This movie is the definition of decades before it’s time. This and Predator came out in 1987 and still hold weight in modern times
Hear-Here!!
Hellraiser, Lost boys, Full Metal Jacket, The untouchables, the Running Man, Evil Dead 2, The witches of Eastwick, Overboard... Dude, going to the cinemas in 1987 would have been amazing!

It was. Absolutely spoilt for choice.
Now?
I'd rather was the dishes.
No CGI in sight and so good. When people actually made movie effects.
The stop motion hasn't held up that well though really.
'87? still holds up almost 40 years later. Who would've thought a good story and script was all that was needed? Not todays writers that's for sure.
Today's writers are a bunch low lifes that haven't experienced real life. They try write a script about their own demented fake world.
Made me chuckle this did 😂 so true.
As long as there’s something they can just lazily remake, no need for a script! 🤬
I still live in Dallas, where the movie was filmed. I can name or recognize all of the city locations, including this one off Ross Avenue
It's actually happening in dem run cities
The sound design for this movie is impeccable
And yet people can’t recognize Superman when he puts on glasses.
I believe it won the Oscar for sound editing.
Even the sound he makes when walks is so memorable
@@xPanDaemonxI was watching the recent Robodoc..they used the mechanical sounds of an operating VCR for the robo sounds.
@@shafhussain929 that’s genius
Somehow this Robocop is far more believable than the Power-Ranger looking remake.
Everything is better than a remake.

This movie is a masterpiece.
Truer words were never spoken.
it's 'ok'
This was made back in the 80's and the robocop's visual still looks futuristic and awesome. Whoever designed that armor need to be in the guinness
true back then this movie looks like from the future for that now when we are in the future looks stil amazing for that reason looks like that but yeah is cool movie
And don’t forget that this was all standard definition at the time. Shows the power of having a great set designer and cinematographer.
@@thedigitalemotion 'standard definition' ...what are you talking about?? SD is a video term. This movie was shot on 35mm film, not even related to standard definition.

80s and 90s movies are the best
In '91, Terminator 2: Judgement Day 😎👍
Yeah and also the early 00s especially when it came to comedy
"Dead or alive, you are coming with me."
Nice😊
You are so cool bro
Alex: Where’s Clarence?
Make it happen captain 😂
I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold. This is the way.
I'm still traumatized by Murphy's death.
Lot’s of kids were and still are. I speak for myself.
🤜🤛
The complete helplessness of his situation and that Lewis couldn’t do anything to stop it…..
…he got better
My dad was a cop and when I saw that scene it scared the living daylights out of me that the same would happen to my dad. I used to beg him not to go to work for about a month after I saw the film. It was a great film though! Think I was 9 when I first saw the film
@@findjonmoses Jesus! That would not let me sleep either!
What sells it for me after the "Dead or alive" line is the way Paul McCrane plays Emil's reaction. At first he's thinking "Those words sound familiar" but in a matter of seconds he remembers were he heard them and goes into a full on panic, thinking that Robocop is the ghost of Alex Murphy.
Antonowsky : asked gas station clerk if he thinks he can outsmart a bullet.
Also Antonowsky : thought he could outrun a bullet. Failed epically.
Pretty hilarious when he flew 😂
@@mattburke5491 he flew like a bullet. No pun intended. 😁
I miss the good movie days 😥
Never to come back unfortunately, nowadays they would make him wearing a wig and lipstick in search of his sexuality
100% agree
Also, we miss walking to get the videotape for rent 😢
this is when Alex Murphy begins to regain his memory
drop it!
The book has a little more insight into what he was seeing ,and thinking. At the end he thinks, will I have to watch my friends get old and die while I go on?
No. Actually he forgot everything. He only "felt" he had a family.

@@meisterlymanu5214 It's actually in my top 5. One of the best screenplays and sound tracks ever produced. There is no need for me to "seek help". I just have better taste in movies than you is all. ^^
@@TheBerylknight my chinese mates best movie is Transformers. I had to leave the room at that point. Robocop is a clever send up, nothing more. If you like send ups. Starship troopers was another.
@@meisterlymanu5214 Starship Troopers was ok. But no where near approaching the same league as Robocop. That film works on so many different levels it's a miracle of filmmaking. It's one of the reasons I say the 80's was America's renaissance. Because the amount of creativity that went into so many films of that era were nothing short of genius.

The movie Robocop is sure to be one of the 10 masterpieces of the century.
The music transition when Emil realizes who he is amazing. Basil one of the best to ever do it.
Masterpiece.
Ironically, this movie beats many new movies when it comes to story, special effects, and pure awesomeness.

