This movie should’ve been titled Transformers First Class, I get x-men first class vibes from this movie.
Megatron and Optimus actually seem like really best buds in this, which makes it all the more heartbreaking when they inevitably turn into sworn enemies.
They were brothers in arms man. It's always tragic when they actually delve into what caused the divide😔

I love this. They translated the Gen 1 character designs to 3D very nicely. And Chris Hemsworth sounds really good as Orion. Makes sense considering he worked with Peter Cullen to craft the voice. I'm really looking forward to this.

If this is a trilogy, I really hope it gets darker in tone. Obviously Optimus and Megatron are best friends/brothers to begin, so it makes sense to have this tone, but I really hope it's not just this tone after their divide.
I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure the trilogy has been confirmed I think it’s going to be 1st one all good guys who fight the 1 big bad. 2nd we see megaton changing near the end of the movie the war starts. 3rd war arc destruction of the planet
I think the trailer is shoving all the jokes of the movie into the trailer to make it seem more like a family movie full of jokes. The behind the scene leaks make it sound kinda dark (mabye I'm misinterpreting)

This is why I love animation so much. You basically can do anything that live action cannot.
It’s literally a shout out to how life started off innocent before influenced by the politics and how to survive before Cybertron got devided. What a refreshing take to see how it was before the Autobot and Decepticon divide… gonna watch it🤙😂
The director said in an article that it starts off light hearted then big stakes end up happening and some serious tone will happen at some point which is what I believe they are leaving out because it could be the best and most interesting part about the movie.
I honestly think this will be a Trilogy.
The first film shows megatron gaining some curiosity to the decepticons.
Second film is megatron slowly turning to the decepticons.
And then the 3rd film would be the fall of Cybertron where Megatron turns full on decepticon.
They arent going to green light a second one after this bombs. This has no chance of making a profit.

I'm an old G1 grognard and collector and although I was skeptical at first...I'm down. This looks fun and a great origin story. Gotta remember, this is for the new generation. I was hating on it previously but now, after seeing the image of Soundwave, Starscream and Shockwave...I feel good about it.
They look badazz. This story is really important actually. We've only seen Optimus & Megatron at war. We never saw their relationship any deeper than what G1 showed on the screen and that was pretty much nothing. This looks like it will create an emotional bond for the characters so that when Megatron and Optimus finally go to war, it will make those stakes that much higher.
I think it is being handled well and looks good. And humor? Well, my daughter freaking loved it and so did I. Let's go!
This seems very G1 compliant- I saw a lot of people complaining about how it's not doing the comics origin for Megatron where he was a gladiator / etc, but this is doing the 'Quintessons rule cybertron' origin we got in the orignal series so I'm super hyped.
I think that Bryan tyree Henry as megatron will possibly be the greatest casting in any movie ever

It is sad to know what they become later seeing how fun and such good friends that they were, then the war between them
Lore time so for many who don’t know but Optimus prime always fallowed three origins. The three origins are a dock worker, a librarian or a police officer.
But magnetron is only two one was a miner who rose up and joining politics or gladiator who fought for his freedom. It’s explained more by reading the transformers comics. Also as you can see in the trailer you can see quintisons because they the slave overlords in the transformers universe it’s rarely touched on because that’s is a more darker part of the lore.

Same. I sure hope it doesn't disappoint us. Maybe the characters being humourous is something we need more time getting used to since we never saw this part of the lore in full detail before in most TF media.
But after seeing the trailer breakdowns, looks like the movie team paid a lot of respect, homage & tribute to the wider Transformers lore & every franchise/toyline that came before, for real this time like they went all out to give us probably the best version of Cybertron's Golden Age.

