❤❤ Ten Years After....saw you in BATH BLUES Festival in 60s magic Still 50 plus years we're all pensioners . Some great drummers that day Jon Hiesman Colesseum, Keef Hartley Band. We've all aged but never grown up
As a teenager now (72) I use to go to the Dancing slipper at West Bridgford Nottingham and watch n dance to the Jay Birds ,,,, Alvin was the greatest guitarist then ,,, 1966ish
I saw tthem three times: at Woodstock, and was on white opium at the time....it was surreal, I was 15, and at Merriweather Post Pavilion,MD , and Catholic University 70 gig, those were the days...
I’ve waited 10 years after this video was posted to comment. I saw TYA at the Forum in 72 and the Shrine in 75. It was exhausting. Ten Year Later in San Diego had more blues than boogie. No band compares.
Long time friends and I have had the pleasure to meet also Alvin Lee before a long time, Brilliant Band ever. T.Y.A. amazing until today also with different line-up you must hear them. I you like Leo & Joe listen also to H.S.S. hundred seventy split, you will love them too.
Wow! Nostalgica to hear this live like this. I'll bet Lee smiled big time up in heaven. So, now we've also heard The English Answer to Joe Bonamassa. TYA still rocks! And why shouldn't they? When it sounds like this, there's only one thing to do really. ROCK ON!!!
Although we all miss Alvin Lee, John Gouch is a terrific guitar player and singer, and does more than justice to the song and band he is in....Leo Lyons is a superb bassist and also Chick Churchil and the drumer Rick Lee. This band is one of rock and blues best ever ! Hope millions will rediscover them !
@@ceedogg4270 God I thought I was just being overly critical, but that was my first thought. Guitar is okay (lacks the fullness of Alvin's hollow body) and the singing is flat and lacking.
Great lead and vocals ....I never got to hear much of 10 Years After and then the only song was "Going Home" ....this lead singer leader guitarist is excellent ...
Crap had this on Quad 8 track, installed in a 1970s French Simca car, back in the day. Somewhere I still have the tape. I think I was the only one that had a tape of TYA. Used to play it traveling down the beach along Emerald Isle, NC. Man, having flashbacks to a fading past. I think I purchased it at a Sears, back when they had a wonderful record area.
Those are damn big shoes to fill and I started watching with a healthy dose of skepticism , but that dude got some skills! Alvin would be proud to see his old band mates the new kid continue his legacy at such a high level.
I get the dismay of some here but this cat Joe Gooch ? The man does a excellent job..🎸 And as far as the other three are concerned ? God bless them for having the guts to brush off any comparisons to the "Lee" days/daze. 🎸
Man , this is as sweet as Honey from the Hive . And this is coming from someone that saw TYA 3 times in the early 70s . Tasty chops to make Alvin Proud . He may be gone but may his Music and TYA Live on . R.I.P. My Brother .
БОГОВЕ, КОИТО ТАЧА !!! This was the best ever concert after Alvin Lee. Music is a totall recall experience, it doesn"t have to be just nice or perfect, good musicians take us on a journey, and it's up to us whether we like the journey. In Holland we lack shame, this is full of life!
... if it sounds good, then it is good, no matter how you call that thing, Ten Years After, Ten Years Later, Hundred Seventy Split ......, Alvin Lee is gone, of course much too soon and he - I am sure - would appreciate the quality of this band and yes, these guys play real good and deserve respect !
I am a very big Alvin Lee fan. In short, I think he a Top Ten all time talent. Great player, writer and singer. He was my favorite player in my teens. That being said Joe Gooch is a monster player and the rest of the band is killer here as it always was. Unfortunately, IMO, Joe and Leo left for their own outfit Hundred Seventy Split. Gooch was a perfect stand in for Alvin respecting his style and adding more modern guitar techniques, if you will. There is fire coming out this guy's fingers when he rips. To my mind, I want TYA music to live on and to be played at a high level. When Mozart died, his music continued. Same for John Lennon and on and on. So, I have no problem with this. It documents the greatness of one Alvin Lee with an understudy who is no slouch, for sure, even though his name is Gooch LOL. I have said it up on UA-cam before, but Gooch is outstanding and better then most of his more famous guitar contemporaries. Word up.

