@Justinred87 I had watched your video while at work so I'm sure I missed alot of dialogue but I'd just like to give my two cents and possibly play devil's advocate. I was only a CM in my brief time in the Navy, not a trained bodyguard or infantryman. The reason the VIP's car didn't drive off down the same road the surviving team would escape down is perhaps they didn't want to risk another RPG shot. A couple of things are wrong with that though, such as the video didn't make it clear if the attackers wanted the vip dead or alive. Yes, he took a shot to the leg, but that's all the shooter could see so he wouldn't be able to confirm his identity. This could be supported by the sniper's reaction when he shot the vip at the end as it seemed he fired at a hostile first before realizing who it was. So, while they might not have used an RPG on the group as they were leaving on foot, they could have taken the risk of using it while he was in the armored car, (a risk the security team didn't want to make or perhaps the car was disabled offscreen) but this isn't something we or either side would really know, I'm afraid and it's all conjecture. A possible theory for the street being so empty is because they were armed soldiers/mercs literally lining the walls. The lack of police response could mean this goes high up, possibly a political figure and corrupted police chief blocking the area off and this is a ploy to eliminate a rival opponent. So your comment about wondering whose side the police would be on at the end is pretty damn valid. The scene where Lady Thicc played dead is a hiy or miss for me. Honestly, if I could choose, I'd never chance it. It's not a coin toss I'd risk my life on on whether they'd check my pulse via high velocity lead poisoning or not. I know I would put a burst into a sprawled hostile before I dismiss him as a threat. This only worked because their immediate attention was on the two 'living' threats just feet from them. She cut it pretty damn close since in reality, those 5.56 and/or 7.62 rounds would shred through those brick micro covers and there'd be alot more deaths earlier on that the firefight probably would not have progressed past the initial ambush point. I blame this more on the MMD engine, as we saw the security forces' bullets not even breaking through the windows of civilian cars earlier on while I fired 7.62s that go clean through red iron I-beams. In a further scene, yes, I cringed as well when Lady BellBottom ran down the middle of the alley to retrieve her friend. You made an excellent point. I was so focused at her being in the open and vulnerable to enemy fire that friendly fire from behind hadn't occurred to me. I will give the artist credit for realistic grenade explosions. For once, hand grenades don't have the explosive power of a block of C4. Suck on that, Hollywood. A problem with their staggered defensive tactic that I could see is that they were firing at enemies directly in front of them. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd have had them firing downrange at the hostile on the other side of the path so they'd have better angle on them while being further behind cover. Toss a flash downrange, have one push forward while both sides are suppressed by your guys on opposite sides of the respective alley and try to get a clear angle on them, or use said cover fire to make a staggered retreat, better if under cover of smoke. (They really were stingy with those things.) Toss a flashbang in there for insurance. The bigger problem with their decision to stay in position gave the sniper time to get a bead on them and the M14 EBR Chad wouldn't have had to bellyflop a grenade. Now, for the final scene, I can try to play devil's advocate but it is hard even in this scenario. I had to play psychology here that I'm certain the woman didn't do. Choosing to send the VIP unescorted and making a last stand. The obvious no-no is abandoning the package instead of rearming like we saw and then going with him, or at least checking the van and soldiers for keys to drive out of there. I can only hope in the most optimistic sense that there were no keys for the van. So, perhaps she hoped to eliminate the sniper that has been hounding them by engaging him in an enclosed environment where he has given away all of his advantages except for the aid of numbers and the accompanying superiority of firepower. However, that's a big 'IF'. While there's a certainty that the ground teams would come through, hopefully pincering her because they know she's gone towards their mission prep site, I can't understand why they would not warn their remaining team at the van ahead of time if the initial pincer meant to head them off failed. In accordance with that, there was no guarantee that the sniper, who has traversed the roof tops this whole time, wouldn't have stuck to them and picked off her and/or the VIP if she had gone with him. I don't know who held the idiot ball harder between the two. Then again, that's just from what I can see. I don't know how the rooftop route looked around the parking garage. Perhaps there wasn't one around it from his position and the quickest way to catch them would be through the garage where he'd have assurance in numbers, meaning more firepower and tactical flexibility. My final point is, I think we need to cut the Lady some slack. There's no way any of us if in the assailants' positions could foresee a lady moving that fast while carrying a dump truck in her pants this whole time. It's just inconceivable. If female Marine recruits could move like that, we wouldn't have to drop the standards so low. In conjunction, while some stuff can be explained by ignorance of the maker and technical limitations in the MMD, there are not enough psychologists in the world to justify some of the decisions here beyond human error via adrenaline and life and death risks every second. I reiterate, I'm not trained in VIP escorting and urban combat tactics beyond what some half-drunk Marine would show off. I can only watch this and give my best educated guesses. Will enjoy watching this again when off work to better hear your breakdown.
