And when Nyneave abruptly cut him off with "--your name sings in his ears now get up!" I loved that whole scene between Elayne with her "See, this is how it's done" smirks and Nyneave's annoyance with the time wasting, haha.
Poor Anvaere. Not only is she finding out that her son is a Darkfriend, but she also finds out that the rise of House Damdred was NOT because of her hard work and good management. :(
Hope to see more of Aunvere in the futur and some gesture from Moraine to warm Aunvere's heart after exposing her son. Sacrifice Darkfriend son and the Damodred House futur show me great strenght, rightiousness and respect from Aunvere who are in the light at her core. Wow Damodred sisters, RESPECT.
Gotta love the subtle "Screw you to everyone trying to mess with me" act of Egwene re-braiding her hair, two-rivers style. Part taking back her roots, part reminder that 'all the women stand with her', and probably a very 'grounding' ritual on her part.
Loving the Nynaeve/Elayne duo. Zoe and Ceara are just killing it with subtle but delicious little looks, they're hilarious! When Elayne took control the flash of indignation from Zoe was great and Elayne's clear amusement at Nynaeve's impatience when Loial got all reverential was hilarious. Elayne has soooo got Nynaeve's number (like she does many she meets), and Nynaeve doesn't know how to handle it!
I am also obsessed with their dynamic. I just finished Fires of Heaven which heavily features them as a duo, and they’re absolutely nailing that feel in the show!
"You lied to me." is such a telling line, in my opinion. People are mad at Siuan (justifiably so) for what she did but Moiraine was acting Really suspicious and obfuscating a lot; enough so that the woman she's been inlove with for 20 years has started to think she's a Black. She's not unsympathetic but Moiraine Has the habit of holding her cards Way too close to her chest and that makes her hard to trust at times. Siuan does not have the information we have and the conclusions she arrived to weren't completely off-base. Now we have them leaving with Lanfear of all people, I can't wait to see how it unfolds. Especially since Liandrin hasn't been revealed as a Black herself yet and she seemingly got a vendetta against Moiraine.
This. Spoilers I guess. It made me think of a couple lines at the beginning of the Great hunt when Siuan comes to Fal Dara and we are in Moraine’s POV where she thinks there are somethings she has to keep from telling Siuan.
Suian used the One Power on Rand and Lan. Unless she is Black Ajah (doubtful), she could only do that if she was afraid for her life or if she was attacking someone pledges to the dark. She was not in peril at that moment, so Siuan had to believe they and Moiraine are darkfriends. Which Suian could have reasonably believed because she thought Moiraine had lied about being stilled - a lie only a member of the Black Ajah could tell. Seeing Moiraine and Lan follow Lanfear will probably confirm that in Suian’s eyes.
@@jwsel Let's just accept that script writers are playing a little bit fast and lose with the use of the one power to achieve cinematic effects. The oath in question is: "Never to use the One Power as a weapon, except in the last extreme defense of her own life, or the life of her Warder, or another Aes Sedai." There are some grey zones here though that we need to accept. Aes Sedai can obviously shield male channelers at pretty much any time. I guess it could be argued that male channelers are considered so dangerous that using the one power on them falls under "the last extreme defense..", and if that is the case Lan working with Rand means that they are both fair game. I also note that Siuan didn't seem to use the one power in an attempt at killing. I think the much worse issue is that Siuan uses Moiraine's oath to force her to close the waygate. Never mind that it is so close to using compulsion that there almost is no difference - she uses it on someone she loves. And Moiraine is simply trying to do what she and Siuan had agreed to do together in the first place. It seemed worse to me than what Sul'dam do - at least Sul'dam consider those they enslave less than human. Doing it to a loved one is utterly incomprehensible to me. However, you are completely right that Moiraine, Rand and Lan following Lanfear makes it entirely reasonable if Siuan were to consider them darkfriends.
Sooo Lady Anvaere is aware of Liandrin's dark affiliation and Liandrin is probably unaware of that, that leaves her exposed. Wonder if we're gonna see more of Lady Anvaere spilling the tea on Liandrin
While watching the joy at watching the flashbacks to the happy couple, I was sitting there thinking yeah it's lovely but it's just there to make things hurt more later in the episode 😢 My one glimmer of hope for them getting back together someday comes from a youtuber called "the Amyrlin Seat" who suggested that Compulsion is being used on Siuan... Doesn't seem very likely to me, but I hope so 🤞 Somewhere else I heard a theory that would be even nicer, but I don't think is possible - that it was all a ruse to get Rand to trust Moiraine. I would consider that possible if Siuan hadn't made Moiraine close the waygate, but doing that would make no sense if it was a plan; it's not like they would have had a plan that included Lanfear.
