Actually when Amy's father John first listened to it he cried too.
This is so much better than the album version. The vocals are absolutely flawless, raw, and so vulnerable. That deeper darker sounding string was what I was waiting to hear in the official album one and of course getting rid of all of the extra instrumentals and adjust being her a piano in a few strings is exactly what that song should’ve sounded like. This is just simply breathtaking and I too cannot believe she played this live.
This song describes the guilt that comes along with the anger of grieving a loved one's passing. Amy really captured this stage of grief incredibly. She really put all the feelings you go through into a 5 minute song. Everything from questioning God, to being unable to deal with the grief and the loved one's absence, to the fact that we lost them during COVID. This is all very personal to me as it is to Amy because I lost my dad a year ago...I went through intense deep depression that I am only just recently recovering from. I saw life as just so sad and dark, I saw death all the time, thought about it all the time, wished for it, but not in a suicidal way, more like a release kind of way. I was so tired, so drained, so fucking sad. "What if I can't see your light anymore?" "Is anyone out there did you give up on us?" are such personal lines. They hit home so fucking deeply.

Incredible artist Amy. You have always been a symbol for expression of those suffering and pushing through pain. And for those that noticed you are playing with your wrist bandaged. Not only the expression of pain and loss in the words but you are pushing through physical pain to perform when a lot of others would postpone the live performance until its healed.

I actually think that the wrist bandage is metaphorical. That wrist is the rest of that she has the Zelda tattoo the hearts with one of it missing because her and Robbie used to plays out all the time and she got that when he passed
