Trailer is absolutely BANGING and this breakdown is legit incredible. I don't know how you pull these together so quickly! My only hope is that the season lives up to the trailer hype. S2 trailer was similarly incredible but the season itself was a bit plodding at times. SUPER happy about the change to widescreen, I always thought the show needed a more cinematic look (and it's something I did for my S1 fan edit). It just looks that much grander with more elbow room for scale.
Amazing breakdown! Thanks for your detailed and thoughtful ideas. One question, if a 4k version gets released will you do an updated or new video on what it may reveal ?
Re: Moghedien not leading the potential Darkfriend social in Tanchico --- recall how Liandrin and Moghedien first met, when Liandrin tried her little Compulsion-lite trick on Moghedien and was summarily smacked down by the Forsaken. I bet that's what just happened before that shot.
I am beyond happy you are back, already the opening music makes me very very happy :-D How you are able to catch all of these nitty gritty details and put them together beautifully in no time is beyond me... Fantastic breakdown, Lauren! S3 is going to be amazing! So much hinted at in the teaser and so much more we know will be happening. Glad we only have to wait 3 months!
I've just started reading book 6, but so far my favourite storyline has been Perrin and the battle of Two Rivers. If they give the entirety of episode 7 to it I would not mind a single bit!

Well done. ***Book spoilers!*** It's disappointing Mat likely won't see Rhuidean this season, but not necessarily the worst thing ever. 31:59 I don't know what you mean about this being a "mystery woman", it's literally Elayne, lmao. Not even speculation, that is objectively her. I'm guessing she's wearing a disguise to stay hidden in Tanchico. 33:10 Also, the "mystery person that you can't quite place" is 100% Moghedien. Though she does feel out of place just hanging out in the background with the evil Emond's Field 5.
That's very possible, but I don't think it's the same actor. They certainly look similar, but it's not Elayne (unless, as you say, it's a disguise and they've modified her face with prosthetics or extreme makeup?) I also thInk that's Moghedien in that Ways scene, but I'm not 100% sure. Her hair seems close to Faile's hair.
@@UnravelingthePattern I think it's Elayne wearing a hat and thicker eyeliner. Prosthetics or extreme makeup aren't always necessary to make someone look noticeably different. I, for example, rarely wear regular full-face makeup, and on one occasion when I did my own dad didn't recognise me until I spoke to him.
@@heather1485 Agreed, it's definitely Elayne. Thought the voiceover was about a different scene for a minute or I was missing something when he was speculating about who it could be 😂
I think the scene with Liandrin removing her veil is Liandrin and the other Black Ajah who fled in Tanchico. I also think the scene with Moggy and Liandrin is from earlier in the season. Moggy telling Liandrin that the Elayne, Egwene and Elayne will return shortly to the Tower and expose her as Black. Moggy orders Liandrin to have other Black Sisters steal some objects of power. During the theft, they will be discovered and the fighting occurs. I think Moiraine going to Star Valon is just a vision she sees. I would be shocked if it is real. I cannot imagine Rand going to Tar Valon and I do not see Moiraine leaving Rand's side.

Great breakdown! I think easter-eggs like the snakes are examples of anti-foreshadowing-callbacks to fan-favorite elements that have been cut. This saddens me, but I've come to accept it. Looking forward to "I win again, Moiraine." Feel like the climactic battle in the finale will be between her and Lanfear, saving Rand vs. Asmo for another season.
You are a gift to the fandom! Spectacular work, such detailed analysis, helpful editing, all the bells and whistles! You continually astound and amaze!
All these tests and visions really make it hard to figure out what's going on. But that means they can put a lot more into these trailers without really spoiling everything
I watched s1 but wasn't really hooked. Some episodes were better than others, just like in any other series. When s2 arrived I started watching it, but only a few episodes, still not hooked. I then somewhere read that the series was based on a book series, and I started listening to the books narrated by Rosamund Pike and was totally captivated. Having watched the episodes really helped me as I could put faces on the characters when hearing the story in the books. After listening to the first one, I went back and watched s1 and the full s2 and it was like it was a totally different story. Now I was hooked, no doubt about that. I'm currently listening to Lord of Chaos, which I believe is the sixth book, and I am so looking forward to the third season of the show.
There are two other statues in that room, one on each side that you can see the bases of. Look at how the statues start from the floor and and look at both sides of the shot and you can see there are at least 2 more statues in the shot.
