Before anyone freaks out saying "this is not like Amy" or "wtf is this shit" maybe you should do some research or watch War Story and maybe you can get a clue. THIS IS A SOUNDTRACK not an actual album! At least be happy she is releasing something for her fans to hear, she could chose to release nothing if she wanted to, so be happy with what she has to offer.

I agree, yes it's different to what Amy normally does and does I guess sound like a electro-pop song, but it's a soundtrack and not an actual solo album, cause I bet if she did realize a solo album it would probably have more classical or rock put into it, plus it's not like she's releasing this song as a hit single for the charts. so it's a bit private and she's trying new things. Soundtrack albums are meant to be like this and it's not like she's using auto-tune, she's actually singing like she always does. These people have to realize that it's not gonna be like Evanescence. I think push the button is a cool song. I wonder if these people know that is is Amy Lee's ACTUAL UA-cam Channel and that she can read all of these comments (Including the Hate Comments) or even reply if she wanted to. I absolutely love this, and the fact that Amy's exploring different avenues. Writing music for a film was something she's wanted to do for a long time, and she finally was able to do it. The fact that she's able to transition from one genre to the next without a hitch just goes to show how talented she is. I'm a huge Evanescence fan, and it's refreshing to know that the lead singer of the band I love is keeping her talents alive.

The score of a movie is meant to be guided by the director's way. Evanescence have no label, no distributor, no publisher and, let's be honest, Amy's heart is no longer in Evanescence. She has wanted to be solo for years and the rumour is that she sued the label to dissolve Evanescence and remove contractual obligations so as to get on with her life.

@@morganc.m1830 While I can't understand that on a personal level, I can empathize. PTSD in general isn't fun and I do suffer from it to some degree, but for it to be dealing with something like that specifically has to be its own kind of hell and I'm sorry you've had to go through that.
I can also understand what you're saying to a degree because I, myself am greysexual and tend to lean toward demiromanticism, but not everyone does. That may be one reason why Amy put this song out. Her own feelings and not ours. And of course, you're allowed to be disappointed, but ultimately, this is Amy's music and not ours. That's what I was trying to say in my comment above. That maybe one of the reasons for this song's existence is Amy wanting to break a little bit away from the things expected of Evanescence.

Not my favourite song but seriously people, she has been through so much shit with her label and the pressure of being a generic rock band. Evanescence was brilliant when it started and her label pushed her to more 'mainstream'.I applaud her for going independent and finding a new style, its brave. Give her time to find what works, her voice is AMAZING. Love her, I know she will succeed.

I had expectations set to the sky with this new album and on my first listen I loved the album but thought I had set my expectations maybe far too high. However, on a second listen I just absolutely LOVED IT!!! I've been the hugest Evanescence fan since the release of Fallen, and yes, this definitely has a very different sound from what we are used to but I love the new side Amy is experimenting with. People that are complaining about this new change need to listen to the whole album before passing on judgment (especially Lockdown). I love her new instrumental songs, have always loved Evanescence's instrumentals (Eternal and the intro of Good Enough is def the epitome of this!). Anyhow I do hope Evanescence does get back together but definitely am looking forward to more solo releases!!!!! Keep up the awesome work Amy!!! :D

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but please consider expressing it as such and not as a "fact" like you think it is. I actually really enjoy this song and the album as a whole. I think it really demonstrates Amy's willingness to grow as an artist and explore unfamiliar territories. She still has a penchant for layers, complex vocal harmonies, and interestingly enchanting melodies and I find that that shows here even with the pulsing rhythm, which I think many fans can't seem to find it in themselves to look past simply because it's Amy making a techno song.

This entire album is extraordinary and I can't stop singing its praises. It's now in rotation with Delerium's catalog for music to write and work by. Totally unexpected. May not be for everyone, but I am obsessed with it. Genius.
I can't believe so many people can not understand that this album is a soundtrack to a movie, not an Evanescence album. And that an artist can try other genres instead of what everyone familiarizes them with. It might be different, but its still Amy. She is more than just Evanescence, she's and artist and a musician, and she's just painting on a different canvas right now. I happen to think that this song is great, I love to sing along, its a fun song. And I don't like today's pop, I don't consider it music, just nonsense really. But this song conveys an emotion, its not just a bunch of gibberish.
I think many people are too afraid of change. Everyone is used to her rockin out that its a shock to the system to listen to anything other than that. I think you have to look past that though, she's more than loud guitars, her voice and lyrics have so much depth she can do anything she wants and it will give me chills. This is just my opinion that I hold to be true. I don't think you should hate something just because its different and not what you are used to. If you want to hear something like the old albums then listen to the old albums. She's in a new chapter of her life and the tone of the book is changing.