@@notallwhowanderarelost4797 I want to believe she's been influenced by the shadow via Ishmael in her dreams (like in S1) or compulsion, but it doesn't feel very likely. I hope at the very least she recognizes how much she f-ed up and apologizes at some point. I also can't believe Lan and Moiraine are going somewhere with Lanfear! 🤯
You're one of my fav WoT reactors, thanks for the positive fun reactions! I really liked this episode! Only thing that felt slightly weird to me was watching Moiraine follow Lanfear into the ways; will be interested their demeanor in the Ways or on the journey next episode.
Moiraine learned her lesson to not attack a forsaken, but she's also not about to let Rand go with Lanfear alone. She's going to be very careful in the ways.
I loved this episode from beginning to end. I love that they're showing the real Lan-not just a stone cold killing machine but also a loving friend and a meganerd
I honestly thought her being stalled/shielded was a way around that particular plot line, but now I’m wondering. Spoilers below… I cannot believe they will remove Rosamund Pike from the show, she’s literally the first named actress in the credits. Also, I’ve said from beginning that eliminating the Finn story or heavily altering it would make sense because it’s just so _weird._ This episode is clearly hinting at Matt’s future, though, so who knows.
Well, "that" encounter in the books, really came from some "bad news" Lanfear received about Rand and a certain young girl......-we are not there yet. 😊
Lanfear is basically my favorite character right now--like literally she steals the show lol also loved Verin helping them escape and fooling Leane.. that was so good! Siuan's betrayal absolutely cut deep... I cannot believe... literally thought that Siuan and Moiraine were gonna be endgame... where are they going with this? I really thought that Siuan was gonna be on Moiraine's side on this one, she really let us down 😥 why Siuan why!! I wonder what would have happened if Moiraine had stayed with her... but I literally could have a hour long episode of just Rand, Lan, Moiraine, and Lanfear in the same room together... that to me would be entertainment lol hope you feel better soon!
The only one who could rival Lanfear's performance is Renna. It would be a huge departure from the books, but part of me really wants to see Renna make Lanfear a damane.
Hi, there! New watcher here, and I'm just stopping by to say that I really like your content (and your makeup). Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the Wheel of Time!
I think Mat will redeem himself. His whole arc has been about running away from his friends because he thinks they're better off without him. And the forces of dark have been relentless in trying to reinforce that. I'm starting to think that Ishy knows there's more to Min's dagger vision, but wanted her to tell him about it because it would feed his insecurities and break him even more. I thin the finale will have him start by continuing that trend, but then he'll see his friends losing and realize that there's something only he can do to save them.
Agreed. I feel like they're misdirecting show-only folks (& untrusting readers!) with Ishy's claim Mat is his, giving the impression this is a fantasy device thing. I believe it's a bog standard, cold-blooded manipulator thing: He's saying Mat's family dynamics mean he's the most vulnerable. He doesn't have the core identity of himself as lovable & capable of good to cling to, and IMO Ishy thinks he's easy prey. Gooood luck with that, Papa Fibs.
Ishy is to confident that Mat is his, there is a great opportunity to turn that to Ishamael face. Give Mat one glimpse of his friend in distress and he will go help them. The Lanfear's deception about Mat should be more impressive give me vibs that Mat will suprise us for sure.
just want to let you know that I am enjoying watching along with you and also your longer show on Monday. I kind of fell over your channel when I started season 2 its been a fun ride, thank you.
I am looking forward to seeing Egwene get springed and what she is going to do when she does! I am not a book reader (yet), but they are gearing up for an epic battle I think
I have watched this episode 3 times. Liked it more on watches 2 and 3 but do wish we had more episodes to allow things to breathe. Show lanfear is my fave show character right now. Loving your reaction when you recognise book passages btw :)
I think Siuan is under compulsion. I watched many times now and the suspicion is through the roof. She does not react when Leanne tells her that Rand has been freed. She is not trying to prevent Lanfear in any capacity basically killing an entire city. When Rand says he has been captured Lanfear answers " I know ". When Lanfear leaves she says "A broken Amyrlin suits me much better" - An Amyrlin under compulsion
We soooo needed 10 eps,.. so many threads are squished/underserved with 8. Perhaps they could have spent a little less on the Moraine is mean to LAN story and more on naturally getting people to Falme but 10 would still be the minimum needed to do this series justice
I wonder if the Mat hallucination scene gives him a stronger reason to go the Aelfinn/Eelfinn. Rather than "filling the holes in my memory" it might be "rid me of these terrible past life memories and fill them with new ones."
Do you think they will have the Aelfinn/Eelfinn in the show? I mean, they're quite off the chart different than the WoT world for TV viewers to understand.
