    The most important thing is what they did with youtube. Highlights for every session, on board pole laps and most importantly paddock pass. Sometimes 3 episodes on a single race weekend.

      Yeah i really like Paddock pass, even watched it after the sessions while at the track in Austria. So much you just don't see or hear about when in the stands. The audio commentary is a bit hard to hear from time to time live at the tracks (especialy when they go bi-lingual).

    If it wasn't for liberty i wouldn't have re-started watching F1.
    It was at the beginning of 2018 where on youtube i got recommended the highlights of the Bahrain grand prix, i watched them and i was intrigued because of the halo.
    As i got more recommendations on youtube of race highlights, after seeing the highlights of baku and seeing the RBs crash into each other i had to watch the following race. and from then on i was hooked. If it wasn't for the youtube highlights i never wouldn't have started watching it.
    Liberty approach to social media is what has got majority of new fans interested, there is more to F1 than just racing now.

    Yes in many ways than one Liberty has improved F1 show perception. But I feel there is an untapped territory of improvement in the actual racing regulation to make the sport much more competitive and interesting from a viewer perspective. After the great excitement of qualifying session and the race day excitement when all cars are on the starting grid ready to catapult all together to the very often fracas of the first curve. I think that the first curve danger should be avoided, by making every driver follow one another all the way to the very last curve before the start finish strait , and only then lifting the restriction and let the actual race begin. The normally very long stretch ahead will give the racer time to distance enough from each other and avoid the many first curve pile up that often occur ruining for many the entire racing event.
    Normally up to now at the start of the second lap almost always the checkered flag result has most of the time been already decided, killing for most the race excitement for the entire session and put too many spectators to sleep. It does not make any business sense and especially any interesting sense from a paying spectator perspective to have only just one or two teams only decide practically all the 22 events. to me it is just plain stupidity, probably tied to special interests not to have all the 22 or 24 cars fight for a possible victory all the way to the last lap, by imposing similar regulations as the Indy cars, that has few simple rules and limitations to make sure that every car stays within the same possibilities of winning the race, very often in this case determined by the best driver, or the luckiest one which is fine, but the entire racing session of an Indy event is by far much more interesting than a F1 event, and definitely don't put the spectators to sleep from boredom. Any reaction from the great F1 strategists? Or are you still sleeping. come on we want excitement. And I am tired of seen Hamilton and seldom very few others, probably in a very illegal racer go out on a Sunday drive type event, and when challenged it seems that the only thing he has to do is push a button to have all the power needed to keep its leadership, I see something very suspicious in the whole F1 circus. I like to see them fighting it out all the way to the end. If you can achieve that, then and only then you are doing something that should have been imposed years ago, and in the process losing billions in revenue. and lost of million of paying spectators.

    • @KymIllman
      @KymIllman  5 років тому

      I know less about racing regulations than you I guarantee.

    • @sat7755
      @sat7755 5 років тому +1

      @ Kym Hillman
      ... And I guarantee that you know a lot more than I. But from my perspective and that of million spectators, FI racing has become deadly boring, and frankly I don't know why I am wasting my time. Suggestion: why don't you read my post entirely to the end, once you do that try to answer with civility by leaving sarcasm out of it, for by exposing your sarcasm you are evidencing the fact that you have not read or understood the content or the constructive spirit of my post. of all the improvement you have mentioned there isn't a single one that addresses the usual boredom that most races develop in to. While all those ancillary improvements you mentioned none of them benefit 99% of the spectators at large, usually around the race trucks exposed to the cold, rain and heat of the race day, who don't give a hoot to the personalities that can afford the niceties of the paddock or the Martinis of the secluded clubs you mentioned. So in many ways than one the FI changes have not addressed the core of the spectators interests, but have only enhanced the VIP comforts.

Models and girls who work at public events like this rely on working at different events throughout the year to make a living. I agree that Liberty has been good for F1. They have made it a more approachable, more entertaining sport. But I think you credit them with more than they deserve. The new tracks for instance. That's not something new they've done for F1, Bernie was big on expansion to new territories too. I believe under Bernie we would still have 22 GPs this year, perhaps more. The F1 app. Liberty only built on the evolution that had been taking place under Bernie. But do you know that the free app is not available in some countries? How do they justify that? In Kenya F1 is massive. Every GP weekend, F1 is always on top of the trends on Twitter. But we can't even download the free live timing app from the official app stores!
