I feel like I learned something and you were not irritating. I consider these among the highest compliments. Thanks and nice work.
Looks are always most important 😂
Thank you. I hope all educators about tech are the same in explaining things like you did. Straight to the point and informative.
Having used a friend's curved monitor for a few days, it definitely has pros and cons. Mostly pros, except when editing specific types of videos. It can feel like the video is distorted (like a fisheye lens) and it can be difficult to tell if it's the monitor or my video. It has seriously caused me to rethink my plans to buy one. For office tasks and general content consumption, it's amazing.
Very informative video without distracting and gimmicky audiovisuals. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you very much. Perfect presenting and very informative
Excellent. All the right info. No BS. Thank you sir!
Great video. This really helped me to understand what I needed to look for. I'll pass on getting one for now, but you've got a subscriber.
Thank you for this video! I'm gonna buy a flat screen monitor precisely because I want many people to watch what I show.
Outstanding video, thanks!
Amazing video thank you so much. You helped me so much in my search for a new monitor. 🍻💚
very clear explanation bro!!!
You glanced in the direction of image distortion when you were talking about the convex curve of crts but I was kind of expecting you to at some point in the video address the following questions: Does the concave curve of ultra wide monitors distort the image to a person viewing from the recommended pov? If there is a straight horizontal line at the top of the screen, does it not curve along with the top edge? And if so, can graphics hardware (or software?) compensate by distorting the image AGAINST the effect caused by the monitor?
straightforward and detailed, thank you!
You're welcome!
I really like the way you explain things, very eloquent.
Good vid man helped me out
very well explained thank you
Excellent , thanks.
👏 your channel and content deserves more subscribers
Thanks for doing this vid u answered a lot of my questions about curve monitor vs flat monitor.
You're welcome!
You definitely earn your subscribers sir 👍🏻
Great video ^^ Watched it on my flat monitor
Very insightful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video.
You're welcome. Thanks for commenting :)
Many thanks for the video
My personal case
I trained my brain to see straight lines on a curved monitor (1500R 32" 16:9) @ 90cm.
It is more comfortable for the eyes when you scan the edges.
For CAD is not a problem because you have all sorts of references so you can tell perfectly what you are doing.
I double guess myself everytime y have to change the proportions of an image in Lightroom or photoshop but I don't usually miss.
In Premiere if you focus to see it you can tell there is a bend on the timeline because is very long. But if you focus on the job and relax so see it straight.
Pros
The immersion when playing games and movies
Easier for the eyes to focus because all points are at the same distance from you.
Cons
Not for everyone
Need to adjust
Not for critical jobs.
Not for two people.
Good 👌
Thanks for the summary :) ❤
Curved will be a No for me then
Dealing with the distortion is my first issue. Already regretting spending almost $300 @@hellopsp180
thank you
Very helpful to me!
Thank You
majority of the people on this platform have no idea what they are talking about and spread misinfomation for the sake of views. you however, did your research and i appreciate that my friend! 👍keep spreading the truth and dont lose motivation! you are contributing towards the greater good for generations to come!
I work for 3 years with a a curved ultrawide monitor and i really can recommend it.
Got a new sub cause you know how to properly explain things.
Thanks and welcome :)
Great explanation, thanks.
Thanks for watching!
well explained
good explanation, thanks dude!
Glad it helped!
Great video!
how is it for productivity?
Thank you for such a good explanation, I am a full stack dev looking for options wether to buy curved or flat.
what you decided?
@@anuragfreak for now I have chosen curved as I am using m1 air which has single monitor limitation.
you're awesome btw for a very long time, I FINALLY watched a video from minute 1 to the end lol great job! great way of talking and explaining as well
You sound like you have a short attention span.
nice video!
Can 2 people play also on a concave screen????
considering at the distance I have my two red guard monitors, I would need 48" monitor to fill my full vision.
what kind of Watch is that
Objectively yes. They are objectively better than flat displays, mainly for eye-strain. This isn;'t a new feature they developed to intice users to buy their products; it's just what was going to happen when you have higher resolution displays that people will sit closer to. It reduces eye strain and keeps the viewing angle as close to optimal as possible; this is important because most monitors are not IPS displays which cost quite a bit more. So it was really just a natural consequence of IPS panels costing a lot and company's realizing they could still use VA displays high resolution monitors if they curved the screen, with the added benefit of looking cool and dramatically reducing eye strain.
I use two flat monitors in the office and wear glasses. Would two curved monitors be better?
