  • In early August I took a solo hike to the summit of Keilir mountain whilst on a trip to see the Fagradalsfjall Volcano (on an inactive day).
Mount Keilir is a small volcanic mountain to the south-west of Hafnarfjörður. It can be easily visited when travelling between Reykjavík and Keflavík Airport, or the Blue Lagoon.
I stayed at Hotel Grásteinn (Bolafótur 11, 260 Keflavík) and rented a 4x4 from Geysir rental.
Shot with Insta360 oneR and DJI Mavic Pro (1).

You may have been one of the last hikers over keilir terrain as we know it. Lots of suspicious activity going on right now...could erupt any minute by the looks of things!
    Great video! Keep it up

Its certainly in the right line of activity and not that far from Fagradalfall! The manmade topper was no longer level due to resent earthquakes too.

With the possibility of an eruption at any time, was this a smart thing to do?