Best Robocop movie ever!!!!
Was 8 years old when this movie came out. By far my favorite and have watched it multiple times that I can’t even count how many.
This movie brings back my childhood. Great, GREAT writing is the basis. Throw in great acting and you have a classic.
This is just the best action hero film of that year, and probably the best film period. And that gas station scene, which was front and center in the trailer, is just perfect. That sound design is killer.
One of the best action films still.
My favorite movie of all time!
I could probably quote this movie from beginning to end lol!
A masterpiece and it’s still ahead of time.
0:44 Great acting on the facial expression when he recognizes Robo Cop.
Masterpiece
My most loved film of all time. Can't even remember how many times I've watched it now.
Guy mustve loved his books

We need RoboCop today more than ever.

Classic movie. Never will get old.
The suit, its timeless!
Powerful scene, amazing movie!
The shows the human spirit can never be deleted.
A masterpiece for sure. Over the top and amazing. This is one of my favorite movies.
ROBOCOP: Halt!
This film is a masterpiece. Wish the film industry these days had the balls to make new original films instead of trying to capture a lightning in a bottle twice.
Whats most amazing is that the criminal later goes on to become one of the top ER surgeons in Chicago!
And then gets a helicopter dropped on him🤣
He turned his life around.

Man, i miss old times !!
Just this scene alone was a masterpiece. The angles, the backgrounds of the shots. It has a good superhero vibe.
Man such a killer soundtrack
This movie is so violent, I love it!
I can watch two movies for the rest of my life! Terminator 2 and Robocop!!

He knows Robocop’s chin very well.

My favorite Paul Verhoeven movie and 2nd favorite Basil Poledouris film score.
This is next level.
Classic!
One of the very best movies ever made.
brilliant movie with strong characters through out
He really sells that moment of "Wait a minute.... I've met this guy before somewhere...."
Yes, this is an absolute classic, yet it is still relevant in its true-to-life satire.
masterpiece
The image looks amazing
0:46 onwards....the score turns into a such a suspensful masterpiece......it really got you to emote with the feelings of a robot......and especially another scene....when anne lewis says Murphy its you
They don't make movies that really grip you like this anymore. Where you feel the confusion he does when he keeps replaying the "we killed you" part over and over again.
Shout out to the stuntman who took the header into the car.
Nowadays all of this would have just been done with c g, How I miss old school hollywood 😊

Amazing Stunt...
Cool movie
Bestest movie ever right after Highlander!
Love how the camera cuts from door open, to Murphy putting right leg from car onto ground. In reality there’s no way a robo suit like that could fit into a regular 80’s mid size sedan.
I always love the Dead or alive you're coming with me line
A chilling scene.
Clarence Boddicker was the one who pulled the trigger that killed Alex Murphy, not this guy!
Pretty close to the perfect action movie. I can't fault it.
The way crime is today, we need Robocop more than ever
Good memories
That line. "We killed you" is an understatement.
When I hear Robocop say, “drop it!” I have some kind of happy-place nostalgia response I can’t really explain.
excellent scene, now and in 40 years more
Top movie
This film is God Like tier.
I just can't believe that Red went from a family man in the 70s to a murdering criminal in the 80s. Eric must have pushed him over the edge. 😊
Picture seems better than I remember
Still to this day looks so fresh and authentic like it was released yesterday.
yeah.....not really...lol
NO ONE EVER AIMED AT ROBOCOPS MOUTH...
no use, thats where the plotarmor is the thickest!
ROBOCOP: Jesus Christ!
Wouldn't do anything. RoboCops face is flesh covering a metal skull.
Robocop eats bullets
Cyborg eat bullets
Amazing to think that the character actor playing the hoodlum ended up portraying a doctor on one of those "E.R." style shows. 😂 I forget which it was. Maybe it was *actually* "E.R." (or "Urgence" in France, heheh).
Robocop is still accurate when a huge explosion happens behind him. Watching the guy fly was funny lol
Ha... classic 👌.
Visionary movie, still painfully relevant in it’s critique today as it was 37 years ago.
Title is wrong. It was Clarence that killed Murphy, not this guy.
Peter Weller in his element
My favorite scene of the movie. So comic-bookish.
Criminal has amazing chin recognition.
This, Ladies & Gentlemen, is another PAUL VERHOEVEN’s MASTERPIECE 🎥🎥🎥🎬🎬🔥🔥🔥🏅🏅🏅🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
I sure miss movies that had marvelous storylines of the 80s.
Aww remember when movies had impact and made you FEEL things??
I like how he let the door slam to let the other guy know he’s there 😊
