And yeah... update on the comedy... in an recent interview the director did tell that the story will go dark by the end of the story... so all the comedy is for the first half of the team. If you wanna check out the interview ... it was taken yesterday by IGN
I figured because Orion is technically Optimus’ “teen years” so it makes sense as he grows and see war he matures

I see allot of adults like us saying they don’t like it. I’m like come on chill, it’s suppose to be more for kids. Yet I get that as well and not hating on them. I’m excited to see it and it truly looks like a great fun film to see in theaters.
G1 is not super serious 😂 it can be but it wasn’t most of the time
and let’s remember this is the origin story it’s a time before the war. It’s the young versions of the characters that we know and love before they got dark stoic and battle war so there’s an innocence that’s there and their innocence hasn’t been taken yet. This is supposed to actually be a trilogy so each entry will probably be more, leaning towards the dark, and even if it doesn’t, it makes sense to do this

As someone who has seen and read almost every American and Japanese Transformer show and comic from the 80's till now I gotta say I don't mind. I enjoyed most Transformers stuff from the past decades, the only stuff I really hated were the Michael Bay movies. This looks like it could be fun. It's got a lot of references and lore from the series over the past 40 years in the trailer alone, if the movie sticks to that kind of fan service I think it'll be pretty cool.
One of the things the Bay movies lacked for me was the lore, and their implementation of it when they did use it was garbage.
The original cartoon(80s) had a lot of comedy.

@Dwightlommers yougin I'm 46 and I've every interaction of Transformers from 80s-until now. So you can't tell me anything about this franchise, plus I thank for proving my point about the 80s cartoon and its comedy by adding the Dinobots....Good job

This is certainly not what I wanted, but I will give this movie a chance (I'm really tired of the cheap Marvel-eque humor they cram into everything nowdays).
The origins of the Cybertronian civil war is very dark, just as some of the legacy character's. Wish they went with the aligned continuity backstories instead of what they did here. I don't think Megatron will make sense if they leave out his gladiator origins.

I grew up watching the original transformers G1 I saw the movie in theaters twice I see a lot of Michael Bay transformers movies transformers have little bits of humor in it but this is marvel style humor it just doesn't work for me
