Glad it helped!

Hi. I have a 24-inch version. I'm still looking for a 27-inch in a new shape, but I have had no luck. It's a great monitor, and I like using older Apple monitors and not just chucking them out.
Keep looking. They’re out there. I usually see the 27” ones for around $200, but sometimes as low as $100.
How many feeding schedules can you make ? I hope it is more than 4
I want to ask if MacBook Pro 2015 mid 15 inch is compatible with Crucial P3 Plus Gen4? Or can only Gen3 be used? Thank you!
Thank you very much for your videos. I have a 2018 Trident 3 with a m.2 PCIE 128GB SSD, which I would like to upgrade to a 1 TB SSD. Do you think I can use any current m.2 PCIE SSD without compatibility problem ? For instance Crucial P310 or Crucial P3 Plus SSD PCle Gen4 ?
Yeah, I think you’d be fine with another pcie ssd. Gen 4 would just run at gen 3 speeds probably, but still work.
Thank you for your quick answer !
Thank you for this look at the PAD5000. I’m wondering if the EGO SP1000 or SP2000 solar panel can be connected to the USB C PD port for charging. The panels have a USB C port one can use to charge electronics. On the SP1000 its max rating is 12V, 1.5A, 18W; whereas on the SP2000 its max rating is 20V, 2.25A, 45W. BTW, both panel’s USB C ports accommodate the various lower DC voltages/currents based upon the device connected. It’s not 100W but it sure would be convenient if this type of setup could work like a mini solar charger/inverter/converter seamless backup for smaller electronics (ie: internet modem/router/wifi, communications, TV) in the event of a power outage.
I'm interested in knowing if this would work on a desktop gaming pc. I'd like to put the pc behind my couch and use the lapdock as the monitor and keyboard.
Hello, I'm not seeing the disks i installed in the main tab, but i do see them under Tools-System devices> any idea how to fix?
Did you create an array?
@@FamilyGeekery not yet, since the disks i put in the lincstation do not show up as unassigned disks
That’s weird. I’m not sitting near my Lincstation right now so I can’t look at it. Were the drives brand new, or were they previously partitioned and formatted?
@@FamilyGeekery brandnew out of the box
as of 12/19/24 it installs lion, but when trying to install high sierra on a 2011 macbook pro, it says cannot connect to recovery server, internet connection checks out, But no go.
Bug, or sketchy "intended" behavior from Apple?
I’m just trying to figure out how to record the sound on my mic ; I love how I sound on the microphone but when I want to record it , my phone hears the audio as a regular sound instead of coming from the Bluetooth sound
great video thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I have had both a 23 and a 30 (actually my second 30) You are right to caution people that the 30 requires DVI-D or dual link DVI. But the right graphics card works fine. Or there are dongles like you show for the HDMI to DVI-D, but not all work so make sure the one you get will work specifically with the Cinema Display. However, they certainly are less expensive than the >50bucks on Amazon. IMHO, awesome monitors for a cheapskate like me.
Thanks for the overview. I wonder if its at all possible to boil a kettle from one of these things. I assume the output wattage would be too low.
I just looked at my kettle and it was 1100w. I’m not sure if they make any lower wattage kettles, but you’d probably want to go bigger on your power station choice.
Hello, I’m planning to buy this laptop soon. It’s the model with an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. In short, I need it for browsing the internet, editing pictures on Canva, and videos on CapCut-that’s about it. Battery life isn’t a big issue, but if it can last 2-3 hours without a charger, that would be great. This seems like exactly what I need, and I’ve gotten a really good price for it. Does this sound like the right choice?
2-3 hours of battery depends on the health of the batteries once you get it. But there are so many portable power banks nowadays that can extend your battery life I’d say you are fine. (Check my channel for the small Jackery or the 100w Cuktech reviews). Other than that, the laptop will handle everything you listed like a dream.
Man i love my VCS and for some odd reason i find myself playing it more than my playstation and xbox, dont get my wrong i love my other consoles, its just that Atari was my very first console. So Im in love all over again you know. Plus my younger son loves playing older retro games on it with me, so Atari definitely need to keep offering support for the VCS and newer better games.
I just “accidentally” bought a few more during the Black Friday sales. Now to find some uses for them, lol
Thanks for the video. Short, precise and informative. Great stuff. The online listings are a little complex and confusing but this video cleared things up for me.
Thanks for watching! If you have any more questions, just let me know!
sir i have macbook pro late 2011 13 inch i want to change my intel core i5 2gen processor to i5 8gen or i7 8gen processor can i do its work or not plez answer my sir plez???
No, this will not work unfortunately.
Great vid! Now would you please show us how to hook up a mid 2017 iMac Pro 5k retina (or newer) to an M4 Mac Mini using usb c 3.2? I’ve seen it done with the Luna dongle from some company out there, but not sure the vid I saw is completely accurate. Thanks!

Just a highly overpriced power bank for charging phones, labtops etc. Bought one and can't even start a 240W gadget.