@@Lulu-ex7fc The answer is the artist is not a soldier. It's well made but like These guys are sporting GRENADES, FLASHES, freakin AUTOMATICS it's what, couple hundred to load up with some helmets, trauma kits, actual plates instead of these weird thingies? I... think they're wearing rhodesian recon vests. It's got style factor at least?? And like, they've been zapped by at least one rocket. Wanna, uh, spread out, maybe duck into the building... I get the problem though. Make that shot too wide, some people outta frame, can't go into buildings because this was originally an animator made to have anime women dance, and not have an intense gunfight... I mean it almost feels like a SWAT team from the 80s-90s era with the gearing. Shotgun, flashes, rifles and subguns, a DMR... Probably some tac police unit with almost exactly this. ...but, y'know, with helmets.
I wanna ask though. Is there any kevlar that can sustain that many 556, 762 and 9 mm in the last scene? I mean I heard that it is not the issue of penetration but more the shockwave that damage our body. Heck the sniper round that hit the helmet, is a military helmet really that strong?
@@apocryphaemiya9331 Realistically? Maybe. Modern ballistics gear is pretty good. Impact effects on a person are a contentious subject. She didn't eat that much lead, so... Probably? The sniper rifle thing only works if that's FMJ 7,62x51mm and it's an ECH. I'll bet the animator just used some high tek helmet model they had. It's Hollywood armor. It'll do its job until convenient not to.
Like the guy on the right said, weapon handling is probably the only military thing you get to learn as a civilian, I know there are ppl doing CQC training classes for regular civilians but those are rare and most ppl probably don’t know about them, I think just the fact that the creator of this animation took the time to at least try and make this as authentic as they could is sth to appreciate, most movies/ shows/ games don’t even have that in mind
i know there are plenty of comments about the communication, but i just wanted to let you know justin that the animator, Zen had no voice actors/actresses for this film. If you look at the anime chicks mouth you can see that she is mouthing off different things, and the animator is actually really good at showing what word or letter she is saying
Loved this reaction and breakdown. Even though this MMD ranks high as one of my favorite action MMDs I've ever seen, it was still a lot of fun to hear you guys tear down some of the tactics and point out the absurdities. The author of the video is Japanese, and most of his videos are on the light-hearted comedy side. I believe he mentioned on his twitter that this was his first attempt at something action-heavy; and I guess it shows. I applaud his efforts to try and blend theatrics and style with squad firefight tactics and a dash of suspension-of-disbelief. In the end, I was entertained. But after watching this video, it's almost like the author opened up a box that said "squad tactics" and just picked up and slapped on whatever looked cool without really thinking things through.
@@wolfensniper4012 100% agree with you on that one. I think this author did for MMD gunplay what Asatoshi did for MMD martial arts with his "Burning Meiling" series. Both authors have shown through their work that despite the limitations of the MMD engine, it's still possible to animate quality gunfights and martial arts fight sequences.
"Why didnt they just get in the car and leave?" I think its important to remember some things when talking about animation software like this. All the assets have to be made or collected, everything from models for people, cars, buildings, effects like fire, sky boxes and stuff. Same reason she was "mute". She wasn't actually mute, the comms were just implied because the author probably didnt have access to voice talent. So this was a semi-silent film in that regard, because noises are a super easy asset to collect. To show the car being damage and inoperable, you would need an asset for each stage of vehicle damage, each piece of metal that flies off, fire from the engine, crumple zone effects on the metal and on and on. Its not actually as simple as people think. The car being disabled was just implied, at least to me. Theres a lot of oddities that you guys pointed out that stem from this issue, like the TQ. A TQ would realistically only be in the shot for what? A few seconds of total film? I mean obviously everyone there would have one, but among a sea of other assets you have to track down or create, you have to prioritize what the viewer is going to be seeing and what makes sense from a film/entertainment perspective. In a film with no voice talent, putting on a TQ would be hard to make good drama. You could do it, but this is an action flick. Just my two cents from both army and amateur writing.