That's a plausible theory. My theory about it is somewhat similar. I am thinking that we might get shown Elayne's accepted test as well as Egwene's and that that scene is from there.
Mystery character in that darkened shot @ 33:55 , thats absolutely Moghedien(hope i spelled that correctly)- i have become obsessed with her and soo curious how this actress will do the forsaken member justice!! I am so 50/50 angry/happy about march 13th release . Thats 4 months away.... Its gonna go by soooo slow . The WAIT best be worth IT!!❗❗❗p.s. favorite part was the SAME scene i referenced above^^^, i am in love with telanrhiod LANFEAR!!!THE black latex type outfits right up to that off the hook hair accessory....costume designer deserves lots of props👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❗❗
So ready for season 3 just bought the books this should give me enough time to start reading them and rewatch the first 2 seasons lol before the new season launches!! Great breakdown thanks you!
Wow Lauren fantastic! And I'm with you on Moiraine & Siuan. I have been hoping all along we were seeing Daes Dae'mar played by two masters. If they don't get closure I may cry.
Amazing job as always Lauren! I think the scene with Liandrin and Lanfear is in TAR. Liandrin would definitely dream of sitting on that chair. The Black Ajah are supposed to have stolen dream ter’angreal, and even if it isn’t a huge focus, it’s as simple as someone reporting that a bunch of dream ter’angreal were taken. The scene with Moiraine in regalia made me think of her as Queen of Cairhien, I didn’t even consider her being the Amrilyn.
I love how they added depth to the filming in S3, as you said, it seems much more like a film! But I am a bit sad about the size of Alcair Dal - not sure if it’s my imagination or if it was really depicted like that in the books. I imagined it much bigger and holding many more people than that. I also thought it would be a bit more closed, almost as a bowl, so his voice could echo from the middle. But we’ll see! Can’t wait for march now 😊
I've seen multiple videos that combine Liandrin leaving with the tower coup. I don't think these will be combined. I think Liandrin leaving will help lead to the coup. In fact, if Alanna loses a warder during the escape, she may not come to Siuan's defense.
Interesting theory, I could definitely see that happening. Perhaps the Black Ajah reveal will be early in the episode and the complete Tower split/coup will happen by the end of the same episode? Or do you think they'll happen at different times?
@@UnravelingthePattern I think different times, just like in the books. They escape, then Siuan sets the girls on their hunt. After that we probably don't get a lot of WT scenes, but Elaida starts to make her move and part of the argument to oust Siuan is due to the BA escape, which included people dying on her watch. I actually see the coup happening in the 2nd half of the season. There is a lot more nuance in the books, but the logic behind it in the show will be the disaster with Liandrin leaving, and Siuan's allies not being around. Alanna might have helped her but her warder has just died. That'll probably be enough to make it make sense, combined with what they've already made clear which is the Red Ajah are mean girls. I don't think the coup happening immediately in the same episode would make sense. Plus if it's going to be Elaida, I feel they should introduce us first to get to know her character before she takes over.
"What if they do this or what if they do that that's in the books?" For two seasons I've been more hurt than enchanted. Let's hope they do rectify Perrin and Mat's stories. Also let's hope it's not too late otherwise there won't be a Season 4.
I'm almost at the end of book 4. I really hope they stay true to the source material this season. This book is packed with important moments. They can't be cheap and cut out half of it in the show! I did not see Lord Luc/Slayer, Thom, Domon, Julian, Egeanin and the Panarch. I hope that shot of Perrin is when he is defending Emmond's Field against the Trollocs. At 32:05 that could be Egeanin.
21:41 My thought was Egwene's accepted test, Her and Rand marrying (could be some form of Two Rivers bedding ceremony) but with you pointing out that Rand's outfit matches what he is wearing in the Waste I am pretty sure I was wrong.
Thinking about the man with the cloak - could this be asmo accompanying Rand to Al cair Dan? Then he gets unmasked for helping couladin with the tattoos/as forsaken
So this and other stuff I've heard made me think of a thing or two Mat connected. If he does go with the girls to Tanchino instead of Julin (which really does make some sense), he could end up in the Panarch's Palace where he could, if they so wanted, either enter the Doorway there or encounter something similar. My only question will be how he stumbles upon leading an army if he isn't in a battle, but hey who knows, he might step into the Doorway in one place and step out somewhere entirely different, they do love to flash him about the lands quickly. Mostly just not sure how his story will play out if he continues to remain with the girls. Like being there at the start can make some sense, but at some point he has to go his own way to kickstart his stuff. Here's to hoping they have a creative idea for that.