Mine sounds muffled and crappy
Great Video Thank you very much it WORKS!!!
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped.
Great advice and a great channel. Just found you as I'm in the process of fault finding my 2011 13" MBP which keep freezing and using heaps of the 16GB RAM for no apparent reason. I'm now removing all my files to go for a re-install of the OS onto my replacement 1TB SSD, having tried a Recovery twice with no luck
Thanks! And good luck!
How connect game pad to iPhone???
Any reason why mine wouldn’t find the file? I pulled it off ps4 website and put it in the folder named UPDATE
Make sure you’re getting the system file not the update file.
What solar panel , other than anchor can i use .? I have a 40 watt with usb and some round plug in thingy.
Can you set turbo functions or modifying the dead zones?
Choose network option not showing
i just got mine and everytime i plug in my headset it turns my headset off and cuts all audio
Is your headset a TRS or TRRS plug?
Best explanation ❤ as a new camper, this was so helpful and I appreciate the details explaining the wattage which is the most confusing part for me. FYI this is currently on sale on the company's website with a 45 watt solar panel as a gift until December 27th I think.
Does the unit have a reset button?
Just saw another vid on this, these are wicked dude!
Yeah, probably the best bang for the buck in retro gaming consoles. I keep finding them used for so cheap also. Thanks for watching!
When I set my River 3 up as a ups for my router, 2 Pi servers and 3 Blink camera hubs I thought to put the main Pi server on the usb-c. Big mistake. The passthrough AC charging would track the 25w on the AC, but not the 5w on the DC. When I set my charging range to 20-80% it would constantly cycle between the two limits because of the 5w DC discharge. I moved the Pi to the AC power strip and now the AC passthrough matches the AC consumption at 30w and all is well. Customer service responded that the UPS mode is indeed for the AC and the DC are intended for charging devices only. Lesson learned.
I followed the instructions, but the cloning process fails for some reason in my Macbook Pro 13 mid 2012. The new SSD is Verbatim 512 gb.
Do you know if this upgrades your firmware? I have 11.00 don't wanna go any higher
Yes, I believe the software you download from Sony’s site will always be the latest.
The metal rings on the sticks are actually to reduce friction and wear against the housing for smoother movement. Good review!
Can I run a tv, dvd player and a fan all at once? For how long? I don't know the wattage of any of those items.
Hello,I'll be getting this for PlayStation 1 and 2, but I'm so confused about what to buy a ps4 or ps5 controller. If you try them both, which is Most suitable
For the 20” Mac display, couldn’t you plug the USB-A cable into the Mini the same way you did for the 27” and get sound from the monitor as well?
The older displays didn’t have integrated audio. No speakers.
Does this Laptop has 2nd M.2 NVMe SSD slot?
Just catching up on this after your more recent video about Cinema Displays, nice run down! Btw, that TB to FW800 adapter is for sale for $150+ on eBay! Last night I was thinking it would be handy to have one for my last FW800 external hard drive, and got a shock when I did a search for them!
You're right on about good examples of these monitors being better than the cheap new ones in similar resolution - I love my old Cinema Displays! I've moved on the 20-inchers, sadly, but keeping the 23s. You can connect them to an iPad Pro as well though from my testing it seems to need to be a USB-C to Dual Link DVI adapter such as one by Club3D (which is quite pricey).
So with the 300 power supply , you can’t put in a 6600 gpu ?
Thanks for the great video. Question: Could I leave this plugged in all the time? That is, use it as a usb charger/wall outlet but then be able to unplug it and take it with me. I know that most lithium batteries aren’t supposed to remain plugged in/constantly charging. Thanks!
As far as I know, this should work fine. You may need to tweak some settings in the app depending on how much current your devices draw. Most of these will shut off eventually, but you can set the timer or even disable it.
I wish the graphics card could be replaced too 😔
will this help stabilize gaming experience too? 30fps is good for me as long as its stable
What about an Intel iMac 27-inch? I couldn’t use that as a monitor.
Some of the older iMacs allowed “Target Mode” which allows you to use it as a monitor. Search that and you’ll find a page on Apple’s website that lists the compatible iMacs.
I know you can use a MacBook Pro as an extended desktop on current Mac OS, you might be able to use an iMac in the same way.
From what I can deduce, the Lunar Display dongle can give you a connection to use a - in my case - 2015 27” iMac screen. RunningMonterey. 😅I’ve not done it yet and am tempted.
I had the 24" Apple Cinema Display connected to a Mac Pro 5.1 for 14 years, the sound showed as Display Audio, but was from the USB connection,, maybe because HDMI has Audio pins it believes it has a connection, but the converter from HDM to Mini Display Port loses something
The 24” has built in speakers and camera just like the 27”. The 23” I have does not have audio or camera. I’m keeping my eyes open for a 24” to add to my collection, lol.
it works but too slow even with ssd. Thank you. Fresh install will be faster.