I'm also assuming that there's an implication that they cannot drive away due to other factors (like the truck) perhaps. Edit: Though it's probably the damage.
@@legonenen Or the assumption there were more foes waiting ahead. For example the RPG guy, with the time it took for him to appear probably due to the fact he had to relocate from his original position to the later one.
for the initial ambush, its hard to see since it happens fast but, i believe they cant peel away because they get locked in, lead vehicle is hit presumably with an RPG or maybe it found a mine, and the rear vehicle gets hit by the Semi which traps their rear escape. so they are effectively trapped. ive noticed many channels not noticing that detail so i figure i should spread the word.
though i do suppose they probably could have either rammed the lead vehicle out of the way or tried to drive down one of the alleys, idk. definitely more focus on the weapons handling and lots of holes in regards to flanking enemies, enemies in buildings etc. but an enjoyable watch.
Whoever said "You're still on duty" while she was dragging the dude had me spit my drink out. That was hysterical. Also, I would imagine her hand is gone after palming a flashbang against that dudes mouth.
15:45 I think the reason they stack together is so that they can communicate when one of them is gonna lean around and open up. The streets are narrow so you wouldn't want your buddy to lean into the bullets you're laying down range because you're behind him and he wasn't paying attention to you at the moment and wanted to open up as well. At least that's what I think. Edit: Oh it's not what you meant lol 😂
I watched this short film when it only had less than 100k viewers, i knew it would blow up. It was only a matter of time before military guys reacted to something like this.
Well I really loved the MMD animation. These men really know their stuff. Although they criticised the animation as something like Hollywood without knowing that this was done but just*one individual* This animation gave me like Jormundgand/Black Lagoon vibes. Totally loved it!!!
I watched this myself, absolutely loved it, and for MMD, something that isn't meant for anything but anime girls dancing, I say this stuff was absolutely top (and for a guy who only makes comedy, espically.) sure it's filled with the COD fan tactitard stuff but, absolutely solid action-drama movie
MMD is an animation software which is heavily optimized for handling and rendering about 3-8 dancing anime girls on screen at any one time. It is really really good at doing that. However, hyper optimization on dance choreography hinders its ability to handle much else.
@@f1r3hunt3rz5 9:29 Justin explains that perfectly. It's just a different term. First time i've heard that from my former S.W.A.T. instructors. If you will fire rounds that close to your partner you will get fired from a job immediately.
I suppose in regards to authenticity, "an attempt was made" which isn't a bad things. They wanted to add some authenticity to the action and they gave it a go and I do give some props to that. Kind of the equivalent of Die Hard where the guns aren't infinite ammo until convenient and Bruce gets fucked the f up over the course of the movie. Not realistic but the flavor is definitely there and adds to the package, IMHO. EDIT: And of course 99% of the time "rule of cool"/"service to the narrative" outweighs everything
well, what these guys kinda forgot is the sniper guy when he pulls out a pistol, he uses CAR stance, i mean not a lot of movies and animation uses this stance, beside john wick and games like splinter cell conviction and above.... hate all you want, but its just my statement, i only wanted to point this out first hand....
Tactically this video makes one raise an eyebrow, you guys a lot more than that, hahaha, but it is absolutely entertaining from start to finish. For me it just makes me happy that this animation is going somewhat viral, as I hope it will lead to more, and hopefully more realistic animations down the line.