The fact this is an origin story of Optimus prime and Megatron is awesome.
As a longtime Transformers fan, I'm pumped. I think the light-hearted buddy comedy will make it even more tragic when Optimus and Megatron become enemies. Also, I can't wait to see more of Cybertron. The animation reminds of the show Transformers Prime (except these bots have noses of course, ha ha) and since that's my favorite TF show, I have no complaints.
So happy we are finally getting more of transformers on cybertron

I don’t know why grown adults are complaining. This is suppose to be more for the younger demographic. Us adults can still enjoy it even if it’s not what we’re just to. Keep an open mind and see if you like it. I think it looks like a fun film to see in the theaters to be honest.
I like how it looks with the classic designs, the voice acting seems pretty good, the origin story of Optimus and Megatron is always something I’ve wanted to see more on screen, and there’s no humans! I’m excited to be honest💯

Probably because 1. The War for Cybertron hasn’t happened yet, so there’s still peace on the planet.
2. It’s a prequel to all of the media that came before it, so it’s about young Optimus and young Megatron’s alliance with each other before they started becoming enemies against each other

@@ZeroKhaoTiKzYeah I was thinking about that, in the TF: Prime series, D-16 (or Megatron) was supposed to be a gladiator named after the great Megatronus and Orion Pax as a librarian, though then again, this IS before the war, so I’m hoping the sequels will focus on those type of storylines.

The animation reminds me of a mix of the Cybertron scenes in the recent movies, and the Transformers Prime animated show years back.
We saw that one shot of a future megatron with the big decepticon symbol. I think that's enough of a hint for a 1st trailer. I'm sure future trailers will overshare.

Look, I felt the EXACT SAME WAY with Lower Decks for Star Trek. That was always a serious show, and DAMN Lower Decks was reminding me of all the BS we got up to when I was in the Navy stationed on and Aircraft Carrier! Yes you can be super serious when needed, but dayum..you arent that way all day every day you know. So I will go into this with optimism and an open mind. Especially since I will be taking my nearly 6 year old grandson with me!!

Brian Tyree Henry is WAY MORE than just a comedic actor. Dude has AMAZING range. I'm confident he was perfectly cast as Megatron... he's gonna get to display that whole range. Also... don't be surprised if we don't actually see Megatron's heel turn in this flick. If it really is a trilogy, my guess is the second movie will focus on the factors that divide him and Orion, and the third movie would chronicle the actual beginning of the war... if that's how it's blocked out, I don't expect to see Megatron do anything actually unambiguously evil until the third film. The real tension of the trilogy would be whether he would cross the moral event horizon or not... and the tragedy is that he _does_

What time I come back to animated roots there has been tons of animated Transformers movies and shows
It’s the golden age on cybertron before the war decimated the beauty of the planet the live action films feature a war torn version and it’s also exploring different depths/levels of the planet
It's the first transformers animated movie so it makes sense to appeal to a younger audience unlike kung fu panda which completely made the 4th feel so separate from the first 3 when those movies have comedy but still told a serious story the 4th felt like forget our old fans

This is not the first Transformers animated movie. It’s technically the first CG animated movie (it’s the second if you count TF:P Predacons rising), but not the first animated movie.
The first animated movie is Transformers: The Movie from 1986. It’s the movie that introduced Unicron, the Matrix of Leadership, Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, and so on.

@@DOUBBLEAA69 Im just making sure you know the difference. The initial announcement for TF:One made the blunder of calling it “the first animated transformers movie” and it got some flak for that mistake.
Also based on reports it will only be light-hearted for the first half of the movie. Afterwards it’s gonna have a tone shift that will set it towards a more serious and somewhat darker direction. It might be a tone shift akin to Arcane’s tone shift after its first three episodes.

I think surprisingly Hemsworth is doing great as Optimus Prime. You can tell he’s doing a voice and in some parts trying to sound like a young Optimus and in one part it almost sounds like Cullen during a speech in the trailer.
He sounds just like Chris Hemsworth. Same voice as in every single movie.

