coryinthehouse Cory In The House is not anime more of a lousy live action sitcoms spinoff of That's So Raven from Disney Channel ( whom pointlessly and needlessly makes way too much sitcoms and should go to making new, great, creative and original cartoons like they used to such as Recess, DuckTales, House Of Mouse, DarkWing Duck, Gooftroop, TaleSpin, Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, Dave The Barbarian, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers and Gravity Falls and also need to Toon Disney back so it can replace Disney Channel and Disney XD in order for us to see more of it's cartoons and less of it's live action sitcoms and so that Disney will go to making creative, fresh, good and original cartoons like it used and be back in the cartoon making business).
Top 10 anime characters: 1. Chris Stuckmann 2. John Flickinger 3. Sam Liz 4. Screen Junkies 5. Christopher Nolan 6. David Fincher 7. Steven Spielberg 8. Tom Hanks 9. Leonardo DiCaprio 10. Chris's dogs
I wouldn't say it's great, but it's good, and suspenseful. I watched the entire 2011 run, and the story went all over the place, but it kept me engaged the whole way through, and the Meruem arc ending was memorable.
And Bee Movie one of the best anime deaths is featured in that film when Barry goes super Pollen and wipes Ray Liota out of existence so many great memeories of that film.
I have not seen a Disney movie since i was a child, so not every single adult watch them. And i am going to probably watch them when i have a kid just for them, to be a good dad. And some animes are extremely strange, they have some explicit porn that its VERY WEIRD, and the majority of them have that Naturo-Dragon Ball Z vibe where the plot is to kill the bad guys with light rays
Arturo Sánchez I watch Disney films myself and still love them. I just love animation in general. The purpose of that statement was to point out the irony of what I put in quotes. ^^
It is silly to judge an entire entertainment medium so narrowly,, but some just do it. It's like saying games are for kids or live action shows are for kids or whatever. There are some anime very much focused on small children. But there are also very serious shows for adults. It is an entire medium of entertainment and thus has a spectrum for various shows to fall onto. But some just see "oh animation, that's for kids" and never bother looking into it.
The subset of anime you're talking about (DBZ-like) frequently come from a comic magazine called Shounen Jump in Japan, or one similarly designed for young/teenage boys. For the most part they all have very similar themes of friendship, adventure of some type, and battle, so they tend to have very similar vibes to them. And yes, they tend to be good for young kids because that was the original intended audience. That's the thing people often don't realize about anime, there are a lot of genres and sub-genres just like any media; some are written for kids of various ages or genders, and some are very explicitly written for adults (with a section just being flat out pornography, as you noted). And there are a decent number that are interesting enough to a wide audience, just like PIXAR movies in the US tend to appeal to a wide audience. It's kind of sad that stigma and lack of information early on caused so many negative opinions to form about anime.
I really hate when people confuse the definition of Weeb. Weeb- To praise anime and Japanese culture to the point of being a psychopath. or should. say, psychopass. kill me if you just have an interest in anime it doesn't mean you're a weeb, you just have an interested in the art style and such. it's the same thing as being interested in movies
I think its just ignorant trolls baiting anime fans who get too personal with being called a weeb. Smart anime fans know they aren't weebs, because you can like and appreciate something and not be disillusioned with praising it and the culture over your own. Hell, I've been friends (note past tense) with idiots who would shit on weebs... That grew up watching and loving Toonami.
I feel bad for people who hate on anime. So much good shit. They don't realize it's just a medium. It's like if I said I hate American Movies because of a few bad films.
Also, some anime I'd like to recommend for Chris: -Gurren Lagann -Kill la Kill -One Punch Man -Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the third movie Rebellion -The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and its movie the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (mostly just to hear his thoughts on it) -Higurashi When They Cry (also includes Kai) -Code Geass -Azumanga Daioh -Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World -Konosuba (original title's too long)
Joel Iglesias Konosuba was a little funny albeit a little boring in the later episodes. They're definitely not comparable that's for sure. Somone tried to tell me that Konosuba was better than Re:Zero and I got triggered cause, no. Although at least you're saying Konosuba and not most of these other shit shows that everyone else talks about like the Shounens and just the shitty ones. Code Geass for instance, I couldn't even finish it, I was bored
kyle eaton TBH I think Re:Zero and Konosuba are equal in terms of enjoyment, the reason I said why not Konosuba is because they go hand in hand, they are both trapped in another world deconstructions and I just thought it'd be good to put it there since they were the most memorable shows of 2016
I have no interest in anime but I love watching your videos on this subject; your passion is just so raw and amazing! I don't see why some people are being so negative towards this video!! You've seem to have an amazing collection going on there and your enthusiasm is second to none- keep up the good work, Chris!
Because the people that know nothing about anime just hate on anything anime related, while those that DO know about anime can see how mediocre Chris' collection is.
+Josh Leitzel I really hate people like you. People are condescending about everything in life, from dumb shit like sports to,oh wow, MOVIES. For you to be so surprised at someone acting like an "elitist" on the internet you'd have to be a really young kid who just discovered the place.