@UnravelingthePattern hmm it feels as if they're trying to do Egwene and the girls book 3 plotline, but instead of Tear they head for Tanchino. Which would then make sense why Mat is with them, as that's also his storyline in the books. Maybe we don't get Egwene meeting the Aiel Dreamer (it's 3 am her name escapes me 😅) until she's physically in Tanchino trying to dream about finding what Liandrin is there for? Because if so, she would then have to divert and head to the Aiel, and Mat accompanying out of some need to keep her safe if she's otherwise alone would have them both ending up where they need to be, albeit a little late. But just a late night random theory lol.
I feel like they'll combine Tanchico and Tear as far as Black Ajah hunting goes with Mat also in his Dragon Reborn "get lucky, beat up Elayne's brothers, go to Tear, save the girls" plotline. With Rand I feel like they will have Rhuidean and Shadow Rising be in the early season and then have him lead the Aiel to Tear/Tanchico at the climax. Reversing the book order of Tear and Rhuidean. (Mat hopefully gets a nice hat and a proper ashandarei some other way since he won't be in the Waste, perhaps via doorway in "Tanchico")
@@melaniev9446 oh I didn't think of that! I think the girls' plotline in Tanchico may be more or less the same, but Mat could overhear somewhere they're setting up a trap for the girls and go to rescue them like he does in TDR.
Big if, but IF they have Mat go through a red-framed doorway in the Tower's basement OR the Panarch's palace, perhaps Nynaeve and Egwene will save/revive him after being hanged. Then if/when he saves them in the Stone they can call it even and drop the annoying, multiple-books-long, "the girls won't thank Mat" subplot.
not sure if its just me but it looks like the channeling has taken another quantum leap forward in terms of quality, love the looks of the threads of spirit in what is presumably Egwenes testing .
1) Sure hope Lan and Perrin get their sacks back this season. 2) Hope Rhuidean is amazing. I don't mind Moiraine being there instead of Mat since the show kinda got sidetracked with the actor issues and Rosamund has been great 3) Egwene and Nynaeve have been pretty spot on except perhaps a little too OP over the boys? 4) Moiraine/Siuan - sure interesting fan fiction but can we stop making it a whole plotline? 5) Mf'rs better pur Matt vs Gawyn/Galad and I don't care how broken the continuity is...... LOL
As always, superb breakdown! I have loved the show (S1E8 aside; I just pretend that episode didn’t happen) and am hoping S3 blows up and gets this show out there in the general populace. S2 was great, but it didn’t get the attention it deserved. I’ll be at JordanCon this year, and likely WoTCon too. Hope to see you at one or both! If the release schedule is the same as in prior years (3 episodes on 3/13), S3E8 will come out the week before JordanCon. I hope instead they only release 2 episodes on 3/13/25, in which case S3E3 would happen the night before JordanCon.
