    Just a comment on how helpful and entertaining your videos are. I recently purchased a 1988 Ford 1320 in excellent shape and your help has been greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!

    I'm very grateful for these videos you took the time and care to make and share. Thanks a lot! I have a Ford New Holland 1715 which is very similar and you are my mechanic guide!

    I have a 1996 1520 - 1600 hrs and running great. I did all the fluids at 300 hrs and since then only change the hydro filters and top off. The hydro fluid is still clear. On the front axle - I had a leak on the right knuckle and determined that I had overfilled the axle by not screwing the dipstick in all the way like you show. The fluid is so clear and the dipstick so hard to read that I have to touch the dipstick on a blue paper towel to check the level - I can't see it. Thanks for the videos - they don't make compact tractors like this anymore. I'll be keeping mine for a long while yet.

    Does anyone know where I can find a final drive filler plug, Ford 1920 tractor? Also, thank you for the great video series, truly helped me do the 300 hour service on my tractor.

    Before I got the 1920 4 wd I had 1710 4wd! These are tough tractors!

    Thanks for sharing, I have been searching the internet to see if that front axle dipstick needs to be screwed in or not to get an accurate oil level reading (I have the 1220). I'm going with the way you checked it unless I hear otherwise down the road. I am leaking fluid from the top of the final gear case (4wd) but I'm wondering if I overfilled it or if a seal is bad.

      @JM-sy5qv 3 роки тому

      it's the seal most likely. it's a surprisingly easy job on a 1220.

      @@JM-sy5qv Is this something an older shade tree mechanic could do, or are there special tools involved?

    • @JM-sy5qv

      @@ValConB hardest part is getting the seal out. Take off tie rod and steering rod. You take off the the 4 top 17mm bolts (the thing that pivots the wheel) and smack the knuckle off with a mallet and it just falls off, so be sure to catch it. There you can just take the Seal off on the bench. Use old seal to seat new seal with a mallet. Then smack knuckle back into its original place. Look up ways to take off seal as you don't want to Mar anything

      I also have a 1220 and came here to find if I should screw the dipstick or not 😂. I screw mine in, and it was a bit overfilled, but don't know if that´s the right way (I believe it is tho). My Suzuki DRZ-400E tells me specifically NOT to screw the dipstick. It definitely varies from manufacturer to mnf.

    Did the same change this weekend. Also noted the ambiguity with volume to be added for the three points. Took the tires off
    for easier access to fill and drains. When all was said and done it took less than a quart to fill each final and the > 1 quart in the main. Q - Do you have the HST on yours? Didn’t notice a HST filter change when you did your hydraulic change video. 👍

      Hey D. Fisher how did you figure out it how much went in the final drives I did find a way to check it? I've got a 1710 I'm redoing.

      Charles Griner Hey Charles, sorry for the slow response. I measured what I drained out on the main drive When I refilled that got me close until I could see level on the dipstick. On the individual drives i filled till they overflowed.