Doesn't anybody recall that it has been Amy's personal dream for many years to compose film music? Remember the rumours about the intro to 'Good Enough', supposedly written for the Narnia film (which unfortunately did not make it)... It is difficult to get 'in' with the right people in the industry despite being a world renowned rock artist. Amy finally has her foot in the doorway. Who cares if Evanescence as a band did not write the music. When was the last time you heard of bands composing film music in anyway? So what if Amy had to write a song such as this for a sex scene so she could get the deal. Another 'My Immortal' would have felt out of place, but I can assure you there are some tracks on the rest of the album that is just as emotional and beautiful despite the lack of her vocals. And to be truly fair to everyone saying she's 'sold out'. Have a good listen at Evanescence once more. 'Push the Button' has many of those elements just written in another genre. Evanescence has always made use of electronic sounds (My last breath; Snow White Queen or even pre-Fallen material - Eternal). The haunting/sliding 'ooh'/'aah' backing vocals are even comparable to that of 'Cloud Nine' or 'Loose Control'. Amy is an incredibly creative person and I think its wrong to judge her like this when her outlook on the world has always been about open-mindedness.

The sing itself is good, besides the moaning, and I don't mind her trying new things and doing new things. Thats completely fine, but it's just the fact that this triggers my fear responses and the fact that my favorite singer has created something that has been the topic if something that has been ruining my whole life and affecting me everyday.

Listen up people. Amy is not different in the slightest. She still is our gorgeous amazing singer. She has a child on the way maybe she wanted to alter her style of music for her child's sake. Maybe something clicked in her life and she doesnt feel the need to be so "dark" I love Amy Lee's Fallen album, I love it all. Let her experiment other styles of singing/music without her fans hating on it. Voice your opinion but not in a hateful mannor like "disgusting" "terrible" "i want the old amy back because this one sucks" Evanescence, Amy Lee keep doing what you are doing!

Wow. I'm sorry, but the immaturity and bashing of this song and Amy, just because she did something DIFFERENT is just very angering and stupid. Anyone who would read, listen to or watch interviews with Amy would know she has electronic influences from the artists she listens to. Anyone would know that Evanescence's music DOES have electronic sounds it in and has had it in there since they began. Anyone would know that Amy is all for change and understands that change is necessary for growth (personal, mental, psychological, and physical). Amy has taught me this through things she has said. Also, Aftermath is a soundtrack album for the movie War Story. Maybe get the gist of what War Story is about before judging the way something sounds. I don't understand why so many fans are so mad about this song. Have you listened to the rest of the album?
Anyway, I love this song and Aftermath because of how different and atmospheric the sound is; it's inspiring and amazing! I've been waiting for this kind of sound from Amy since the first preview of the Lillywhite Sessions! :)

Damn, i wasn't expecting this from Amy Lee.
I love the entire album! Every song is very unique and different from Amy's previous work, it just shows how talented that woman is. Don't forget that Aftermath is "just" a soundtrack for the movie War Story, so I can't wait to listen more of her solo work!
By the way, Evanescence isn't over! The band will come back as soon as they are ready (Amy and Tim, both have become parents)

Do none of you Fans pay attention to Amy Lee?? This music perfectly embodies her & her taste. She loves interesting instruments, & experimenting with music. She's not afraid to push the limits. If you listen to some of the songs off the Latest Evanescence album, such as 'swimming home' she was headed toward a totally different sound. So she has taken this soundtrack above & beyond my expectations. It's beautiful, (still has signature Amy haunted-ness), it's different &you have to listen with an open mind. While this music is not for everyone, it's by no means "terrible" or "trash". It's much different from what I usually listen to but it's opened up my musical taste. I'm happy Amy got the chance to branch out & show us something different!

I think this is a good piece of work from Amy, it's more upbeat than what she usualy produces so that should be a good thing! Not usually a side we see from Amy but I personally love everything she produces. The good thing is she doesn't let haters bring her down, but peoples opinions are their own. I definitely was not expecting this to be honest. I LOVE IT! It's so different than what were used to! Amy Lee could put out an album of her gurgling water and I probably would still love it. I'm sad when everyone who says they stand behind her for whatever she does, turns their back on her without a second glance. It's fine, us REAL Amy Lee fans will always be there for her. I for one am excited to see where the future takes us :)