I bet a curve works real good with Doom2016 😍
I'm asking for advice. I intend to buy a gaming monitor, ( NOT for gaming primarily ), but to connect my Samsung Z Fold 3 smartphone, and to use the monitor as a second screen for the smartphone. Primarily to watch movies and videos. Occasionally, there will be some gaming, using my smartphone. I do have a gaming desktop PC, which is an entirely different set up, and I don't need any help with that. Question: Since my smartphone display is 1920 X 1080p resolution, with a refresh rate of 120hz, would I be wasting my money, if I bought a gaming monitor with a higher resolution, ( say, for instance 1440p, and a higher refresh rate, say, for instance 165 or 170 hz )? Wouldn't my monitor be "limited" by the capabilities of my smartphone, and therefore, I would "not" need a monitor higher than 1080p resolution, and also, no higher than a 120hz refresh rate? Same specifications as the smartphone's display? Is that true? Or, false? Thank you very much. I appreciate your input. I think the answer is obvious, ( even to me ), but I want to hear someone else tell me.
Im really used to flat so i might get a monitor with high R like i saw one with i think 3000 is that “good”?
I have a curved screen and im looking at it being like. Why? Aside from looking cool it really adds nothing more then a normal screen would. IDK. Its not bad but it just seems to be more aesthetic.
Does it make gaming better or worse?
Is it good for shooters like cod or other games like rocket league
If you want to play competitively, then a 22-24" flat monitor is the weapon of choice, since you can see everything on-screen with ease.
I love em curvy 👀
Which is more eye safe 24 inch curved or 24 inch flat?
I currently us a 24 inch Curved and have down for a year or so and I don't have any eye related issues,
I have a question so I had a curved monitor but dropped and broke it after having it for a year and There’s a nice 34 inch flat monitor that I can afford but the biggest curved and can afford is about 30 or 27 which one should I get for gaming
if its for casual gaming like Minecraft or fall guys and other games like that get a 30" but if it is more for fps games like valorant cod and fortnite get the 27"
0:36 omg elektron
Well, is it better? Where's the user poll results about it..? Which curve size is liked most?
Hello I bought my first curved monitor and I have some strange experience. After several days of using that curved monitor I have started seeing other flat monitors, tv's and basically any other flat stuff as curved but in the other direction... Like an old CRT monitor. I am also seeing other straight lines as curved.
Can someone tell me if this can cause damage to my eyes and brain, something like a distortion when looking at flat objects being perceived as curved?! Or is it that my eyes are adjusting in some strange way?!
I still have 2 days to RMA it!!!
I would like to know as well.
Your brain thinks curved lines are straight because the screen is bending what your brain knows to be straight lines in 3d environments. Now actual straight lines appear curved. It's a type of illusion. But I think because you've likely spent hours staring at it instead of a few minutes like you might an illusion, so it's effect is far longer lasting.
@@ArmadaAsesino So really there's no lasting benefit of curved. In fact, it fucks up flat screens for you since your brain literally distorts your image to compensate.
@@ArmadaAsesino I tried one for 3d modeling. It’s great if you’re working in one area but once you stand up and look from a distance and see your model strangely curved, it starts to mess with you. You really can’t do any free form 3d modeling because you may pushing vertices in the wrong direction.
If you are programmer and care about your spinal health, you'd throw away your chair get a standing mat and a standing stool and change position often dynamically to stretch actively instead of hanging into stretches every time the same way - thus and with this great information in the video, I'd think a wide flat monitor is better for usual work
Interesting.
From my personal experience, it's actually bad for working, feels very straining to look at the monitor when you're trying to read smaller texts. Might even be bad for your vision.
How far away should I sit from a 32
1.75 meters
No, but its cooler :)
Play some music! Let's hear you play the guitar again. I enjoyed it.
Carmelo enjoys Sydney's licks.
@@brnoamik He plays a great bass. I have heard him several times.
i only accept computer tech advice from guys who are chunky, bald and has double chin. you know these guys know their shit
Now I more confused.
Same
I don't mean to be that guy, but you said "Concave" when speaking of CRT, did you mean Convex?
Yup, that was an error I meant to say convex! Good catch.

Still a fantastic break down of the Pros/Cons, it's helped me make my purchase decisions between both my Personal TV and the monitors I'm getting to modernize my dated office setup.
Take care and thank you for taking your time to review this for all of us, it's very much appreciated!
VR is king
It's just marketing bollocks - trying to get you to spend money on something you never knew you needed (because you don't!).
Whats good if you are looking at pdf drawings artitechtual drawings?
Ms excel, pdf drawings, split screen, basisc browsing.
I am thinking ultra wide. Flat or curved. Or two flat ones ???
I have curve monitor it crap
