Yeah that was crazy. I’m glad the interviewer called her on not being able to admit it too. Wonder how many times she’s done that in her career.. kinda scary to think about
Fr. I thought the case would result into a hung jury because of Benton's peacocking. She's lucky the rest of the team is competent and had collected overwhelming evidence against the ex and that despite her wrong assumptions, the actual evidence backs up the suspect's guilt. But what if it doesn't? She's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Regardless if a tox screen is done or not done you never, never, ever dispose of evidence DURING an active investigation. Evidence can only be disposed of when ALL appeals have been exhausted. Anyone who says otherwise has never collected evidence or investigated a homicide.
Why would she ask the owner of the house to leave his home that night, because she wanted to be alone. Very convenient. I think she was a very good manipulator of more than one man.
The deputy who gave her a gun should be charged as an accessory. This loser was the easiest one to manipulate and he just wanted in her pants. His testimony only collaborated how weird and unfit he was to serve in any law enforcement capacity.
It's incredible how a beautiful woman might have power over a man: one gives her a gun, and the other one, friendzoned by her and dismissed from his own home, keeps believing blindly on her inocence.
She should've never consented to taking that gun or talking to him. Omg. Another guy in a blue suit, not in his right mind. And he didn't care about getting fired, but gave her life away as he handed her the gun persuading her to use it cause he thinks she is beautiful wow women need to watch out and be smarter! Literally he handed her life to the prison itself without possibly of parole in this corrupt delusional government jurisdictional country and world, and she inexperienced, gave her life away at the moment she consented and took the gun, she had accepted then and there what her plan was. She needed to have just returned next business day to court and proceed with restraining order, but all because of this idiots officials fault, she the one inexperienced had fell for the worst. The worst part is she did it herself, be it self defense or not. And when there is another person involved that gets no part in the penalties... Wow. Lesson learned is in the book of Proverbs 13:20 "The one walking with the wise will become wise, but the one who has dealings with the stupid will fare badly."
Why shouldn’t you, they’re objective and cover all sides, showing you what *could* happen. This is a great channel and I would wish more people’d watch these videos.
The police may have made a few mistakes but she is guilty as hell. She had the motive and the means and she had gained herself a key ally in that police officer that took interest in her.
I think his judgement was badly affected by her and her apparent predicament, perhaps because she appeared so accepting of him and perhaps because of how he relates to different types of men.
I believe her story, and I believe she initially shot him in self-defense. However, she kept shooting out of distress and over killed him. So, obviously, she murdered him. William was a disgusting druggie and abuser who lived a fast life. While also feeling entitled to abuse women or at least that one and that lifestyle lead to his demise.
Victoria didn't apologize to his family, which shows who she really is. She's probably blaming him that she's in jail 'cause she won't take ownership of what she did!! I think the detective is a dangerous narcissist. 😳
*_I think some of the most damming evidence that was shown was the short video of Victoria at the door, and Will telling her to leave, that he is scared of her!_*
But he was the one filming it and it could have been a total setup. Of course he would play victim if he was the one filming. His shrink also said will was having delusions. I wouldn’t of convicted her you wouldn’t convince me.
My ex-wife fell on a horse in a jumping competition and was badly bruised. Unknown to me her girlfriend took pictures of the bruises. Months later, my ex-wife used those photographs to accuse me of abuse. There’s a saying that goes - you always know the person that you marry, but you never know the person that you divorce.
That’s why I’m always blown away by people ignoring their new partners behavior towards the ex. Don’t fall for the I’m doing this because if this or that or he/she is jealous. I asked a friend why her b/f got divorced when they started having problems. She said,”I just know that she this and she that!” Ok, so he was perfect?
@@IwasBlueb4 she also accused me of abusing the children. Friend of the court did an extensive investigation, and in the end I received custody of the children.
A woman who’s truly abused to where she was in fear of her life doesn’t confront their abuser trying to get into their house while the “abuser” is saying he’s scared of her and she is a toxic liar. That alone is almost enough, but with all the other evidence? She murdered this man.
You are wrong. In a toxic abusive relationship this happens all the time. Both people are almost addicted to one another. The abuse whether verbal, physical, sexually usually goes back and forth when the relationship is codependent
Didn't she state that she was thinking that he was going to try to get her put away or something by saying she assaulted him and if I remember correctly then possibly that would affect her custody of her son. Didn't she want to talk him out of this. Any mother would take this chance of talking to the abuser to protect her child. I think she was abused by this man possibly psychologically and definitely physically and believes that he would do this even if it wasn't true. I think that having been in a relationship where they protect their image and destroy you is their goal is what I think I have heard a narcissist does. I think I may be true that it is common for the wife to look like the crazy one while the abuser gets off scott free for being guilty of his crime although she lived to tell the story with people not believeing her unless she lied. If what she says is true which I think there is reasonable doubt that she could be innocent, well at least she did not get killed but I wish that maybe she would have testified to say why she believed she was in danger for her life but he has beat her many times so may be this time she could see it in his eyes that he was not right in his head and could have killed her who know.
It's not proof of anything, I have asked many a time to be home alone with my ex housemate , he would go to his holiday house and I would ignore calls and doors. It's this kind of assumption that makes bad police work.
Regardless of any thing else, the ego of a detective like this lady is what we have to change in this country, being able to admit a mistake and learn from it is a STRENGTH not a Weakness
Even though I do believe she is guilty. I still think that it’s sickening and disgusting that even though the detective was completely WRONG about how many bullets were able to be in that gun she still wouldn’t admit what she said was wrong. Unfortunately, I see this happen with a lot of law enforcement that has led to the wrong people convicted and they still stick to what they said even if it changed someone’s life.
I’m perplexed why wouldn’t the detective say she got it wrong about the gun. I’m even more perplexed, because in Britain this crime would not have happened. What is it about so called average Americans having access to guns. Crazy.
If we go by the secret recording she did of her interaction with him, we can tell. He was genuine in his reaction to her. He said, "I am afraid of you!" That girl did what she did.
It was beautiful that a rainbow appeared after the sentencing. I hope the daughter can move on and enjoy her life to the fullest like her dad would have wished
A Deputy GAVE her a gun? This makes me wonder if she was one of those women who just can smile to a man and he's under her spell. Why on earth would a DEPUTY put his whole career on the line for a woman he'd never met before? This just doesn't add up.
This is Georgia, where guns serve as gifts to friends and loved ones. Here up north, when we’re looking for a present to give somebody on a birthday or anniversary or to celebrate an important holiday, we usually think of flowers or candy or something from an Amazon Wish List. But in Georgia and other southern states, people tend to give guns as a way of saying, “I care.” Of course on very special occasions, high-school graduation, for example, or release from prison, loved ones usually give a machine gun. They say it’s “the gift that keeps on giving.”😂