BeanieLordProductions stop over hyping that shit. It was damn good but please stop saying it’s a masterpiece and putting it up there with Akira and Spirited Away.
Just Your Average Joe Well, Chris gave it an A+ and called it a masterpiece, so it looks like someone, in fact, *does* "put it up there with Akira and Spirited Away," buddy. Sorry you can't/won't accept that.
@GCP2 YES season 4 I love the even more dark tone, much less lighthearted bonding here basically going to be much more distraught than ever. And the characters are all so developed now and can’t wait to see what happens
Why they haven't given Neon Genesis Evangelion a widespread Blu Ray release I honestly can't understand. It's the like one of the top five most popular anime in existance. They stand to make a fortune off millions of eager fans and they still haven't done it. Even the DVDs have ceased production which is supremely strange. I guess they're just that desperate to boost the rebuild sales.
M Phylo just the Rebuild of Evangelion movies are on Blu-ray. The first one is Evangelion 1.11 You are (not) alone, it's just beautifully remastered. Check it out, it's sort of a reboot. Really cheap Blu-rays on Amazon as well.
Death Parade isn't a horror show. Its more like a thriller/mystery, and each episode focuses on another character, with two overlying characters that appear in each episode. Its really good, you should watch it.
Best anime you're missing: Monster - amazing story, good action, intellectual, severely underrated, favorite anime of alltime barring cowboy bebop and nostalgia shows (someone please make a live action adaptation, it's well suited+breaking bad lv writing) One Punch man - hilarious, great action, just for fun kinda like dbz Mob Psycho 100 - fun, great action, kinda like the original db Phantom: Requiem for the phantom - good action, psychological thriller, underrated Kill la kill - funny, fanservicey, just for fun Shiki - scariest anime i've watched Baccano! - great story honorable mentions: Assassination classroom, no game no life, naruto (shippuden), one piece and please finish Parasyte and watch Death Parade (it's pretty short)
Hope Chris finished AOT. I felt a similar way in the beginning. I enjoyed it but wasn’t my favorite show ever but kept watching because I was always intrigued. Season 2 was really good. And throughout came to season 3 part 2 everything coming full circle. That’s where it all really WENT OFF LIKE YEAHHH. I can say this series is one of my favorites and so well written
Yeah I really want him to come back to this and release a review. Hopefully he will review the series as a whole after the final season part 2 drops because AOT has only gotten better and better.. it might be one of the best fiction series of all time.
since you like "Whiplash" I wanna highly recommended "Your Lie in April" or in Japanese "Shingatsu Kimi Wa Uso" it's of course not as intense as Whiplash but it touches on the same subjects of obsession over your art and perfectionism
Austin Kuettner well you can use a pirate site but I really hate using them because I like to support the industry but it's almost completely unavailable in North America
I really like your collection. There's a ton of great titles there. And the whole video was super entertaining. I love it tho every time that you bursted to a laughter, it made me smile a lot. x) Good work as always! I can't wait to see those anime reviews/ analysis that you plan on doing.
MasterGinko I don't remember, but someone asked him which anime did he recommend for people that still haven't gotten into anime and he recommended OPM and Cowboy Bebop
Hi Chris, love the channel and your reviews. Have a couple of recommendations of some more recent anime that I'd love to hear your opinion on. 1) Made in Abyss - Totally heart wrenching, must see though, probably most beautiful anime I've seen. 2) Dororo - Another extremely well animated show, story is very well done and short. 3) Assassination Classroom - What got me to really understand the depth that anime can get to. 4) Hunter x Hunter - Really well done Shonen 5) JoJo - so many memes, but such unique animation and some great humor
Chris, you should get the three Rurouni Kenshin live action movies. They've now been officially released in the US, and has both dubbed and subbed options. I also highly recommend My-HiME, a 26-episode action-adventure series. It has a bunch of spin-offs titled My-Otome, which are good but not on the same level as the original. There are also manga versions, but w/ different storylines from the anime shows.
Darkborne Lines I would say no.As a psychological thriller this show was really not that 'intense',which a great psychological thriller is supposed to make you feel. Also it was kinda easy to guess what would happen next. But I have to say,the technical side of this show is amazing. The visuals and the shoundtrack are really well made.It waas just that the story didn't have that much substance to it. If you want a great psycho-thriller then waych 'Shinsekai Yori'.Its plot is its strongest aspect. It might come as a cheesy Sci-fi series at first, but I can assure u,it is nothing but cheesy.Your thoughts on it at the beginning and at the end of the series will be very different. It has some issues with its charecters, but not too much and has a problem of doing some info-dumps.But actually its worst problem is,ironicly, its technical sides. The soundtrack is fine, but the animation was badly affected by poor budget. But in the end,its a really great show.Id rather have Chris review this than Death Parade.
Ebube Ego-Osuala To be fair everybody's collection is missing a lot of things. Chris had a lot of stuff I really wanted but also was missing stuff I thought he should have.
_Eden of the East_ is such an underrated show. Maybe a little too short (11 episodes, I finished it in a day), but I loved how the protagonist is a film buff and it's funny how it's so similar to the Bourne franchise.
