printed correctly. That was a lucky find for you!
I’ve been wanting to make my own pocket folder book since I first saw the other video. Seeing yours filled puts the need for me to make it as soon as I finish with the 3-signature journal I’m making for my daughter. I love the zigzag stitch-straight stitch combo on the cover journaling spot card! 💝🧵💝✂️💝 Love your personality shining through in your videos!!! Thank you for being you!!! 💝
Natasa, this video made me smile the entire time I was watching it. I missed your original video, but now I'm going to have to watch it. I'm LOVING all these pockets. It's like going on a mini treasure hunt. So many wonderful, fun things to find as you search though each page. Thank you for sharing this video! It has gotten my muse very excited!! I too am a book lover, and what you've done to this book is beyond amazing. You've shown us how we can easily take a book that would probably have been thrown into the trash, and make it into a beautiful gift for a friend, a loved one or for ourselves.
More pockets, more fun…. That‘s true dear Natasa. I get many old books, only decorated outside. Now do I know what to do inside. I‘ll have fun. Thank you, with hugs from Germany 🙋🏼♀️ Sabine
I must say your washi tapes are the prettiest I've seen. I usually pass on washi and never use all that I have. Shame on me. Must embrace my washi and use it. Now I'm going to have to go to your video of how you made the pocketbook originally
You are so cute! Love your work. Thanks for letting us into your world and sharing your ideas. Always an inspiration and full of practical ideas and I appreciate the way you explain everything. Plus you are funny!
Absolutely loved this video. Not only are you creative but you explain everything with such ease and I loved your humour on this video. I am definitely going to be watching this video again. Well done for a brilliant video.
How beautiful love your pocketbook journal you definitely as always inspire me with your creativity. It amazes me how people judge you about a book, they think your destroying but, your not your creating something beautiful and I ask myself🤔 what are they doing to things we may not like. To those who judge Ms. Natasha, “Judge not, that you may not be judged. Keep creating Ms. Natasha don’t worry about what people say or think about a book. Thanks for sharing 🥳💕

Ripped washi tape -- I will certainly try that--- I like the look of that. I have created two books from your original video --but neither are completely finished yet...I'll get back to them today! Thank you for the inspiration.
What an enjoyable video! I love to see all the imaginative ideas you have! The final style of the book is so interesting that it invites a look-through! And yes, I love books very much too, as well as original journals! ☺️📚🧡
Thank you Natasa, I made this journal while dog & cat sitting for my son, because I loved the idea of using a discarded book. I wanted to use it as a memory journal, so all your ideas for journalling spots, tags, envelopes etc, using the pockets are a great help for me, as I’m just dipping my toe into this type of journalling. All your ideas are fabulous. Love listening to you ❤
Keep positive, Keep caring, Keep sharing. I made all the pockets from this book as single sheet examples and now it's time to find a book to start my own.
Wow. Love how sharp, clean, and spare it is. I've never thought to just leave the pages! Also, a great way to cut down on bulk (so important with altered books as you can burst the spine). Just wonderful. You're a wizard!
I cannot thank you enough for sharing this journal. I have been looking for a no sew way to make junk journals, and had not found one that would work for me. I am limited vision so sewing is not an option for me. I have 19 grandchildren , and want to make journals for the older girls 9 6 of them) for Christmas. This will work so well for me. I love all of your videos , but love this one the most. Many blessings to you for sharing your experience and talent.
Love it…and all those people who fuss about destroying books…they would be sick to see all the books in the landfills. I try to rescue any book I can to repurpose it into a useful craft🥰