Wheel of time might never become big because amazon doesn't market it properly. Teaser should have come out about 2 to 3 months ago, propper trailer this month, then a 2nd trailer maybe next month. Maybe a sneak peak or another teaser the month after, and all the while releasing posters, interviews, and what not. Here's to hoping the pacing of season 3 is good and we actually get rand becoming rand we know at this point in the books. Lord of chaos is not far now and current rand wouldn't need a full circle to put him in box lol, 1 aes sedai would be enough :)
I'm excited for everything we are seeing in this trailer. But mostly I just want to leave a comment reminding everyone here to ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO WATCH THE SHOW. 🥺🙏🏼 Please! We aren't guaranteed a 4th season you guys. This show hasn't been given a Billion dollar green light like The Rings of Power has. Wheel of Time can only continue or improve from here... *IF* the audience numbers improves. But it has unfortunately lost viewers since its season 1 debut, and the studio needs to see the show earning those viewers back, and/or increasing in some capacity, or the showrunners wont be able to make the case that it is worth keeping around. I'm NOT trying to be a Debbie Downer here, in fact... just the opposite! I have come here to remind us all that we CAN make a difference, if we start encouraging our family, friends & coworkers to give seasons 1 & 2 a chance, before March 13th, so that all of them will be ready to watch season 3 right along with the rest of us. It is up to US you guys. 💪🏽😤🐉🔥 WE GOT THIS. We've already seen budgets slashed & cancellations happen to loads of other amazing shows that we cared about in the past, both on this streaming platform, as well as on others, have we not? And it doesn't help that the book series has never gained the noteriety or popularity that other fictional series have. Maybe to fantasy readers, sure... but it's not received the mainstream appeal of a Harry Potter or a Chronicles of Narnia, or Lord of the Rings, etc. Its a fantasy series thats 14 books long for crying out loud. lol Most folks don't have the patience, time or energy to invest in something like that these days. For most people, this show will be their ONLY window into this world. And if it doesnt do well... we might not see another Wheel of Time adaption in our lifetimes. We must be vigilant! I want to encourage everyone to do their part in helping this property to continue & find success. If you know somebody who was disappointed w/the past seasons of the show & decided to give up on it... plead with them to AT LEAST give the 1st three episodes of season 3 a watch when they debut on March 13th. Hype 'em up! However, most people you know will have never seen the show, so... encourage them to give it a try. Show them this latest trailer, and fill them in on all that they have been missing. If every single fan of the show can encourage at least 3 more people to give it a chance... we CAN save it, and prove to Amazon that its worth keeping around! I'm counting on ya'll to do your part. 😅 haha Don't let me down! WE GOT THIS.
Impressed by how fast you got this incredible breakdown up, thank you! Spoilers from book 13, Towers of Midnight: I think/hope so very much that the clips of Moiraine floating upside down are actually a foreshadowing to or even actual imagery from her imprisonment in the Tower of Ghenjei/Finnland later on! As one of the futures she actually sees and is able to choose from, when settling on her next step after Rhuidean. It would be lots of sad if they cut the Thom-part of that storyline though, and I don’t really see them have time to establish the reason for his letter during season 3 if I interpret the Lanfear battle coming now.
I didn't even talk about the RELEASE DATE NEWS! March 13th!!! WooHoo! What was your favorite part of the teaser trailer?

After listening to the first one, I went back and watched s1 and the full s2 and it was like it was a totally different story. Now I was hooked, no doubt about that. I'm currently listening to Lord of Chaos, which I believe is the sixth book, and I am so looking forward to the third season of the show.
There are two other statues in that room, one on each side that you can see the bases of. Look at how the statues start from the floor and and look at both sides of the shot and you can see there are at least 2 more statues in the shot.
I think the Elayne seen is from TAR and she wills the crown onto herself while figuring out how it all works
Oh! I love that theory!
@UnravelingthePattern tha KS:) it also explains why there's the Andor crown in what seems to be Tar Valon. Man, I just want it out already 😤😤
That's a plausible theory. My theory about it is somewhat similar. I am thinking that we might get shown Elayne's accepted test as well as Egwene's and that that scene is from there.
@@gokbay3057This is what I thought too. Elayne’s Accepted Test…
@gokbay3057 ahhh, that's good. Nyneave's test wasn't blurry or anything so it's possible that's it. Damn, makes more sense than mine
Can't tell if I am more excited for the teaser or for Lauren's breakdown of it!
Perfect as always! You do such an amazing job each and every time you break down a video. The best I e ever seen!
you are incredible 😭 i love your detailed break downs so much! thank you for all your hard work!!
Im so excited for this season. I cannot wait!
I am UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED FOR THIS SEASON! GREEN LIGHT SEASON 6 ALREADY!!!!
So ready for season 3 just bought the books this should give me enough time to start reading them and rewatch the first 2 seasons lol before the new season launches!! Great breakdown thanks you!
Great breakdown as always. Very fast too! Looking forward to this; Book 4 is perhaps my favorite as well (at least of the first 10, lol).
No one's talking about Evil Mat in a crop top.
Can’t wait for march now 😊
Truly incredible how you are able to break down a 1 minute trailer into this massive 35 minute breakdown. You have a talent.
I'm going to rewatch series alongside your unravelling.
It'd be so cool if in the Tanchico palace there's a skeleton of a Eelfin or Aelfin if they aren't going to include them
great breakdown! agree that moiraine's visions give a flicker-flicker vibe, i felt that too
Elaybe with a smokey eye is so unrecognisable we've all been fooled into thinking she's a mystery woman
I mean, I guess the disguise (if that is what it is) is effective lol.