I came here for two reasons. 1.) To see your reaction. 2.) To say I was wrong. I said Moiraine was Stilled. You were right, good job. 😉 I should’ve known. Haha. Can’t wait for the last one!
I think of Harry Potter every time I see Katie Leung who plays that eidetic brown sister that helps Verin. Also, lanfear knowing how to open the gates? Hmmm. Weren't The Waze built after the Forsaken were sealed? And yes, I had to look up how you spell eidetic. Oh, and he's knowledge of tied off weaves early compared to the books?
I thought they were built during the AOL but were corrupted after the Frosaken were sealed and Saidin tainted, but I haven't read that part in a while so not sure
Dear @kritterXD, I love, love, love your reactions! With your book knowledge and experience of the material, it make what you're saying that much more grounded and powerful, and less hype. Thank you so much! 🙂
-Lan, Rand, Moraine and Lanfear in the Ways....prediction of friction and violence in the air....or kidnapping ! -Ishy really touching the face of alot of people; Rand, Trollock, Lanfear, Perrin and now Matt.....Kinky Ishy ! 😈 -With one hour left (hope will be 1h30 or 2) the pacing and action will be crazy and hope breath taking.
I genuinely loved that one scene between Lan and Rand. I felt so much chemistry between the two of them. I saw like a Jedi master and his Padawan. And my heart felt so full. I hope to see more of the two of them in the next season.
Siuan knows that Lanfear is stronger. Lanfear was looking straight at Moiraine as she entered the scene. Siuan purposely distracted Lanfear. If she hadn't distracted Lanfear, she would have killed Moiraine. Remember, Rand was sheilded and would not have been able to stop her in time...
I didn’t like Moiraine until second read and I think that helps me appreciate her in the show. But damn, the show runners are making it really hard for me to not like Lanfear.
11:18 logain verbally describing what he saw around Moraine then wrapping his robe around him in demonstration reminds me of Joyce from Stranger Things trying to describe the Demogorgan to Hopper in Season 1.
I adore how petty Lanfear is. She could have gone right to Rand, but she had to pretend to be "one of the people" in an age of 'savages' for far too long whilst wooing Rand, and probably LOVES destroying them like this, HAHAHAHA!
Even Lanfear can't easily fight 13 Aes Sedai linked together, and certainly not directly. I think she went in loudly as a distraction to make them work to contain the damage.
Idk I think Siuan’s decisions made some sense given the information that she had. It’s not book Siuan to be sure. It’s show Siuan. Don’t get me wrong I’m def still Team Moiraine lol
Perfect timing! I just finished watching the episode on Amazon and this video was posted. I was partially correct about Moraine being shielded. I thought the knot would be broken with Ishy dying. I still want Ishy to die. lol
Ishy dying....not before I saw his face when he realise how wrong he was about Matt (Ishy:" Matt is mine since birth".) I want to see that words swallow with full of amertume and ego's brusing in Ishy's throat.
I love youuuuuu. I've been waiting for this reaction all day. What an episode, cannot wait for the finale next week. I fear that Mat is going to go stabby and I don't know how that is going to be redeemable.
A weapon is made to kill. The Shield does not kill. He's still the BABY dragon that Siuan and her underlings were able to shield. An infant is not a threat to an adult. Likewise ... Moiraine, Lan and baby dragon .. are not threat to Lanfear. Yet. And all three are taking advantage of this fact to get in quick training on the sly.
With Matt I really hope he redeems himself in the last episode. BOOK SPOILER Below! With the tea I thought it might be a switch out versus having him stepping through the archways to Eelfin or whoever world (Only read books once and done the audiobooks 6 or 7 times.) I was hoping we would get a lord of battle Matt early though who knows maybe they'll reveal more of what the tea showed him later.
Ya see, this whole thing with Lan understanding weaves etc. I know D Goblin has an issue with this but I'm comfortable enough to imagine that Lan's been around Aes Sedai for long enough to add 2+2, plus to know that new channellers need certain experience with the power before they can do more.
Man oh man, we need twice the episodes. This season has been soooo good. I loved season 1, but this season is on a whole other level. They need to go ahead and renew season 4 and 5, give them half the rings of power budget and give them 12 episodes a season. I am going to manifest this fr
Haha I love the line in the Foretelling "it's happening NOW" ..... New Spring Spoliers I remember back when New Spring was released, there was humour around the searchers looking at every baby born in a month in a wide geographical range, instead of just Dragonmount. The Black Ajah even more so.
Mat is still tied to the Dagger. In the books it wasn't really an issue but the way they are doing it here it really is---so I hope we like how they are fleshing this out. And yes, he will have a glorious redemption arc.