on one hand, i love that people who actually did time in the military are talking about this. On the other hand, it was only slightly rattling to have them speak negatively about the same video. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, VERY APPRECIATED. And to see people who have actual experience not only react, but to explain their reaction and why they did so is downright enjoyable and a great learning experience. or at least i liked it. Military tactics tends to be really "downgraded" to bootleg hollywood action squrences from what i've seen, i wonder what would happen if some people made some type of anime or movie based off of actual army veteran's not only experiences, but jobs and even tactics. Would that even be allowed from the government? Honestly really glad to run into this video. Anyone blasting the vets for saying their negatives really didnt pay attention to what they said. Plus they said it was still enjoyable. I actually kinda liked that the safety was actually looked at for when the cross-reloading thing had came. It was actually pretty funny, plus the guy actually accedently screwing up the full screen JUST BECAUSE OF IT was bloody hilarious. It also speaked volumes of his experience and how bad it would be if that actually happened in real life. Heck, i dont think that many fanmade or even actual action type movies ever look at tactics or methods of fighting, just blaintly showing it or having it be mostly, quote on quote "flat range theatrics." I do kinda wonder where i could learn how to get this knowledge of tactics but as a civilian half twit, i got nothin. Nine month year old video, but i appreciate that a group of veterans actually looked at this glorious MMD animation and not only liked it, but also judged it for what it is.
That, along with however many ambushers were in front also. Then they tried to reverse and go back while it was clear, but then the truck cut them off in the back. They could've maybe gone for the alley in their vehicles, but I imagine, like what one of the vehicle's number plates said, "shit happens". Mistakes were made in a high stress, fog of war situation.
I'm glad this guy is getting more attention. I will admit the weapons handling is not great in this one but it is likely due to the fact that most people don't train in CQB or real world tactics or have the opportunity to do so.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the reason they got out of the limo and nớt continued to drive is because of the truck that blocked their only way out🙏
Feels like weapons handling is the only thing people want ex-army / servicemen to react to. We get it. this person knows how to use a gun. can we get to the entertaining part now? If I were the vip I'd be like "miss? I'm paying you to protect me not give me a gun and say *go on without me, and good luck.* Now find some keys and get in the van, barbie!!!" Also 34:56 "I can't hear me bleeding! 🤣
To be fair- this is was pretty much a one-way entry. All of the security but HER was pretty much dead. He got what he paid for- and more; you can't put a price tag on lives or what kind of guarantee they have. Not to mention they're kinda too tired to actually be driving- if they tried, the enemy would drive them off the road with minimal to moderate difficulty. The VIP's got a bullet to his leg- he can't just drive. She can't either- she's too fatigued and shellshocked to even consider driving lest they die in a more brutal fashion.
33:04 Incidentally, you'd actually be surprised! uh that airframe won't cut it, but I don't really fault the animator because you're basically workin with what you got and It Looks Futuristic and High Tek but the US issue ECH can and will defeat 7,62x51mm FMJ pretty good. I mean shoot, out of a 22in barrel at like ten paces it's done the job. With advances in helmet liners and suspension, getting domed is theoretically no longer an issue. that said, this is hollywood armor. It Works until it Doesn't. The minute you throw in anything described as AP it does the job unless the director wants to show off how powerful the other guy is, and make it immune to AP too. Also nobody ever gets hit outside of plates. Ever.
Love your videos!. Btw you have to check out : Cat shit one. It’s pretty old video(10+ years old) but again a military action video that involves bunnies as US military and camels as insurgents 😂
I didn’t like this reaction video when I first watched it, and I still don’t, but I’ll try to thoroughly explain why others and I didn’t like it. It’s been a while since I first watched this video, so I might watch it again to see why exactly, as I’ve learned a quite bit more since then. Some general advice I go by is, if they’re wrong, then there’s nothing to be upset over, because you knowing the truth is what’s important, but if they’re correct, then there’s still nothing to be upset over, since that means that you can learn the truth. Either way, you learn the truth, and being upset over it whether someone is wrong or not is a trivial waste of time. I’ll apply this advice in my comment. I have no knowledge of military nor battle tactics, nor do I currently plan to gain it, so I’m going to be charitable and assume that all of this video’s criticisms were correct. But, if they’re correct, then why did many people as seen in the comments dislike this reaction video? The first reason is because the video spoke basically *nothing* about the animation quality itself, and *only* about the decisions the characters made and how realistic it is for the most part. I enjoyed V.I.P. because the animation was fantastic, the story was simple, the action is very enjoyable, and my suspicion of disbelief wasn’t ever broken. This is a fictional story, so