This story is frightening because it not only shows how capable and unpredictable people are and can be but also how you really don't know people's dark side you only see the side they want you to see and by the time you find out about the dark side many times it's too late, it seems many men today have 0 regard for women and think nothing of harming or killing them, these are very frightening times in which we live.

    • @StofStuiver
      @StofStuiver 3 місяці тому +29

I was wondering on that too.
The relationship ended badly obviously and she got out and away as far as she could. It probably left him broken and taking years to get somewhat back on his feet. And because of all that, i think he loved her still, but also resented her, for what she did. And turned into an obsession. Love often is an obsession. It seems seeing her again triggered the difference in how they proceeded from that breakup, with her being succesfull and him not so (it seems).
Even the pictures say a lot, bc the ones from back then, he looks good, but the ones later, show he went downhill. (if those pictures are indeed from those different times).
It may be that she was not such a saint as they try to portray in the video.
How about the guy she was with, the comedian (another one) that she would marry, got on tv, then decided she was too much in the picture.
You cant decide that before you go on tv? You can also marry someone that is regularly on tv, and remain in the shadows.
Also, wrt that, this guy is in his 50ies and not a looker. While she is attractive, so could it be she used this guy to actually get in the spotlight and then afterwards came with the reason "too much publicity so breakup' ?
It makes no sense otherwise. Bc if you love someone, are engaged, but you dont want to be in the spotlight, then dont be in the spotlight. Its no reason to breakup.
It may very well be she used people to advance her carreer. And that behavior, combined with 'love' leaves victims. Not everyone takes that well.

People need to stop blaming the roommate. Watch the trail. The roommate has an injury and was fearful for his life. He spoke during the trial that the violence that he heard made him think that he would not survive it and they’d both be dead without anyone knowing. The misogyny and femicide in this case is horrific. Nothing was going to stop this obsessed (I’m not typing his name) psychopath. I’m so thankful that the roommate didn’t investigate the sound he heard. He’d probably be dead. Watch the trial. It’s heartbreaking. Amy did everything - everything - right. The fault is on the perpetrator.

Agree totally. You can't blame someone for assessing their ability to help. He didn't fail her, he ran and did all he could to raise the alarm. He stayed there until the police came. For all we know, it took all his strength not to run far away. Going blindly into battle and giving yourself up for another person is a story we all like to hear, but it's not realistic. Keeping your wits about you and doing the sensible thing is just as right.

We all like to think we'd immediately have grabbed a bat or a knife and charged in there,, but the reality is different. Some would, knowing their female friend & roommate was being attacked w/o thinking twice abt it, but theyre definitely in the minority. The roommate has no reason to feel any guilt over his actions whatsoever. He had no idea what would happen and immediately sought help. Nothing bad that hap'd that night was his fault.

I'm sure 90% of the time they encounter heroin in needles, not liquid tobacco or orange juice. They still tested it to be certain, they didn't just guess and kick it to a storage locker.

This isn’t a movie, this is real life! No script, no heros with superpowers, no story arc to follow.
He didn’t know what was going on, or how many were up there with Amie.
He did the right thing in running for help. Suspect he would have lost his life if he’d intervened.
    God bless that man.
Edited to add: Women shouldn’t NEED an effing war vet to live with them to be safe. Thats the whole point… anyone saying they’d “do better” has come here to make it about themselves… nobody f’n cares about you. A woman was killed. Show some respect and diffidence to her friends and survivors. It’s not a d*ck swinging contest.

I usually hold back crying, but as someone who has been through this before, it hit home. I was stalked for years and thanks to that I still have trouble sleeping every night. I was only 17 and making reports with police officers and only my mom knew, I was so ashamed for bringing this person into my life and now not knowing how to get rid of them. They would make fake profiles, and even fake emails pretending i would write to them, 3 different future girlfriends of my stalker would message me on Facebook calling me names that I was talking to their bf and it wasn’t even me but he would purposely pretend it was. The last straw was when he threatened to come into my home and take me with him and telling me he did not care who he had to take out if they tried to stop him. I ended up staying at a friends and hotels to avoid my family getting hurt. From there on I stopped having social media and never putting my full name on anything. It makes me so sad Amy probably felt this or worse with the fame and recognition she was getting. It breaks my heart her life was cut short because so many of us could have been in the same position and it’s not ok. Rip Amie❤

Funny how people say why didn't he run to help her. How can you when you don't even know how many people are there and how armed they are. You can just get attacked by surprise and now you don't even have a chance to call the police. Good deal. It's easy to say ,,Oh, come on, go there and save her!" when in reality you freak out.