In my opinion, Victoria never forgave him for wanting to end their relationship. It's possible she was more obsessive than him. He simply didn't want to be with her and chose to end any connection with her, this is not the case of an abusive controlling man.

Yes, and also the GPS system in newer cars. Technology we are so accustomed to using and relying on that it's easily forgotten that these modern conveniences are high tech tracking devices of virtually every move we make.
Yep. Modern police procedures. “Big brother is at home with you. He is installed in the item you just dragged home from the Apple Store.” I was watching a true crime story of a cold case and the detective said it was a case that took place before modern policing. No CCTV, no cellphone history, no GPS. That said people have been freed based on their GPS and cellphone data. Also some criminals who deliberately leave their phone at home or switch it off when committing a crime - that is also seen as suspicious. Why have your phone off specifically at that time?
I first saw this case on “Crime Watch Daily.” I felt it in my soul that she was guilty when I heard his “You are a toxic web of lies” and her “baby” voice she used was DISGUSTING. I’m so happy she’s in there for life.
They didn’t include that detective interviewed an exboyfriend of killerTory that said she accused him of rape and threatened to beat herself up and press charges that he battered her. He was scared of her. Tory also had a file several inches thick of ex-correspondence with old boyfriends alleging rape and abuse. She had a copy of the “bible” of domestic violence and highlighted passages of the qualities of the VICTIM-not the predator. So glad she is caged for life. Will overcome addiction and had so much love to give his daughter. Tragic.
I have my suspicions on her abuse. I cant prove it of course. But all her injuries are very mild and in places they can be self inflicted. You dont normally see that with abuse victims and i noticed that immediately. Its odd. His injury however, on the back of the head, bleeding, alledgedly her hitting him with a hammer, thats not something you see as self inflicted. Its not all that hard to make some bruises on your arm. Black eye is a lot harder, but the pictures shown are not fresh and through black eye. Its the remnants of it and can easily be faked with make up. I dont think what you state here was in the video. But it corroborates the suspicion i had wrt her injuries. The fact she actually threatened to do that, what the ex said, already proves to me that she did it. And that shes evil. Im not allowed to say more on the topic
She’s the type to bruise herself and say he did it. She was angry he finally broke it off with her and she wanted to punish him. She previously busted him in the head with a claw hammer. This was an abusive relationship but she was the abuser he was a victim.
I’ve heard this case at least 5x and I never ever saw Detective Benton in a negative light until the 5th time hearing this case. She just couldn’t admit she was wrong… I can’t stand someone who won’t admit when they are blatantly incorrect. It sounds like they both convicted Victoria in their minds before they ever even saw the evidence!!!! Thank you 48 Hours for fair and balanced reporting.
Her friend the homeowner lets her stay at his place. She feels like being alone so he had to sleep at his mom's. That shows her true nature right there. If she was so worried about her son custody she wouldn't repeatedly engage in a toxic relationship. They are both toxic
SO SAD. ALL I HAD TO HEAR WAS 2 THINGS to KNOW SHE WAS GUILTY: ** 1- he broke up with her the day she killed him! She told her friend " she had to change his mind"...🙄 and, probably talked him into coming by. She was the abuser in the relationship and the day you choose to leave an abuser you are in BIG DANGER. I don't doubt he restrained her & bruised her arms , but she like hits him in the head with a hammer! We don't KNOW who was more physically aggressive OR who started the physical altercations. ** 2- you don't shoot someone 9, 10 or 12 TIMES in self- defense!! Usually 1 to 3 shots completely disables them if not kills them. The jury got it right.
Exactly! What if he held her arm back from hitting him while they were in bed? Then he tried to get up, she grabbed the gun, and shot him in the back as he was trying to get up and leave. She deserves an appeal because the case was mishandled but, I hope they sentence her to stay right where she is the second time around too.
If I remember correctly she had to change his mind about having her charged with assault because she did not want to lose custody of her child this is what I think I heard. I think this is why the jury should have taken a lot more time in deliberating to get things correct. Also may be she was taught to shoot may times.
She was probably disappointed when he said to call the police, hoping he might have offered up some hush-hush way to make it all disappear since it was his gun.
Have responsibility and walk away from a toxic situation before you make a decision you are gonna regret… that’s the lesson here. This could have been avoided
23:54 detectives conclusion: pistol holds 12 rounds, there were 9 shot, but there were 4 still in the magazine, this equals 13 which is more than the pistol holds. Therefore, the defendant HAD to reload. This is FALSE. Most conceal carry holders will carry 1 round in the chamber to allow for additional round capacity. for example, pistol mag hold 12 rounds, mag gets inserted, pull the slide back to load one round in the chamber, release the mag and insert 1 round in the mag, insert back in the pistol. Now you have 13 rounds available instead of 12. Hence, defendant shoots 9 rounds, yet there are 4 left. reloading was not necessary .
That video she took of her going over to Will's house, trying to get in & him telling her repeatedly to go away... that wrapped it up for me. Unless you have a child with them & absolutely have to, there's no way you're going to casually go over to your supposed abusers house. What was her end goal in filming that anyway? I think the jury definitely got it right.
Have you ever seen someone hit someone and then start recording them when they are mad? Or call them a bunch of names but recording acting like a victim? It’s hard for me to believe any video unless it’s start to end
I hope her friends see these comments and start to realize that she is guilty, just too many facts go against her, no defensive scratches, no mess on the bed. Little mess was made by her when she went to reach and get the gun, real fast to not give him time to defend himself. She knew what she was doing
If you’re afraid of someone, you don’t go confront them and video them and later you DON’T LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE to begin with! She trapped him and then killed him. The jury got this right.

