I love how the colours on this large mini came together. At first, I thought the Orc Skin was too close to the wyvern skin Charming Chartreuse, but the Sprite Green scales really helps to show off the differences. 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
love this paint job, i can imagine it with some extra edge highlighting and some blending as well to even drive the contrasts further for an overall effect. well done. PS: I also really liked the old WD with the "flying cabage" painted in there :)
Thank you, yes the model would lend itself to a lot of more advanced painting techniques. However I’m all about just getting stuff done to a decent standard these days.
Really enjoyed this vid...watched it on my break...1 thing I do like in your videos is that u show the bottles of paint tht ur using and on the back of tht I'm goin to a few of them...particularly the greens and pallid bone...cheers
It's a small step that takes some time and effort. I am happy to add that to my videos, some people are not. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
I will add them to my list. I intend to cover all the old world armies except the brets, not my thing. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
They really do have some great sculptors. It’s nice being able to pick from different manufacturers, especially when the main one never has any stock, their loss. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
Really good to finally see a straight forward wyvern painting video. The AoV wyvern just looks far better than the GW wyvern. Only advantage the GW one has is that it’s easier to stick a shaman on it.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and you are right about a shaman being a problem on this wyvern . I think I prefer the idea of my big monsters getting stuck in to a fight though so I doubt I would ever put a shaman on one, but it would be a problem for folks that want to do that
Very nice video, love the colors on the wyvern. What do you think about priming in white and thzn covering the metal parts with black and dry brushing ? Would you do this first and then cover the excess metal with white on the other parts of the mini ? would that work ? (I haven't attempted to paint minis in ages).
You could do that with traditional paints. The problem with speed paints is they do not cover dark colours. The wash with nuln oil (black wash) is a compromise. I am always looking for new ways to improve as long as it doesn’t require twice the amount of time. Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment
Awesome model ! What are you going to equip him with for battle ? I have tried Talisman of Protection and Ogre blade. I'm going to try Troll hide trousers and Choppiest choppa next. Not sure .