I’m not going to complain about how realistic or authentic it appears. However, this video spoke nothing of the animation quality or any other positive aspect despite it being made by one person. That’s a bit of a shame, since it seemed like they only came here to talk about the negatives. The second and seemingly main reason, is that they watched the video just to critique its supposed authenticity. Apparently, they got comments from their other videos talking about how authentic it is, leading to people getting upset over this reaction video since this reaction just wanted to focused on how realistic it is. I don’t care about realism in media like this nearly as much, so that may add to why I dislike this reaction. It’s critiquing and talking a lot about something that I just don’t care about, but other’s do, so there’s a disconnect. The third reason is because the reaction and the amount of criticism made it seem like they _heavily_ disliked the film. They had barely anything positive to say except for the end, and that was my issue with their reaction. It didn’t seem like they enjoyed it at all, which is why I didn’t like this reaction. I enjoyed another reaction video by a different Marine reaction guy called Combat Arms Channel a lot more, even though he also had many criticisms about the tactics, many which mirrored the group’s criticisms. That’s because this single guy actually had some positives or at least interesting non-negative things to say and it actually seemed like he enjoyed it while watching it. While this group just didn’t appear to like it at all which makes the video less engaging to some. What’s the point of watching a movie with others if nobody’s enjoying it? Might as well do literally anything else. Why does it matter if they didn’t enjoy the video? Well, the nature of reaction videos is I’d say overwhelmingly positive, and the more critical videos are reserved for reviews or videos advertised as critique videos. This video might as well be on CinemaSins or some other review or movie critique channel. People may have some expectations of a more lighthearted reaction video, as usually when you watch something which you enjoy, V.I.P. for instance, the reason you want to see a reaction video about the same thing, is because you want to see other’s reactions and see how much they enjoy it. That’s primarily why I watch reaction videos, to have an excuse of watching something which I enjoyed again. Having the person you watch react negatively to it isn’t the greatest feeling in the world. To summarize, this video while probably correct in its analysis about it being unrealistic, doesn’t really matter in many media. There’s of course preferences and people may enjoy media for different reasons. Some may focus on the animation, and some may focus on the realism. In terms of weapon handling and gun play this short film seems realistic, in other places less so, although realism and authenticity isn’t the only metric when measuring the quality of a film, despite what some might think. That isn’t to say logic doesn’t matter, continuity and consistency definitely does matter always in stories no matter how unrealistic, and this film doesn’t break my suspension of disbelief. Although, military veterans may care more about specific details in tactics and such more, which isn’t a problem. I’d like to see another good indie animation about military-type or action scenarios, but animation, especially for one person, takes a _very_ long time, so I have great respect to those who take on the task in the first place, and why I care less about the authenticity about such subjects, but your general advice is still good, if not somewhat ignorant to the context and nature of projects like these created by a single person. I praise V.I.P. mainly for its animation quality and simple story. It’s just that these guys seemed to be rather crass yet seemingly correct when delivering the criticism, which was obvious from the first 20 seconds. I don’t hate this video; I just wanted to create a thorough comment to explain my thoughts. I could elaborate and refine this comment more, but I won’t since I’ve spent enough time already.
@ My opinions aren’t the law, but like the law they should at least be interpreted correctly. I never said I had an issue with differing opinions-I even said they’re most likely correct. I simply prefer optimism and recommend being happier, which is partly why I don’t like this reaction video. These veterans are free to be unhappy and create whatever videos they want, just as I’m free to share my opinions about it.
from what i seen the paths was block with a suv in the front and a truck at the back thats why they cant move however im surprise they didt went to the alleyway rightaway lol
I think the close bunching might have to do with probably seeing a SWAT stack and not realizing how a SWAT team and a retreating force are in very different situations that require different squad tatics. Overall, you can see how the creator understands the overall basics, but still misses on some of the details or more subtle nuances. I will say though, having the flashbang go off and the head merc still be alive was completely unrealistic, it'd be like pulling the trigger on a 10 gauge shotgun loaded with a blank with the barrel pressed against their forehead: their head is still gonna explode.
As far as I’m aware the animator has never done anything like this I think it’s awesome don’t crap on the little details please just enjoy the artists hard work :)
When they watching John wick. They are must be scream whole running time😅. In videos, sometimes details can be sacrificed for the dynamic of directing. Don’t forget that the producer may not the tactical trained.