I believe not getting the toxicology report and being biased was the worst thing that could happen. You want to rule out their innocence you have to investigate it like you need to prove their innocence. To show how the the evidence doesn’t show innocence, not just she’s guilty, no need to do anything but show misconstrued evidence, ignoring anything corroborating her statement, and bash her character while claiming she’s guilty.
What it is the clip holds 12 rounds but with one already in the chamber that's 13. The fact a detective couldn't figure that out is insane
Yeah that was crazy. I’m glad the interviewer called her on not being able to admit it too. Wonder how many times she’s done that in her career.. kinda scary to think about

Most cops and DA's can't that's why there are still loads of not guilty people in prison.

Its odd.
His injury however, on the back of the head, bleeding, alledgedly her hitting him with a hammer, thats not something you see as self inflicted.

Asking her friend to leave the home shows premeditation to me
SO SAD.
ALL I HAD TO HEAR WAS 2 THINGS to KNOW SHE WAS GUILTY:
** 1- he broke up with her the day she killed him!
Nailed it! 🎯🎯
The picture of the bruises on her arm were on her phone before she killed him.
The Detective, The officer who handed over the gun, the defendant, and her lawyer....

The fact that she didn’t call the police first screams she’s guilty
She was probably disappointed when he said to call the police, hoping he might have offered up some hush-hush way to make it all disappear since it was his gun.
Have responsibility and walk away from a toxic situation before you make a decision you are gonna regret… that’s the lesson here. This could have been avoided
In that case, everything can be avoided. Lol
100%
so so true. Unfortunately, he did make the decision to go over to her house and see her and that decision ended his life.
@Annie497 Agree! Hope her son ends up in a stable home!
If the shots are in the victims back, it’s not self defense. End of story.
Wow! Go for Governor.
That was my first thought
That detective is DANGEROUS
And she's not the only pos cop
Shitcago has jokes.
And the cold blooded murderer isn't??
If you’re afraid of someone, you don’t go confront them and video them and later you DON’T LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE to begin with! She trapped him and then killed him. The jury got this right.
not true. ever heard of co-dependency
If he was so afraid of her why did HE go to her on that fateful night?! The idiot had a death wish.
This detective is DANGEROUS.
Urgh that detective is DREADFUL. She thought she was Olivia Benson 🙄
😂😂😂😂😂 i thought the same. Idk if she's guilty or not tbh.
Here Here!! 👏 👏
Olivia Benson would have done a better job and not immediately dismissed the rape accusation. She would also know how many bullets go in that gun
I was thinking the same thing.
And she’s already accomplished more in her life than you ever will 😮