Most G1 fans want a dark movie for example like the comic book Megatron Origins. Although this looks like an illumination type of film it could work if in Volume 2 or the 2nd. they make it a bit more teen pg 13 and then on the 3rd film boom boom the carnage we all want.
Based on reports, the movie will start off with a more light-hearted tone but will gradually become more serious and slightly darker as time goes on.
During Cinemacon there were reports of people being shown a scene from the movie of Orion and Megatron (D-16) speaking on a serious subject and that people loved it. So we’ll see what happens

@@MegaP12im3 His voice actor will probably use a deeper tone the more D-16 evolves into classic Megatron the more the film goes on. The actor can definitely play an intimidating/serious villain.
I think they’re mainly trying to go with a Moses and Ramses from Prince of Egypt approach for Orion and Megatron. We’ll see their brotherhood at the start and then things become more serious and dark when they become divided and the war starts. The movie ends with the start of the Autobot-Decepticon civil war, so there’s definitely going to be a turning point in the movie.

It's not what I wanted, but I kind of like it.
The origins of esp Megatron is a very dark, heartbreaking story, such as the reason the civil war on Cybertron started (in the IDW comics, and in Prime) I wish they took a more serious route with this animated movie instead of the Marvel-esque humor.
Ever since the Michael Bay movies, I've been very cautious with the Transformers, I'm not actively wanting to see any future movie but I'm not against giving it a watch if the overall reaction to the movie itself is a positive one.
I just hope megatronus’s voice changes and the tone can go just as serious as it is comical in his trailer
His voice actor has definitely given more stern and intimidating performances, so there’s a chance he’ll go into that more serious voice range the more time passes in the movie.
I think it looks great. I was surprised for it to be animated so I’m happy that I’m pleased with the animation. I’m glad that they’re not going spiderverseee. This is going to be interesting!
We need to make this a franchise like right know. This is could be the rise of a new cinematic universe to the transformers and what format could be better that animated, it will be a hit, I am hopeful that it could be. The trailer was very nice, I didn’t expect the teen comedy side that they are going with this but I welcome it with open arms.

They do hint at the rivalry. If you noticed, the trailer starts opening with the two of them, and if you pay attention, megatron is completely missing from the last 30 seconds of the trailer right when Optimus is moonlighting about working together and the closing shot is Optimus and bumble bee, with megatron no where to be seen, and clearly looks like a shot from the ending battle. It shows megatron inevitably is not one of them and is not fighting along side them during the biggest fight supposedly. I predict megatron is convinced by whatever the threat is that the autobots are bad and convinces him to turn against Optimus. The final battle will be megatron and his new decepticons along side whatever the other threat is in a big battle against Optimus and the autobots

Us grown-ups, the hardcore fans loved this saga, toys and all for 40 years.
When this was announced, we were expecting something close to the Cybertron scenes of Bumblebee (2018) or the War for Cybertron series from Netflix (2020-2021).
But then i thought of something while watching the trailer.
Many kids-oriented original series of Transformers have pushed things along for a younger audience.
So now an animated feature film on that same level exist.
Parents who are fans of Transformers and have kids or kids who like Transformers will wanna see this one.
As much as we were expecting something else, this isn't really a bad thing.

I think it will be good visually. Mixed feelings on dialogue and character personalities, but that could be the trailer. If the move is a tad more serious than the trailer, than I will probably like it.
Megatron is the only one that stands out as a potential issue. The version of him in the trailer gives me whiplash because it contrasts heavily with the Megatron I know of from lore.(Low class peon, gladiator, and future evil that would gladly genocide humanity.) Granted, we don't see much of him in the trailer so it could be that.
I feel like someone else could have Bee’s place in this movie. Someone like Ratchet or Wheeljack. I understand that he’s an important part of transformers but I never exactly expected him to have been apart of Optimus’ origin THIS early into it.
Maybe they'll show up in the movie sequals? After all, this was supposes to be the first part of a trilogy and maybe they'll show up in either the second or third movie as the war comes to a head and more bots are drafted in.

@@TheeWandaStan the point is to adapt it. Why it’s called adaptation if nothing is true to its counter part. You wanna make it as close to the comics and or story as possible. This is also not the same story as Michael bays movie bc his movies were never set on cybertron and didn’t do the backstory of prime and Megatron

Transformers fans are almost as bad as star wars fans, in that they hate their respective franchises more than anyone else. Frankly, I'm excited for this. It's an origin story, before the great war. I think it's a great starting point, and as we get sequels, they'll become more dark and serious as they tell the story of how the war for cybertron started.