I'm no expert but would like to recommend some anime I've enjoyed over the years. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. (also has a movie that's a recap and not at the same time) Monogatari series Puella Magi Maoka Magica and the third movie Rebellion 5cm Per Second Code Geass Fate/ series Hunter X Hunter (2011) its airing on toonami JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Kekkai Sensen or Blood Blockade Battlefront Kill la Kill Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann One Punch Man Mob Psycho 100 Welcome to the NHK No Game No Life Noragami Psycho Pass Redline Tiger and Bunny One Piece (if you want a really serious collection commitment) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Hyouka Barakamon Clannad series Boku no Hero Academia Daily Life of High School Boys Hellsing Ultimate Katanagatari Spice and Wolf
If you like "Angels Egg"...watch the movies by the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. Very similar vibe, atmosphere, and even similar themes and music. My favorite of his has to be "Stalker", but all of his films are just as transcending and meaningful as "Angels Egg"....ok I'm done now XD
13:08 - I watched "InuYasha" A LOT when I was in middle school! I'd watch it on Adult Swim at the crack of dawn every weekday morning right before I got ready for school. It was the first anime series I ever loved and one that made me a fan of anime. On top of that, I had a HUUUGE crush on Kagome at the time. She was my middle school waifu! xD
I didn't know Brotherhood was out of print? I bought Part 1 & 2 awhile back on Amazon for like $75 it was on sale. One of my number 1 Anime's I've watch!
actually, I think anime and movie both have same plot so I didn't watch the movie... but I LOVED the anime... one of the best I have seen along with deathnote and stein's gate
Angels Egg! Fuck yes! I love that movie (Where did you get a blu-ray for it?). Death Parade is really great. I'd also recommend any show by Maasaki Yuasa. The Tatami Galaxy and Ping Pong The Animation are his personal best in my opinion but Kaiba and Kemonozume are great as well. Also, check out Naoki Urusawa's Monster, it's a masterpiece but quite expensive to watch legally.
Noah Smith i saw the English dub of monster on youtube a long time ago. For some reason, it was taken down. It's not available on any streaming services. Fortunately, the manga is still available. The manga and anime are almost identical.
Noah Smith maybe I didn't use that specific website. I used to watch anime on those type of websites that were full of ads and pop ups. They really slowed down my computer and gave viruses.
Some anime I think you might enjoy that you didn't mention are: Patema Inverted Spice and Wolf Future Boy Conan(Miyazaki created show) The Devil is a Part-timer(very funny anime) One Punch Man (DBZ fans should love this)
It amazes me how many titles we have that are the same. Thanks for making this video. There's plenty of other titles that I'd like to get that you showed. Take care, Sam.
I highly recommend the first three series of Higurashi (Ni, Kai, and Rei) and Kill La Kill (fun, over the top, and ecchi as all hell but still extremely fun with a cool animation style)
Very nice collection Chris both you and your wife have good taste. I got some series in mind that I think you'd enjoy, Fate/Zero(Stay Night to if you like Zero), Hellsing Ultimate, Persona 4 the Animation, Gurren Lagann, Psycho Pass, Noragami, Blood Blockade Battlefront, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica to name a few.
i subscribed to your page like a couple months ago and you cannot believe how essential youve become. i literally check your page before i watch a new movie every single time. and now that i found you did anime reviews... dude omgwad. imma gonna need a longer summer.
Chris this is important: You have never seem FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in its entirety?! I don't know if you know, but BH follows the manga story and it is better than the previous version on anime. IMHO, the best anime series ever
uhm to be honest as someone who has watched both of them. FMA 03 has it's own merits. It's a lot darker and better character development. It does have a stupid ending but aside from that, I am sick of people who always shove FMA 03to the side, it's really good.
I recommend to everyone to first see 2003 untill episode 25, then they can continue if they really liked it, but thats the point where it gets repetetive and I also think up to that point it was better than brotherhood, there the start is quite rushed. And after these 25, they can switch to brotherhood. And for me it sounded as if he did see everything of brothhood, he just hasn't it on blueray.
My friend showed me Spirited Away 2 weeks ago for the very first time, and I gotta say, everything in that movie just blew me away. I was never a big anime guy to begin with, but I was so pissed at myself for not watching the movie, or any other of Hayao's movies sooner, because I'm a huge movie person. I now understand the love for his movies, and anime in general. I now have a small collection of my own blu - rays of Hayao's movies and other anime films. All thanks to my friend for showing me his masterpieces of cinema!
If you watch the Berserk movies I'd actually recommend watching the English dub as well. But one thing you should definitely check out is Hellsing Ultimate
I wish chris should do another anime collection video because it's one of my favorites. Edit: For 2 Million Subscribers!!!! Edit #2: Or for next year (2022)
BigMcK the Hellsing series is like the original Star Wars trilogy. Hellsing is A New Hope because it's recommended that you watch that one first, Hellsing Ultimate is The Empire Strikes Back because it expands upon more than theoretically possible and builds even more depth for a certain character, Hellsing Abridged is The Return of the Jedi because it's mostly just fun purely for the sake of fun
OH MY GOSH! I'm so happy! You've watched Akame Ga Kill too! I personally really love the series as it did some things I usually don't expect in anything!
Daaamn Chris, you NEED to watch Clannad. Like, you must. I think that is something you will absolutely love! Also, get around to watch Death Parade too, that anime was lit!
Luckily I managed to win a copy of the complete Gundam Wing collection I and II along with Endless waltz for $11. It was the bandai version and not a bootleg. It is my prized possession.
Never dove into Anime and yet I watched this cause Chris is so entertaining and clearly passionate on this which is appealing and I might give this genre a shot

