It took me awhile and many many rewinds but i finally did it. Thank you! And Btw it took me like 30 min to get the marching ants to stop, so it was life saver when you fianlly said Control D, makes it stop.

You can also add a bit of noise to add texture to the ring and show that its made from particles

check this out , you can take that texture and then go to the 3D menu and convert it to a sphere ! Really great because you can make your own textures !!

but I think the best way is to make several circles instead of using twist. A planet has the rings in orbit and not centrifuged them ..

how can you do the inner glow on elements 9? it is confusing
Great, except the fact that the ring looks whole, when it should be having a shadow cast on it by the planet. Look at pics of Saturn from behind and you'll know what I mean. The part behind the planet should be nearly invisible.

When I make the layer an overlay,the center is just black and i can still see the inner shadow,what am i doing wrong?

I was able to make a sweet planet with rings, but now my elliptical tool will NOT allow me to choose between shapes and paths. I've watched this video so many times to figure out how to reverse this, but I can't figure out how to do it. Wtf am I missing?