Mat's visions were lies. Notice that Ishamael was holding him in the same position as his dream/vision self? The tea probably just put him to sleep. Everything he saw was a lie being showed/controlled by Ishamael.
What do you think Siuan will do to Moraine (as the Amylin Chair) ? She will stay un Aes Sedai, she will be punish ? Hunted ? What yours theories from that deviation from the books, please annonce warning spoilers and wich books. Thanks everyone !
Moiraine is still exiled, so I imagine Siuan will focus most of her efforts on Rand rather than Moiraine, especially since her and Moiraine were plotting together for a very long time and if anyone found out, they’d both be in trouble. Granted Siuan COULD confess to that, which would have some interesting implications for the White Tower!
THIS COMMENT MAY CONTAIN SOME BOOK SPOILERS. I tried not to mention many details, but it may still spoil some things that are coming. * * * * * I can't remember any mention in the books about what the Tower laws said the Amyrlin Seat is supposed to do when the Dragon is reborn, but I do remember that what Siuan said in the show is what a certain Red sister planned to do. I think they made it as a part of Tower laws for that plot. We know that the Reds act as Tower Law enforcers. I also think that the event in early s3 will be the result of Siuan not immediately following the Tower laws, which resulted in the Dragon Reborn escaping to Falme with a Forsaken.
8:13 - I get why they did it for tv, but arent Aiel supposed to be buried standing up? I love watching your your reactions and i think im a little in love with Lanfear!!! #teamshielded
@@LeeTurnock-zy2dg Wow, more I learn from the Aiels more I'm curious to know more. Such an interesting culture and what is the forgot sin that exil them.
When Lanfear attacked Siuan and broke Rand's shield, is that means that Lanfear did something to Siuan's power ? Or Lanfear is so powerfull that she attacked Siuan and remove herself the shield ?
Siuan doesn’t know how to tie-off weaves, so a significant enough interruption would make her lose hold of the weaves-like getting bonked by Lanfear in the way that she did 😅
As for the Lan thing --- not perfect: it would have been good if it weren't for the subject matter. The Aes Sedai always treat everything to do with the one power as a 'need to know' thing and somehow Lan is the one who knows about random channeling stuff from the age of legends that Moraine does not? Okay...
Hey nice reaction! Im not a book reader but it makes me glad to see people engage with this show positively since i see a LOT of very mad book readers My personal theory regarding the whole leaving with lanfear thing is that moiraine is going to try and “deal with her” to protect rand somehow. I dont think shes strong enough at all for a head to head challenge but I cld see her sacrificing herself or something - which wld be doubly tragic given how she just got her power back + mended things with Lan. I just cant help but feel like they need to find some way to free rand from lanfear’s shadow for the coming seasons when he gets stronger, and need a situation that lets him grow on his own without encountering her every time he closes his eyes for a nap
All very interesting thoughts! I won’t spoil anything from the books but some of your instincts are pretty spot on. MILD book spoiler about one power mechanics Rand could learn to shield his dreams from Lanfear in the same way she was shielding him from Ishy. That could help give him a little separation!
My dear kritter. This is not my revelation. You are so going to love this one. Rewatch the Rand and Siuan scene. When Rand tells her I will not live in your cage. There is definately 2 voices comming out of Rands mouth. Welcome to the sexy half of Rand
They're getting us to where we need to be, most of the pieces are falling into place. So much they had to "repair" after late Season 1 issues, and So SO much they incorporated to explain how things work in ways that would've been impossible if they were just limited to book scenes. Now that they finally got Moiraine/Lan fixed my biggest concern shifts to the Finn, they really need the Finn to do Mat justice IMHO, but I think we'll get a good Mat moment next episode to put him on track again. I am losing my mind thinking about how amazing Season 3 can be now given how much leg work they've done with Lanfear, the Aiel, Mat, Rand, male/female weaves. So much groundwork has been done that I think Season 3 may be the most WoT of all of it. Ugh, it's going to be such a wait. PLEASE Bezos, if you want to save your soul and come to the light fund the hell out of this show!!!
Like your turn of phrase. 😂 Is not call Father of Lies for nothing, everything is in the name. I start to read book 3 and with how Mat is played this season by the new actor, I want Matt to become one of my favorite. And hope that Min will come back, I enjoy so much there interaction and vibs.
I think Siuan will regret it. Her face showed regret I love #Siuaraine so much😍😍 Siuan is so cute🥺 she was just afraid of Rand turning bad or mad Moiraine will forgive her. Moiraine loves her (and me too😍)
Well. Here is my thought on Siuan. She basically used compulsion on Moiraine. Verin beeing Verin 😊 Lanfear beeing an absolute godess❤️ Ishy❤️ was wrong about Moiraines Sister😱 the aes sedai as a people from their leader to the rest of them basically suck👍
Questions: 1. Was Mat actually *in* Falme? Lanfear can just beam him there, like in Star Trek? 2. Why couldn't Rand see the weaves on Moraine? Thanks for another great video!
