    Great video and explanation. I just bought a used PS4 pro, thinking of doing this to mine. As I don't have any games saved, would all I need to do is to reinstall the operating software?

    • @FamilyGeekery
      @FamilyGeekery  14 днів тому +1

      Yes. If you don’t need to save anything, skip that part and just install the new drive and install the operating system. Good luck!

    Make sure y’all click on eject drive on your pc if not your files won’t be saved and will get that annoying usb can’t be found error message

    What happens in case of power loss? Is ssd able
    to do the control procedures like regular hdd?

    Good evening, I read that some games can have problems on PS4 and PS4 pro with the Crucial BX500 while the MX has no problem, it is supposedly a DRAM problem which is not present on the BX500 example spider man / Horizon Zero Dawn, is it true

    Question please. Once you have uploaded operating software for ps4. Do you need to log in with your account credentials or ignore that and these would be added via the back up restore process????

    • @FamilyGeekery
      @FamilyGeekery  2 місяці тому +1

      I think you need to login with your PS account. The restore process just restores the files, etc.

    Nicely done, but is it worth the upgrade? I mean are we gaining gaming speeds or it is just a faster boot up when starting the console? PS4 Pro isn't worth the price of a 2TB SSD, almost same price or the SSD might be costing more depending on the brand.

    • @FamilyGeekery
      @FamilyGeekery  5 місяців тому +1

      Honestly, the most likely purpose of this upgrade is if you want more storage, or if your old drive crapped out. There are some speed benefits, but that shouldn’t be your only motivation. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the great question!

      The benefit is texture loading faster. So, in newer games, you will feel the change. Also, loading time halves when you are using waypoint in the game or fast travel.

    if i did not backup, would i still find my purchases\games when i sign in with my account?

    • @FamilyGeekery
      @FamilyGeekery  18 годин тому

      Yes, you don’t lose any purchases. You just have to re-download whatever you want again. And there may be some game saves that aren’t in the cloud.

      Make sure you grabbed the system software file and not the update file.

      You can download 9.0 firmware and install it. No need to download the latest one. Older one can be found on some archive sites.
