I tried to look for the pattern, but there's no pattern, and the demo only for decreasing on the front, why not also showing the decreasing on the back??? I have to figure it out myself.
Learning this brioche technique but had a question re the needles for the decrease section. Is it possible to switch to a 9” circular needle instead of the DPNs? Thanks!
Hi Bobbie, yes I think a 9" circ needle should work. Since the number of sts decrease steadily, we switch to DPNs for a better fit. So I think the 9" circs will be a good substitute for them. Let me know if you face any issues while trying this. Thanks and best wishes!😀
Yes, technically, you could knit a hat in the flat and then seam/sew it along the edge. I have knit hats in the flat for other patterns but have not tried one for the brioche stitch. Note that the brioche pattern changes a bit when you knit it in the flat vs knitting it in the round (and the 1-color pattern in the flat is much simpler than than the 2-color pattern). But it is certainly worth a try and I think I will try it sometime soon to test it out (if I can manage a good hat that way, will definitely do a video on that). Wonder if you can use this decrease for fisherman rib pattern ? I'm at the top of hat and this looks like a better decrease look than just fisherman decrease anyone know?

Hi Anju, apologies the delay in responding to your previous question, but I am glad you found the transfer stitches link. When you transfer to the DPNs, just use the opposite color of whatever the last row color was (so if you last row before decreases ends with contrasting color, then after you transfer to DPNs, do the first row with the main color and then the next row with the contrasting color, etc). Don't let me sit here stupidfied and frustrated, please.