Mat was in Falme, yeah. There are pretty fast methods of travel in WoT that a forsaken like her is likely to know. And I’m wondering if men can’t see weaves when they aren’t embracing the source (except Logain who has a Talent) OR maybe Rand couldn’t/didn’t see them because he’s untrained still
@@KritterXD C'mon. It has to be the latter. Rand is a baby dragon who is no threat to Ishy & the Forsaken .... yet. Lan & Moiraine ... need more time with Rand .. for him to level up. So they (including Rand) needed Lanfear who can kill them all right now ... to believe she is in complete control ... and has nothing to fear from Lan & Moiraine.
I think Matt will flirt with the darkness but eventually come back to his nature, his heart, and side with his friends. Not certain this will happen in the last episode of season 2. Maybe during the first 3 episodes of season 3? 🤔
99% sure Mat either is working a double agent gig and pretending to go along with Ishie, or will flip in the next episode. But the show changes enough that it can keep that tension, you never *know*
WOT book spoilers . Siuaraine was a gift we had for 2 seasons we didn't have before. Sometimes even the bestest ships sink. These changes don't really change the rest of the story. Mo and Siuan don't meet in the books after this point.
I have a funny feeling Mat isn't going to necessarily "redeem" himself next episode. Rand still has to be stabbed, the horn will be blown, and Mat will be set up to be someone with power and responsibility but who he decides to use that power to help will probably be ambiguous until a later season.
I don't think Mat needs to redeem himself - he was never evil. He's spent the season going from imprisonment and torture by Liandrin (on Ishy's orders, I think), to being yanked around by Ishy's strings and (unintentionally on Min's part) Min's visions, to being kidnapped and imprisoned and tortured some more. (I don't believe for a minute that the tea shows past lives.) Mat hasn't made any choices, really, since he picked the dagger up; he's been swept up by events and used as Ishy's chew toy. What evidence is there of "darkness" within Mat, besides the comments of people who are shown to be wrong about other things (Moiraine's plan in s1 did not go well!) or are literally known as the Father of Lies? He got snappish and easily startled while sick and poisoned - oooh, DARKNESS! Anyway. Ishy's deliberately trying to break Mat down and make Mat think there is no option for him but Ishy's nihilism. It's not going to work. Mat doesn't like being jerked around and he absolutely is not going to be on board for destroying the world WHERE HIS SISTERS LIVE. I'm hoping to see Ishy get a big surprise from Mat in episode 8, when Mat actually gets to make a choice... and it's a heroic one. (Not going to mention the book thing I think is going to be part of this, but I think you can guess.) (Also, Siuaraine isn't over! Getting a huge foregrounded conflict where they betray each other because they both think the other is wrong about how to save the world, and they've ALWAYS chosen saving the world over each other... that's not a sunken ship. That's the beginning of a story arc.)
I'm worried about Mat.... I didn't like the instant Travelling to Falme. I'm worried about Min's vision of him stabbing Rand and wonder if Ishy's tactics are working.... hopefully he'll get a redemption at the end. He has to do the thing he does in The Great Hunt... Maybe spoiler.... .... ... ... Though, I think he's still under the influence of the dagger... hopefully that will be removed early next season and he'll have that battle with Elayne's brothers...
[17:07] While it does make sense that Logain could see the weave on Moiraine, it makes no sense that Rand couldn't without seizing Saidin. Logain is severed, so he definitely can't seize Saidin. - Just ignore it - the scene is over and that bit is supposed to be forgotten the moment it's over.
@@ShafiqaIdris I like your attitude, and I think it's correct to see it that way in the structure of the series. We could also consider that Logain has a special ability to see weaves both male and female (remember the bright as the sun comment when Nynaeve went Super Sayan?). All channelers have little knacks they are particularly good at, and it could be the case for Logain. However I think the important thing is to not get caught up too much in having script writers getting every little detail perfect, as I think small errors will happen from time to time. Scripts are written almost opposite to books, with an emphasis on what impactful scenes they want to reach at which time in the episode or season. The initial focus is on character over plot and emotion/tension over logic. Then script writers adjusts the story to achieve these scenes, and finally they have people establishing a logical progression and mending plot holes that was overlooked in the process. The script writers will eventually keep the basic integrity of the story from the books, and because of that we'll get an awesome series where scenes in the books are given life. Sometimes actors may interpret their character so well that we understand the characters better than we did when reading about them (Personally I think this happens with Nynaeve). Because of that I suggest letting little details like this slide and enjoying the show. I very much like the script writers decision to have Lan take initiative and actively help Moiraine even though she is trying to push him away. It works really well in the story on multiple levels.