@@Justinred87 Considering the guy seems to be japanese, technical consultation for anything other than weapon details is very thin on the ground for any artists other than major studios. In the US, there's millions of vets who are formally trained or have rotated through the sandbox so finding someone to fact check is as simple as buying enough beers for enough vets to find one who will give a serious professional opinion rather than bluster. In Japan, JGSDF retirees are much harder to find, and the majority of them are either "samurai wackos" who you should stay away from, don't feel super comfortable talking about their experiences, or old. So it's pretty clear he did his homework, but there's a difference between a formal instruction and a second hand textbook off ebay.
@@Justinred87 a few things, yeah? What do you reckon you'd have done for this? Genuine question. Try and drive through the ambush, risk more rockets, bail and duck into a building, wait for police to arrive... it's uh, supposed to be a city but MMD was not constructed to have more than like five guys doing things at absolute most (the program was made to have anime girls dance on a stage, not create a movie) so you probably SHOULD have civilians... I guess the opposing force is fielding AP rounds, and they *probably should* have grenades?
lmao I like the way people are still shitting on this channel because "vets react" shits are actually reacting and criticizing based on their military expertise, which is the whole fucking point of vets react contents. I also like the mmd vip video a real lot, and also any other animations or short films depicting some cool tactical shits. But people expecting vets to give a compliment on them mindlessly, then whine and complain like a baby when things won't work out as the way they wanted, is just preposterous. Don't discourage vets react vids just because you enjoyed it and vets didn't. I think people are often confused if the reaction from vets are valueble, or vets themselves are valueble. They're not special for just being vets, they're special when they have expertise that common people don't have. Reaction videos stands for mainly two reasons: to hop in crowd psychology or to experience different perspectives. Veterans wouldn't probably share exact same thoughts with other people when it comes to their experiences to be related. And I'm pretty sure that I kinda heard "I really liked the animation but" for like fifty times in this video. Grow up, people.
Thank you sir for your reaction, its be interesting to see how the expert was reacting, some moments of this film really shocked me, like when the guy fire in front of girl runs, or when lady give pistol to package and leave him alone, but i cant understand some moments, f.e. about why there dont go away with cars in the first moments, i think there stuck, or that guy really can be killed if lady fired on car?
Is this reaction hate the outhor? But I'm really enjoy the tactics and animation, even not 100% perfect acurate tactical. But I think it's hard to creat the animation and storyline plus camera edit. I RESPECT THE OUTHOR so much, he spend so much time creating this animation. But the most important it's so satisfying to watch the ASMR of gun the soothing efect and whistle of bullet, the strategy animation so great. Some times after watching this reaction I'm feel sad to outhor, I think he got offend or some thing, just saying my thoughs. No one's perfect

Yeah as an avid Tacticool dork this vid was a bit goofy ahh. But I expected it because Anime girls with guns are all the rage these and usually consist of stuff like this.
@@gr1m375 That's fair! I'm as civilian as it gets so I'm likely much easier to please. I would've liked it with or without the tacticool stuff, but it has enough of a veneer of realism to make guys like me go "Wow! It's like John Wick but in a squad!" Also I liked how the enemies were actually threatening. I felt like the characters could die at any moment, which isn't something a lot of action scenes can accomplish. Most of the time you aren't worried because you know they're walking out of this alive and kill all the Mooks. Was different here, I liked that
i think its completely aight. its just dramatised to help the silent storytelling, it has a more asian flavour. anime-ish. like overdramatised. the gun handling is crisp, and clearly none of the vehicles are armoured, and for your nitpicks, bruh these dudes are pumping adrenaline come on mate. and she was feathering the trigger once not flagging anyone and you guys went haywire. also you said that because the vip had priority, they shoulda gunned it, which was exactly what they did. but not using the nades like some anime character charging their ultimate ability, yeah i get that. they probably tried to wait to hold out for some response team which (never came) in the first firefight, so they ran out, took them a bit to get their bearings, but i mean it was probably also done to show a bit more action, it is an action film after all. the small safety violations, i dont give a fuck, its basically a warzone. yeah so about the vip, that was their whole plan, they tried to gun him out as fast as possible and give them as much time as possible because he is literally being carried. but they had a complication on the way and the plan failed. god thats literally the whole plot. why is it so hard to grasp? the whole thing with fighting and holding in place had a reason. they didnt just back tf out because that was the damn point. and the rest mate, its a fucking anime fight bro. like it had a story and it was reasonable, but the 'no voice actors' thing was probably too hard for you i am sorry. you probably need some narrator lady like some cocomelon shit or something to tell you whats happening.