Incredibly disappointed by the lack of Cory in the house. I thought we had something, Chris.
coryinthehouse Cory In The House is not anime more of a lousy live action sitcoms spinoff of That's So Raven from Disney Channel ( whom pointlessly and needlessly makes way too much sitcoms and should go to making new, great, creative and original cartoons like they used to such as Recess, DuckTales, House Of Mouse, DarkWing Duck, Gooftroop, TaleSpin, Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, Dave The Barbarian, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers and Gravity Falls and also need to Toon Disney back so it can replace Disney Channel and Disney XD in order for us to see more of it's cartoons and less of it's live action sitcoms and so that Disney will go to making creative, fresh, good and original cartoons like it used and be back in the cartoon making business).
Shuratoooooooo
Jack Whitty you must be fun at parties
Why do people keep saying it's anime, who started that?
King of Wakanda me since when did I say that I said it's a live action Disney sitcom I didn't say it was anime.
It’s been 5 years. I think an updated Anime collection would be awesome!
Probably might do one soon

I strongly recommend Hunter X Hunter Chris. You won't regret it.
Hunter X Hunter is so slow. I think Chris will just get bored honestly.
2011 is not slow i think
Yeah he'll probably enjoy it quite a bit since he liked Yu Yu Hakusho. One of my favorite longer shows :D
It's starts off slowly, but that shouldn't be a problem nor a turnoff for Chris ;)
I wouldn't say it's great, but it's good, and suspenseful. I watched the entire 2011 run, and the story went all over the place, but it kept me engaged the whole way through, and the Meruem arc ending was memorable.
Hmmmm.... I notice that Cory in the House is not part of your collection Chris. Correct this mistake.
And Bee Movie one of the best anime deaths is featured in that film when Barry goes super Pollen and wipes Ray Liota out of existence so many great memeories of that film.
I notice me and your mother's homemade video isn't in his collection either. Perhaps Chris isn't really into bondage.
King of Wakanda especially Airplane Instruction Videos From the 80's.