Thank you, @@steffenhesslarsen ! I also like that Lan decided to actively help Moiraine (but was worried when he told Alanna about the Dragon Reborn). It added to their dynamic and moved the story along. Its very difficult for screen & book to match. So far, I'm happy with the series (even thought it was rocky in some places at the end of S1).
In the first episode of the show, Tam dropped the line that the purpose of the Wheel is to make each incarnation a little better than the last. It's also dropped in the Tinker episode with the idea of the Way of the Leaf working over generations. I think that's going to be Mat's approach - this incarnation, he can be better.
Can someone explain how Logain, in season one is able to "probe", and then consequently break out of a Sadar shield while moraine (also shielded by the opposing one power) immediately thought she was stilled? Also, Rand, spent all that time with Moraine, and it took Lan, of all ppl to tell him to "look a bit harder" to spot em, cmon. Loved the last ep but this one is weird.
Rand was trying not to hold the source, and I think he's spent most of his time with lanfear, not moiraine...I do think Lan's knowledge of weave tying was odd, though I think it works for non readers at this point.
Rand didn't spend that much time with Moiraine after EOTW and I don't think he would even know what to look for unless guided. Most of what he channeled was out of necessity and instinct Logain could see the Aes Sedai around him and that they were maintaining a shield so he knew there was something to fight against. Based on the show, the Aes Sedai don't know that a shield can be tied off, so she didn't know that there was something she could break/fight. I don't remember if they had her even try to reach out for it or if she just stopped trying so as not to get (more) depressed
Egwene suspects she is a Dreamer since early in The Great Hunt. On the way to Tar Valon she talks to Anaiya (the motherly blue Aes Sedai) about her odd dreams and that is when Anaiya first introduces the idea of Dreaming to Egwene and the reader.
The show has done a great job of humanizing Lanfear and Liandrin. I like them both. However, there is no way in the world of Jordon that Lan and Moraine got through the Ways with Lanfear leading. That is the big WTF moment for this episode.
I loved the humor in this episode! "Is this a sex thing or a murder thing?" "Don't encourage her"
SAME! Don’t forget “it would’ve been so much easier if you were a girl” or whatever it was Siuan said 🤣🤣
And when Nyneave abruptly cut him off with "--your name sings in his ears now get up!"
I loved that whole scene between Elayne with her "See, this is how it's done" smirks and Nyneave's annoyance with the time wasting, haha.
For real!
I actually think it mostly was. Barthanes may have “helped” but it is not like she is not the main reason
I hope so. I love Anvaeve! I hope we see more of her in future seasons. @@stone7858
Cat Crosses the Courtyard is an actual Marital Art's principle that my dad taught me about 25 years ago. RJ knew what he was about!
That’s so cool!
Thank you for sharing that❤
Sooo Lady Anvaere is aware of Liandrin's dark affiliation and Liandrin is probably unaware of that, that leaves her exposed. Wonder if we're gonna see more of Lady Anvaere spilling the tea on Liandrin
I hadn’t even considered that!!! Ahhh I hope so!
I am heartbroken over Siuan and Moiraine 😭 they were so good together.
I knowwwww 💔💔
While watching the joy at watching the flashbacks to the happy couple, I was sitting there thinking yeah it's lovely but it's just there to make things hurt more later in the episode 😢
My one glimmer of hope for them getting back together someday comes from a youtuber called "the Amyrlin Seat" who suggested that Compulsion is being used on Siuan... Doesn't seem very likely to me, but I hope so 🤞
Somewhere else I heard a theory that would be even nicer, but I don't think is possible - that it was all a ruse to get Rand to trust Moiraine. I would consider that possible if Siuan hadn't made Moiraine close the waygate, but doing that would make no sense if it was a plan; it's not like they would have had a plan that included Lanfear.
I hope they are over and it opens up the possibility of actual relationships from the books.
@@LeeTurnock-zy2dg didn’t read New Spring, I see
You're one of my fav WoT reactors, thanks for the positive fun reactions! I really liked this episode! Only thing that felt slightly weird to me was watching Moiraine follow Lanfear into the ways; will be interested their demeanor in the Ways or on the journey next episode.
Yeah we’ll see where this unlikely team-up leads 😬
Moiraine learned her lesson to not attack a forsaken, but she's also not about to let Rand go with Lanfear alone. She's going to be very careful in the ways.
I loved this episode from beginning to end. I love that they're showing the real Lan-not just a stone cold killing machine but also a loving friend and a meganerd
How are we already coming to the finale?! The Longing! I can feel it starting to take hold already!