The Japanese person who made this vip video is ill advised, hopefully someone who actually knows can help the creator out so if there is a next one it would actually be worth watching. Thanks for the reaction!
The author of the video, Zen, had stated on his twitter that he won't be doing another action-heavy video again anytime soon and would rather go back to light-hearted comedy stuff. Which is a shame though, because I do see potential here in terms of animation, camera work and storytelling.

Zen should learn to get back into their lane and keep making their comedy animations. They obviously did not have anywhere near the technical knowledge to attempt make a "realistic" tactical animation like this. If anything at least hire some ex-military consultants.
Point is for it to be fun not fucking Arma. It's still pretty good. Also it's not a guarantee vids like this blow up. I was here like hours after it launched and vid came out. Hindsight and all that. Enjoy the animation ffs
No because I think outhor can't creat her voice line in each character it take a little bit time again and resource. He focus much in story line and effects .
Realism aside, it was very entertaining. The first part gave me Tarantino vibes, and the whole street fight felt like Heat.
Absolutely

It's well made but like
These guys are sporting GRENADES, FLASHES, freakin AUTOMATICS
it's what, couple hundred to load up with some helmets, trauma kits, actual plates instead of these weird thingies?
I... think they're wearing rhodesian recon vests.
@@apocryphaemiya9331
Realistically?
Try to remember some of the basics of CQC.

But after watching this video, it's almost like the author opened up a box that said "squad tactics" and just picked up and slapped on whatever looked cool without really thinking things through.
the action is still quite beautiful though. does not fail to make me giddy still.
One of the reason it's blown up is probably due to that it'll be the best we can get for a MMD action film, if we exclud all the SFM sh*t
And we probably won't have the same level of work for years, considering that it took more than 3 years to complete
@@wolfensniper4012 100% agree with you on that one. I think this author did for MMD gunplay what Asatoshi did for MMD martial arts with his "Burning Meiling" series. "Why didnt they just get in the car and leave?"
I think its important to remember some things when talking about animation software like this.
Edit:
Though it's probably the damage.

for the initial ambush, its hard to see since it happens fast but, i believe they cant peel away because they get locked in, lead vehicle is hit presumably with an RPG or maybe it found a mine, and the rear vehicle gets hit by the Semi which traps their rear escape. so they are effectively trapped.
ive noticed many channels not noticing that detail so i figure i should spread the word.
though i do suppose they probably could have either rammed the lead vehicle out of the way or tried to drive down one of the alleys, idk. definitely more focus on the weapons handling and lots of holes in regards to flanking enemies, enemies in buildings etc. but an enjoyable watch.

would be amazing if Zen somehow saw the veteran reaction video and then create another animation taking to heart the comments of military reactions.

Finally. Someone made a reaction video
I could elaborate and refine this comment more, but I won’t since I’ve spent enough time already.
because all veterans have to be happy and not have different opinions

@@Scriptedviolince Solid comment.
@@Justinred87
a few things, yeah?
What do you reckon you'd have done for this? Genuine question.
Try and drive through the ambush, risk more rockets, bail and duck into a building, wait for police to arrive...
it's uh, supposed to be a city but MMD was not constructed to have more than like five guys doing things at absolute most (the program was made to have anime girls dance on a stage, not create a movie) so you probably SHOULD have civilians...
I guess the opposing force is fielding AP rounds, and they *probably should* have grenades?
9:30 WHAT PROCEEDS HERE IS TOO HILARIOUS XD
lmao I like the way people are still shitting on this channel because "vets react" shits are actually reacting and criticizing based on their military expertise, which is the whole fucking point of vets react contents.
Bro the police is cool 😂😂😂 2:18
they don't muted! It's just that the author can't voice it haha.
25:12 did he say “clip it”?