still waiting for that
@@prodfife still waiting for that
I am absolutely waiting for that inspirational class anime
Still waiting for that.
yes this
I love how people say "anime is for children" when they've seen their favorite Disney movies on loop since childhood.
Arturo Sánchez lol what? haha light rays? have you only watched those anime?
Weeb- To praise anime and Japanese culture to the point of being a psychopath. or should. say, psychopass. kill me
if you just have an interest in anime it doesn't mean you're a weeb, you just have an interested in the art style and such. it's the same thing as being interested in movies
DarkestHour757 lol non anime people don't get it because they stupid lol
DarkestHour757 if anime fan can take criticism we might take you seriously
spotted the weeb lmao
I think its just ignorant trolls baiting anime fans who get too personal with being called a weeb. Smart anime fans know they aren't weebs, because you can like and appreciate something and not be disillusioned with praising it and the culture over your own.
Hell, I've been friends (note past tense) with idiots who would shit on weebs... That grew up watching and loving Toonami.

I feel bad for people who hate on anime. So much good shit. They don't realize it's just a medium. It's like if I said I hate American Movies because of a few bad films.
CHUCKYFAN100 exactly my thoughts
CHUCKYFAN100 yeah, paintings are like movies and sculptures are like anime. Both great, different strengths.
Also, it has a totally different set of tropes than western entertainment.
CHUCKYFAN100 yea I personally don't like 95% of anime but I love the classics
Also, some anime I'd like to recommend for Chris:
-Gurren Lagann
-Kill la Kill
-One Punch Man
-Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the third movie Rebellion
-The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and its movie the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (mostly just to hear his thoughts on it)
-Higurashi When They Cry (also includes Kai)
-Code Geass
-Azumanga Daioh
-Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World
-Konosuba (original title's too long)
Re:Zero, now that's what i'm talkin about.
Rylade475 If you're going to put Re:zero why not put Konosuba there too
Joel Iglesias Konosuba was a little funny albeit a little boring in the later episodes.
+kyle eaton That sounds like a personal problen. Ask most people in the anine community and they'll tell you konosuba is better.
kyle eaton TBH I think Re:Zero and Konosuba are equal in terms of enjoyment, the reason I said why not Konosuba is because they go hand in hand, they are both trapped in another world deconstructions and I just thought it'd be good to put it there since they were the most memorable shows of 2016
I have no interest in anime but I love watching your videos on this subject; your passion is just so raw and amazing! I don't see why some people are being so negative towards this video!! You've seem to have an amazing collection going on there and your enthusiasm is second to none- keep up the good work, Chris!

@@DMCK2000 the pacing of this anime series isn’t perfect but seriously shinji’s parents are great but it’s on Blu-ray
Same goes for Trigun and countless others. Why haven't they done it yet.