Beautifull good vibrations! A statement how Ten Years After, with our young member, even after fourty years, can generate life in all of us. Truly truly beautifull!
Je les ai vu en concert plusieurs fois, la super pêche, ça joue très fort....on est bien loin des pseudos groupes de rock qu'on peut voir sur les plateaux TV où dans "NRJ music awards"..... à consommer sans modération, du pur jus R&Roll
I have always been a fan of these guys - ever since A Space in Time. I saw them for the first time on this tour in 2008. Same kind of venue: outdoor stage, warm weather, about 8000 people. Old guys (of course one young but terrific guitar player) who are so, so good at what they do. It is one of the best rock shows I have ever seen. Lyons can still really rock hard.
Ít's a beautifull recording! as teenager i was in love with ''help me'' live, but now, fourty years later, i enjoy this new energy very very much. Truly beautifull!!
This guitar player is good enough to play "I'm Goin' Home" even though he plays a completely different style Than Alvin did. He's really good. A little smoother, maybe even a little faster. Alvin was the greatest, but this kid does him justice. though I realiize this is 9 years ago, it's good to know there are people out there still playing this kind of music today. Ten Years After Rocks On!
I wish I would have discovered Alvin Lee sooner I just discovered him in the last year!!! I am a Millennial so forgive me. I have been on a musical quest to educate myself on all this great music.
What a SUPERB concert!! Mr. Leo Lyons, Chick Churchill, Rick Lee are just amazing, but Joe Gooch is fantastic on lead guitar. Ten Years After songs played on a Fender instead of a Gibson is a really nice difference. Thanks for the video!!
Brilliant - great music played real good. Enjoyable listening to good musos who are having a ball grooving together and giving us great listening pleasure - Alvin Lee would be stoked to hear his legacy continue with gusto!
Whatever you all say, Alvin would have liked this. This guitarist is not Alvin but he is good. And the band is as great as ever so why not go on instead of feeling sorry for themselves and indulging in memories.
initially disappointed, till I looked at the rest of the guys...they are having a blast, playing their hearts out, and they are totally showing their appreciation to Alvin by playing His material...I'm sure Alvin would be thrilled, and the young fella on guitar is doing an excellent job. The band sounds as good as ever also...great tribute to Alvin in my book...they sound great
These are the Ten Years After I saw and heard in a show at Colmar, France. They were just amazing even though we all miss what Alvin would have become but John more than fills his shoes. Un groupe qui a toujours eu un soutien rythmique exceptionnel avec le travail de Leo Lyons à la basse électrique et de Rick Lee à la batterie. I never really had a chance to hear this band much. For whatever reason when I was a teenager they were not very prominent where I lived. I must say as a rock fan and musician myself, I've never seen a group of old timers even older than me rock out so tight! Shit, they were right in the pocket on that first song despite the lighting fast tempo they played it at! I'm impressed! ✌️👍🤘
Saw TYA back around 1970, just between the excellent Cricklewood Green and the disappointing Watt albums. They always delivered it on stage, and these four keep the flame burning. Great job from the band with Joe Gooch.
Hope they press some vinyl, I’d buy it. Great version of good morning little school girl, well done. Man, Leo’s still got it, a true master at his craft. These guys are ready fore prime time imho.
Still amazing for so many

Leo Lyons, The KING OF THE BASS GUITAR.
Tim Bogert ?! Pls
Don't forget Jack Bruce.
Beck Bogert and Appice saw them too back in early 70s.
Agreed, after a certain point its entirely subjective. James Dewar was another favorite of mine.
Truth..
This dude plays guitar like there's no tomorrow...fantastic playing...kudos !
he is good but no alvin

What a GREAT band! There are not enough superlatives to heap upon them.

The true successors to the original TYA sound - with a phenomenal guitarist
The most underrated band EVER. Joe Gooch or Alvin Lee. Leo Lyons too. Chick and Rick. Get these guys into the R&R HOF.
Man, you ain’t kidding. So good to know and see that the original band is still playing. RIP Alvin Lee you we’re definitely one of the great ones!
Fantastyczny zespół, fantastyczny koncert

Gran banda de la vieja escuela. El flaco la hace genial tocando y cantando. Se extraña al gran Alvin Lee💯🤘🤟✌️💪👏👏👏👏👏
Great! Well done Joe Gooche! Great guitar sound!!
We have lost many of our generation but when people step up and play what we love to hear than we should appreciate it if they do it well !