Lmfao I think he said "Get back bxtch"
@@ironduke5058 spot on
Is this reaction hate the outhor? But I'm really enjoy the tactics and animation, even not 100% perfect acurate tactical. But I think it's hard to creat the animation and storyline plus camera edit. I RESPECT THE OUTHOR so much, he spend so much time creating this animation.
But the most important it's so satisfying to watch the ASMR of gun the soothing efect and whistle of bullet, the strategy animation so great.
Some times after watching this reaction I'm feel sad to outhor, I think he got offend or some thing, just saying my thoughs. No one's perfect
Then you obviously didn’t watch the whole thing or you would know that we gave the creator props for what he did.
I just discovered this video. What things would you guys recommend watching that have good authenticity and showcase good tactics?
The internet is a great place. If its possible. U can even get consultants.
Looking for entertainment in "V.I.P." and realism in this video. I enjoyed it twice:)
been looking for the video since I made mention of it, 4 the life of me I can't find the original anywhere... we need a tac analysis on that 1 too...

Not stay in the killzone. Maybe that’s why some of us are still here. Food for thought.

His jaws would be gone and he would be very close to dying,at best. At worst, dies instantly

I mean, it's not even remotely realistic, but I thought it was fun...

This is the worst reaction i have ever seen, I dont care what any of you "Vets" Say this is truly the best animation.
👍
@@Justinred87 oh dear you replied
@@Vexian2289 Why is "Vets" in quotes? We're all veterans, so it would just be a literal statement. The animation itself is entertaining...the point was a breakdown of the "tactics." (See what I did there? That's proper use of quotation marks, in this case)
@@topper3595 What both you and them call "tactics" is hilarious. Also I commented nearly a month ago why are you replying?
@@Vexian2289 that was the entire point... The "tactics" were hilarious, thus we critiqued the video, as requested by a large community. This concept is either foreign to you, or you're being purposefully dense.
As for why I responded, I work...a lot. Just now got around to catching up to some things, and this comment made me giggle. Plus, I do what the fuck I want 😂
18:49 this is why you keep a round in the chamber
I noticed a lot of this stuff myself but I mean, it's not bad but it could be better
Yeah the tactics were bad... But, imagine if the movie was they pushing past the X and the VIP getting safely to wherever they were going, pretty short and boring movie imo
Imagine if the movie had plausible reasons for choosing the courses of action they did. Not short, not boring, and makes sense.
This video is the culmination of gen Z Instagram , UA-cam range theatrics gun bunny drama
GRIMS score:
Drama: 25/10
Tactically sound: 1/10
Does that make it bad?
@@dragonfell5078 it’s not my cup of tea. It was entertaining but when it use to be your job the dramatic stuff just make me roll my eyes. Just my opinion don’t take it to heart.
It's like John Wick but in a squad!"
Also I liked how the enemies were actually threatening. I felt like the characters could die at any moment, which isn't something a lot of action scenes can accomplish. Most of the time you aren't worried because you know they're walking out of this alive and kill all the Mooks. Was different here, I liked that
i still felt like the main character had plot armor
i think its completely aight. its just dramatised to help the silent storytelling, it has a more asian flavour. anime-ish. like overdramatised. the gun handling is crisp, and clearly none of the vehicles are armoured, and for your nitpicks, bruh these dudes are pumping adrenaline come on mate. and she was feathering the trigger once not flagging anyone and you guys went haywire.
also you said that because the vip had priority, they shoulda gunned it, which was exactly what they did. but not using the nades like some anime character charging their ultimate ability, yeah i get that. they probably tried to wait to hold out for some response team which (never came) in the first firefight, so they ran out, took them a bit to get their bearings, but i mean it was probably also done to show a bit more action, it is an action film after all.
the small safety violations, i dont give a fuck, its basically a warzone.
yeah so about the vip, that was their whole plan, they tried to gun him out as fast as possible and give them as much time as possible because he is literally being carried. but they had a complication on the way and the plan failed. god thats literally the whole plot. why is it so hard to grasp? the whole thing with fighting and holding in place had a reason. they didnt just back tf out because that was the damn point.
and the rest mate, its a fucking anime fight bro. like it had a story and it was reasonable, but the 'no voice actors' thing was probably too hard for you i am sorry. you probably need some narrator lady like some cocomelon shit or something to tell you whats happening.