I'm REALLY worried that we have Moraine AND Lanfear meeting in the finale,... I really really don't want "something" to happen early.
I honestly thought her being stalled/shielded was a way around that particular plot line, but now I’m wondering.
Spoilers below…
I cannot believe they will remove Rosamund Pike from the show, she’s literally the first named actress in the credits. Also, I’ve said from beginning that eliminating the Finn story or heavily altering it would make sense because it’s just so _weird._ This episode is clearly hinting at Matt’s future, though, so who knows.
I think that will happen at the end of the next season. I think Lannfear will be too happy by the end of the next episode to be thinking of murder.
I don’t think it will. I think they are trying to set up a deeper relationship with them so when it does happen it holds more weight.
Oh god… OH GOD
Thank you! And yeah I’m extremely curious where this fearsome foursome ends up next episode
@@KritterXD I might be slightly scared lol
The only one who could rival Lanfear's performance is Renna. It would be a huge departure from the books, but part of me really wants to see Renna make Lanfear a damane.

@@abelincoln8885 Lanfear is anything but generic
Hi, there! New watcher here, and I'm just stopping by to say that I really like your content (and your makeup). Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the Wheel of Time!
Thank you so much!!
Mat will blow it and that will be a game changer
Lan said it! The 2 things! He said them! Been waiting Cat Crosses the Courtyard since s1e1
just want to let you know that I am enjoying watching along with you and also your longer show on Monday. I kind of fell over your channel when I started season 2 its been a fun ride, thank you.
That’s so nice to hear! Thank you for being here!
So glad I found your channel. I’m also a huge book fan who has read the series multiple times and I’m loving what they are doing with the show.
I am looking forward to seeing Egwene get springed and what she is going to do when she does! I am not a book reader (yet), but they are gearing up for an epic battle I think
You will not regret becoming a book reader, go for it!
I have watched this episode 3 times. Liked it more on watches 2 and 3 but do wish we had more episodes to allow things to breathe. Show lanfear is my fave show character right now. Loving your reaction when you recognise book passages btw :)
I’m both a sucker for being surprised and a sucker for getting things straight out of the books haha
@@KritterXDDidn't think I would love the non book version so much!
Definitely DEFINITELY down for more episodes per season
Hahaha it takes a big person to admit they were wrong! It def could’ve gone either way, but I don’t hate being right 😎
Lanfear: Oh Ishy, You and your complicated subtle plotting! You want Mat in Falme? Here you go.
The greatest thing in this video happened around the 16 minute mark…when I noticed your nails! They are fantastic 🤩
Haha thank you!!!
What a brilliant episode
SO good
Very intrigued, maybe the Mat/Flicker is how he gets his memories instead of a certain door?
I think of Harry Potter every time I see Katie Leung who plays that eidetic brown sister that helps Verin. Also, lanfear knowing how to open the gates? Hmmm. Weren't The Waze built after the Forsaken were sealed? And yes, I had to look up how you spell eidetic. Oh, and he's knowledge of tied off weaves early compared to the books?
I thought they were built during the AOL but were corrupted after the Frosaken were sealed and Saidin tainted, but I haven't read that part in a while so not sure
That moment where Lanfear doesn't kill Siuan could have had her say "It's too early to let the Lord of Chaos rule."
"They're baiting the bookcloaks" I can't stop laughing 😂😂
Dear @kritterXD, I love, love, love your reactions! With your book knowledge and experience of the material, it make what you're saying that much more grounded and powerful, and less hype. Thank you so much! 🙂
Really enjoy your enthusiasm and ability to love both the books and the show as separate entities.
-Lan, Rand, Moraine and Lanfear in the Ways....prediction of friction and violence in the air....or kidnapping !
-Ishy really touching the face of alot of people; Rand, Trollock, Lanfear, Perrin and now Matt.....Kinky Ishy ! 😈
-With one hour left (hope will be 1h30 or 2) the pacing and action will be crazy and hope breath taking.
I’ll admit it. I’m obsessed with Lanfear

Perfect timing! I just finished watching the episode on Amazon and this video was posted. I was partially correct about Moraine being shielded. I thought the knot would be broken with Ishy dying. I still want Ishy to die. lol
I was thinking that too! Cutting the weaves makes sense tho, and explains why they changed Logain’s Talent from the books!
Ishy dying....not before I saw his face when he realise how wrong he was about Matt (Ishy:" Matt is mine since birth".) I want to see that words swallow with full of amertume and ego's brusing in Ishy's throat.
With Mins Vision, do you think Mat is responsible for one of the never healing wounds of Rand after the Battle of Falme?
I’m beginning to think he is. But I can’t help but believe there’s a good reason for it
I love youuuuuu. I've been waiting for this reaction all day. What an episode, cannot wait for the finale next week. I fear that Mat is going to go stabby and I don't know how that is going to be redeemable.
