Thanks so much for this video. I was looking for a planet tutorial, but many others were just for 1 colour planets, and this one actually shows how to make continents and clouds. Thanks :D
Excellent tutorial. Great techniques and tips to really make a custom planet - with options to return and edit any part of the process. Love the stars idea! Again, that little extra customisation option has inspired a few ideas to develop something unique 👍
Thanks, simple to the point, although u miss a few minor things that a beginner would miss, when explanning how 2 get certain results, other than that great video, I find ur way the easiest so far on how 2 create planets. Peace 1Love Guidance Wisdom & Protection 2 U.
This is an excellent tutorial. I'm in the process of writing a fan fic, and wanted to create a planet that's unique to the story. This will allow me to do just that. I just have two questions - for the continents, can I use the lasso tool or freeform pen tool to "select" or create the shape of the continents and islands as well, and still use this technqie as is? Also, the star system of the planet is binary - meaning 2 stars. Is there a way to simulate that here by simply increasing the amount of light on the planet? Or is it even necessary to show the stars at all? Thanks for the help!
Great tutorial Jesus. Thank you. I had a lot of fun with it. The only issue I had was rendering the stars. I created the new layer above the background but when I went to filter/render/noise, the stars covered the whole layer, including the planet. The only way I could find around it was to use layer masks.
+Chuck Apostolas It sounds like the render happened above all the other layers. In any case, no matter what layer it happened on, once you isolate it, and select the bright pixels in the channels panel you should be OK.
Now that is really neat. I wonder how long it will take me to learn the ""whens & Wheres" of all these neat techniques? Guess all one can do is trial and error when you're in the learning process.
hey can i ask a question? my cs6 suddenly turned to normal one not extended it was extended for over a year but couple of days ago the 3d menu disappeared and the splash changed
Hi, i am trying to follow you on this tutorial but I'm facing a small problem till now. Why when i do blend mode Linear Dodge Add, i can see the color box to choose? Thanks in advance. Mario
+Mario Mifsud You're welcome! I'm glad you figured it out! You're never too old to learn. And you never stop! I still learn new photoshop stuff all the time.
+Jeff Juszczyk You can't fade if you made any other adjustments or changes. You have to make the adjustment, then go to Fade before doing anything else. Also, if you made your adjustments on a smart object, you can't use the Fade command.
I had the same problem. I'm using PS 2020. In Photoshop, I went to windows then selected "Patterns," then click the flyout menu. scroll down to "legacy patterns and more" click on that and you should see all the older patterns including Texture Fill 2 and stucco 4 which is the pattern needed for this tutorial.
You are genius. I didn't know the coordinates trick in lens flare, also your method of creating the land is marvellous.

Great ...
+Sanjeewa Thenage Thank you!
I guess you probably must warp a bit the earth layer just to gain the deformation near the poles...
+smsl26 yup

+Thom Keach Yup, that's how I learned. A whole lot of trial and error. I still do a lot of it actually.
+Photoshop Training Channel But you make it look so easy! Lol
+Thom Keach Only after a whole bunch of trial and error! :)
Cool stuff. Do you have something for creating craters on planets?
unfortunately, I do not
Does this tutorial require any external brushes aside from the defaults, and if so is there a Gumroad link or something I could find them at?
hey dude, can you make an episode just about how to make own lens flare!?
+Sajad Sayahi Maybe. I don't promise anything though.
Is there anyway you can update this for the 2021.Or is everything basically the same
hey can i ask a question?
my cs6 suddenly turned to normal one not extended

+Mario Mifsud Hi OK problem solved. Thanks for your full support by teaching those who want to learn at 60.
+Mario Mifsud You're welcome! I'm glad you figured it out! You're never too old to learn. And you never stop! I still learn new photoshop stuff all the time.

Its not letting me fade. I have been following with the tutorial.

It's THIS EASY but people are still NIEVE enough to believe any image or video the news media or NASA shows us of the earth, moon, etc. ;)
koal
+HejManden Thanks!

The problem that I can not quite good English if it would fare better written, much more....
+Árpád Héjja I would love to write them, but it would take a lot more time!
Edit>Fade no longer available 2019 update.
Fade is it's still there in CC 2019
I dont have a twirl tool?
Nevermind. Found it.
Those textures don't show up in pattern overlay there are only 3 trees, grass and water