The work, research and editing !!! Inspired !!!
In the shot shown at 10:02 you can see the exact same design on the glass windows at the top of the tower on the right
Did you notice what looked like a gate behind Liandrin in the fight with Alanna? 25:26 looks like a gate to somewhere else! 😊
I keep thinking about how you spotted the pattern match in the stained glass. And you did this so quickly. You have an incredibly keen eye.
I like that theory!
That was my first thought too. I hope we get Asmo this season!
I think the cuts on Mat’s neck are from the attack of the playing cards during the Bubble of Evil.
Aaahhhh. So happy our world is back in business when you do a video!
My thoughts exactly. Door frames can be anywhere, but at some point he has to connect back with Rand. How will they do that?
Excellent breakdown Lauren! With you on every point!
not sure if its just me but it looks like the channeling has taken another quantum leap forward in terms of quality, love the looks of the threads of spirit in what is presumably Egwenes testing .
In Mat's main/only shot, his shirt looks like it's brocade to me, so that would be new.
As always, this was phenomenal.
I didn't even know there was going to be a season 3! Im so happy!
1) Sure hope Lan and Perrin get their sacks back this season.
2) Hope Rhuidean is amazing. I don't mind Moiraine being there instead of Mat since the show kinda got sidetracked with the actor issues and Rosamund has been great
3) Egwene and Nynaeve have been pretty spot on except perhaps a little too OP over the boys?
4) Moiraine/Siuan - sure interesting fan fiction but can we stop making it a whole plotline?
5) Mf'rs better pur Matt vs Gawyn/Galad and I don't care how broken the continuity is...... LOL
Isn't the mystery woman at 32:00 Elayne in tanchico clothing and make up? and the mystery woman in the last Lanfear scene Moghedien?
No to your first question (I think) and probably yes to your second question.
It’s definitely Ceara Coveney with blond dyed hair so who else would it be other than Elayne?
Awesome breakdown as always. Thank you
As always, superb breakdown!
Thanks for this excellent breakdown! I'M SO SO SO EXCITED! ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN! And it's dropping FOUR days after my birthday! 💚
Also that's _definitely_ Moghedien in that final shot. No doubt in my mind at all. I'm honestly surprised you aren't certain!
Excellent breakdown, as always!
After two seasons of ok, I am tentatively hopeful for some good with season 3. Thanks for an excellent breakdown!
the Moraine bloody visions has left-to-right, Perrin, Moghedien, Elayne, Mat, Landear, Aviendha, Egwene, Rand. Interesting there's no Nynaeve?
I just want to tell you, your breakdown videos are amazing. Season three looks to be a great one.
Thanks so much!
I just realised you now have more subscribers than Dusty Wheel 🙌🙌🙌 love you both but so so happy and proud for you Lauren.
Brilliant stuff, thank you so much Lauren. Exhaustive, as ever.
Lol, but hopefully not exhausting 😅
@@UnravelingthePattern NEVER!
Fantastic breakdown! Thank you. I read the books and still love this show. Never thought we would get this on the screen. Blessed.
I tend to agree. It was a real mistake to release a teaser so late on a Saturday (in my opinion).
They didn't make it properly either
WE GOT THIS.
i encourage people to read the books, this reimagined version is a complete failure.
Thanks for posting. This would have been a lot of work. More hopeful for S3 being closer to the books and better.
As usual a very through analysis. Thank you very much
Great breakdown and SO FAST kudos Lauren
Lanfear stole the show for me in season 2 , so excited to see her again
It’s Sophie O’s voice. There is no question. Recognizing voices are my superpower.
Great video as always
Wooo! Great work as always!
Impressed by how fast you got this incredible breakdown up, thank you!
Spoilers from book 13, Towers of Midnight:
I think/hope so very much that the clips of Moiraine floating upside down are actually a foreshadowing to or even actual imagery from her imprisonment in the Tower of Ghenjei/Finnland later on!
Also, don’t you think Couladin’s outfit is an aesthetic way to tell non-readers that his elevation wasn’t true, or influenced by a Forsaken?
Did anyone notice rand's hand position at 14:45. I feel like I saw Louis Theron holding that pose at some point in the show.
The Coramoor congratulates for this breakdown.