How is Siuan able to just turn up and shield Rand / bat Lan aside like that? Is that not using the One Power as a weapon, i.e. against the oaths?
Shielding someone isn’t using the power as a weapon. At that point she also might’ve suspected they were darkfriends
Rand beginning to weave was a threat to her, which she is allowed to defend.

New Spring Spoliers
I remember back when New Spring was released, there was humour around the searchers looking at every baby born in a month in a wide geographical range, instead of just Dragonmount. The Black Ajah even more so.
Mat is still tied to the Dagger. In the books it wasn't really an issue but the way they are doing it here it really is---so I hope we like how they are fleshing this out. And yes, he will have a glorious redemption arc.
Some real tear-jerking stuff.

I can't remember any mention in the books about what the Tower laws said the Amyrlin Seat is supposed to do when the Dragon is reborn, but I do remember that what Siuan said in the show is what a certain Red sister planned to do. I think they made it as a part of Tower laws for that plot. We know that the Reds act as Tower Law enforcers. I also think that the event in early s3 will be the result of Siuan not immediately following the Tower laws, which resulted in the Dragon Reborn escaping to Falme with a Forsaken.
I think you’re on to something. Maybe not law in the books, but has to be law in the show since she said it (or at least her understanding of the law)
will we ever hear the Mat's war cry of the Manateran cavalry..

Rands voice when he says I want live in your cage. There are two voices. Listen cearfully.
This episode really took a step back
As for the Lan thing --- not perfect: it would have been good if it weren't for the subject matter. The Aes Sedai always treat everything to do with the one power as a 'need to know' thing and somehow Lan is the one who knows about random channeling stuff from the age of legends that Moraine does not? Okay...
Hey nice reaction! Im not a book reader but it makes me glad to see people engage with this show positively since i see a LOT of very mad book readers
My personal theory regarding the whole leaving with lanfear thing is that moiraine is going to try and “deal with her” to protect rand somehow.
MILD book spoiler about one power mechanics
Rand could learn to shield his dreams from Lanfear in the same way she was shielding him from Ishy.
👀
I think the "flicker" is a "tricker". Mat's arc is my favorite.
Do you think Suian was under compulsion?
I think Siuan will regret it. Her face showed regret
I love #Siuaraine so much😍😍 Siuan is so cute🥺 she was just afraid of Rand turning bad or mad
Moiraine will forgive her.
Lanfear. thats all
99% sure Mat either is working a double agent gig and pretending to go along with Ishie, or will flip in the next episode. But the show changes enough that it can keep that tension, you never *know*
WOT book spoilers
.
Siuaraine was a gift we had for 2 seasons we didn't have before. Sometimes even the bestest ships sink. These changes don't really change the rest of the story. Mo and Siuan don't meet in the books after this point.
Gentled Logain in the books couldnt see male weaves .. when Halima was around right ?
(I don't believe for a minute that the tea shows past lives.)
Mat hasn't made any choices, really, since he picked the dagger up; he's been swept up by events and used as Ishy's chew toy.
(Not going to mention the book thing I think is going to be part of this, but I think you can guess.)
(Also, Siuaraine isn't over!
Omg Rand should have called Lanfear "Mierian" (sp?) without realizing it when asking for help in the dream. Missed opportunity
Lan = MVP 💪💪
I'm taking it as Logain is more experienced and can better read the weaves and Rand needs to hold Saidin to focus and see/understand the weaves
Suirene is over? :(
In the first episode of the show, Tam dropped the line that the purpose of the Wheel is to make each incarnation a little better than the last.
Most of what he channeled was out of necessity and instinct
Logain could see the Aes Sedai around him and that they were maintaining a shield so he knew there was something to fight against. Based on the show, the Aes Sedai don't know that a shield can be tied off, so she didn't know that there was something she could break/fight. I don't remember if they had her even try to reach out for it or if she just stopped trying so as not to get (more) depressed
I could have sworn Egwene figured out she was a dreamer while she was in falme. So far, we've only seen a small hint.
Hmmmmm I don’t remember this. You could totally be right though.
Egwene suspects she is a Dreamer since early in The Great Hunt. On the way to Tar Valon she talks to Anaiya (the motherly blue Aes Sedai) about her odd dreams and that is when Anaiya first introduces the idea of Dreaming to Egwene and the reader.

@@Vanbedda Def will be exploit in season 3, for sure.
The show has done a great job of humanizing Lanfear and Liandrin. I like them both. However, there is no way in the world of Jordon that Lan and Moraine got through the Ways with Lanfear leading. That is the big WTF moment for this episode.
