    Changing the fluid in a 4T80 want help the filter inside last longer. The fluid has already been through the filter.
    100% bs, super tech is not the same as Dextron six.

    How do you reset the transmission fluid life? I’ve tried with a handheld scan tool and a tech 2 and it won’t reset.

      I had a transmission fluid leak about 3-4 years ago, on my DTS ‘2006. Half the bolts were loose and 3 were missing :-/ Got bolts at the dealer and re-tightened everything.

    Great video! But I'm confused about something. I have a 2006 DTS performance Edition and the dipstick says dexron ||| but you said to use Dexron 6 . Is your dipstick or transmission different than mine? Your advice would be very appreciated thank you

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  6 років тому +6

      Hello Cadillac Rick any time that you see an older oil used in a vehicle and the company has come out with a new addition it is always safe to use the newer fluids so you want to run the Dexron 6

      Run what your owners manual says to use. Don’t always go off what someone tells you. That info isn’t in the book for shits and giggles

    Hello came across this video I just bought a 09 caddilac dts with 132,000 miles on it, I checked the transmission dipstick but not reading much so I am assuming I need to fill it up or change it out, what do you think I should do would appreciate it!

      By the way, the car shifts great but I am concerned about the dipstick not ready any fluid

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  Рік тому +1

      You need to stick something down in there to see what color the transmission fluid is, it should a bright to slightly dull red color. If you cannot get it to read, then you need to add the appropriate fluid until you can read it on the dipstick. Then drive the car for 5 miles or so, then stick something white down there to see what color the fluid is again, the bright red, if it's not that color, you need to change it. Hope this helps Jonathan, thanks for watching and asking, have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC

      Bad shifts or slipping. Odd clunks.
      Cadillac recommends fluid exchange at 100K.

      Also my 05 tells you on dash when time to change fluids

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  8 місяців тому +1

      Pull your dipstick out and if your fluid isn't bright red you need to get it changed before there is a problem. Another way to tell is to take some of the transmission fluid out *maybe a tsp. and put a few drops onto a piece of white paper then use this amzn.to/3GzGi8U and if you see that the oil is full of shiney specs there's a good chance that your clutches are toast in your transmission. If the transmission is not slipping right now, you need to get your fluid changed before it starts if it's not that bright red I spoke of. Hope this helps Olivia, thanks for watching and asking, have a great day my friend. mad Mike & team

    I have a quick question about your filter change. I see in the video that there are two filters 1 you had taken off (the one in the back) but the other was still in the transmission. Were you not able to remove the second filter or did you just leave it in because it didn't matter?
