  • Here is a track by the arch anarchists Crass. Called Reality Whitewash this track comes from the long player 'Christ The Album'. Please note that this video is shorter than the actual length of the song on the album which is partly down to my poor video editing skills. The video is taken from fellow anarchist and artist Gee Vaucher's musical collage of Crass songs: Semi-Detached.
The quality isn't too clever but I put this down to the age of the video. Crass have come under attack from some quarters who espouse the view that their worth is sometimes over-rated. From my perspective I find their music challenging (if sometimes unlistenable). I think this band are best summed up from the following description from Furious.com: "Unlike most bands delivering rebellious diatribes, they actually lived out the uncompromising politics of their songs. They lived in a commune, debated the Falklands War with a conservative politician on the BBC, helped fund an anarchist center, and refused to dilute the confrontational, explicit lyrics and sleeve designs in the face of enormous legal pressures. That helped give their songs-- articulate, if blurrily delivered, attacks upon war, organized religion, sexism, and social injustice of all sorts-- more weight."(www.furious.com/Perfect/crass..... I am currently debating whether to post some of the other tracks from Semi-Detached. However, these are very hard hitting in places and at the moment I cannot make up my mind. Feedback is positively encouraged/

I never knew there was a video going with this song. Thanks. Possibly best song by Crass and one of the best songs ever.