I wonder if the lack of an NGE blu ray boxset has something to do with troubles occuring within Gainax themselves.

Amazing anime
Every anime breaks my heart except for black lagoon that's just bad ass
Death Parade isn't a horror show. Its more like a thriller/mystery, and each episode focuses on another character, with two overlying characters that appear in each episode. Its really good, you should watch it.
Best anime you're missing:
Monster - amazing story, good action, intellectual, severely underrated, favorite anime of alltime barring cowboy bebop and nostalgia shows (someone please make a live action adaptation, it's well suited+breaking bad lv writing)
One Punch man - hilarious, great action, just for fun kinda like dbz
Mob Psycho 100 - fun, great action, kinda like the original db
Phantom: Requiem for the phantom - good action, psychological thriller, underrated
Kill la kill - funny, fanservicey, just for fun
Shiki - scariest anime i've watched
Baccano! - great story
honorable mentions: Assassination classroom, no game no life, naruto (shippuden), one piece

1) Made in Abyss - Totally heart wrenching, must see though, probably most beautiful anime I've seen.
2) Dororo - Another extremely well animated show, story is very well done and short.
3) Assassination Classroom - What got me to really understand the depth that anime can get to.
4) Hunter x Hunter - Really well done Shonen
5) JoJo - so many memes, but such unique animation and some great humor
You should see mention the old/new one
Chris, you should get the three Rurouni Kenshin live action movies. They've now been officially released in the US, and has both dubbed and subbed options. I also highly recommend My-HiME, a 26-episode action-adventure series. It has a bunch of spin-offs titled My-Otome, which are good but not on the same level as the original. There are also manga versions, but w/ different storylines from the anime shows.

Darkborne Lines EVERYBODY, PUT YOUR HANDS UP!!

Chris this is important:
You have never seem FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in its entirety?! I don't know if you know, but BH follows the manga story and it is better than the previous version on anime. IMHO, the best anime series ever
JoaoNMatz Brotherhood is infinitely better than that dumbass 2003 version
uhm to be honest as someone who has watched both of them.

If you watch the Berserk movies I'd actually recommend watching the English dub as well. But one thing you should definitely check out is Hellsing Ultimate
I wish chris should do another anime collection video because it's one of my favorites.
Edit: For 2 Million Subscribers!!!!
Edit #2: Or for next year (2022)
I liked your comment
@@Jonathan-tw4xm Thanks
Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate, get them.
BigMcK Without Hellsing, there's no real anime collection.
I saw Ultimate but I haven't seen the original. Reckon it's worth the effort of tracking down?
Nah. Ultimate is far superior.
screw original....
watch Hellsing Ultimate its way better
BigMcK the Hellsing series is like the original Star Wars trilogy. Hellsing is A New Hope because it's recommended that you watch that one first, Hellsing Ultimate is The Empire Strikes Back because it expands upon more than theoretically possible and builds even more depth for a certain character, Hellsing Abridged is The Return of the Jedi because it's mostly just fun purely for the sake of fun
Admiring your comic book collection in the background. Glad to see you have all of the essential Batman comics.
You still haven't done that Akira review. :P

It baffled me that he had Air yet not Kanon and Clannad/Clannad After Story :(
Clannad was gorgeous and bluray.I love that series!
My 3rd favorite anime of all time😁😁
Luckily I managed to win a copy of the complete Gundam Wing collection I and II along with Endless waltz for $11. It was the bandai version and not a bootleg. It is my prized possession.
Chris please do another blu ray collection vid. Pretty please.
Probably never will
Never dove into Anime and yet I watched this cause Chris is so entertaining and clearly passionate on this which is appealing and I might give this genre a shot
Elfen Lied ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Santiago Garcia watching that right now. it is killing me inside.

YLIA is a melodramatic piece of trash.
You probably think Anohana is great too.
It is melodramatic and predictable, but the animation is what really made it amazing for me. You have to give it that at least.
Chris pls watch Clannad + After Story!! IT'S THE BESTTT
Thank you for sharing Chris. Lot of intriguing titles right here.
