Hi James, I really enjoy your videos on the 1520 tractors. They have helped me maintain my 1320. Do you know what type of fluid is used in the power steering?
If I remember correctly it was the same hydraulic fluid as the rest. However, your NH dealer can look it up they are still surprisingly helpful with these older tractors. At least mine are...
Keep up the good work. Just inherited the same tractor from an uncle with a 7108 loader and am working through a similar list of maintenance items. No previous experience with tractors but am loving the learning curve. 👍
I own a 1992 Ford 1620. Had changed out my oil/oil filter last fall. Was thinking I should take it in for a hydraulic fluid change and then watched one of your other videos. Yup - looks like I’ll being doing the hydraulic fluid myself. Thank you
I just got done changing the clutch and hydraulic fluid and steering fluid and doing the engine tomorrow, on my 1517 , look under your at the bell housing and look for a vent hole as ford made that vent hole to small and they put a cotter pin through it and that hole isn't much bigger that cotter pin and the bell housing will fill up with water and mess up everything that is in there, find that vent and drill it out to a half inch if you like your clutch to last.
Is the setup on the 1510 similar? Also my 1510 pto doesnt wanna seem to stay in place when i engage it now. It just pops back out. What do you think may be going on?
Like the videos! If I can I will crank an engine over untill it builds oil pressure, or for about 30 seconds without letting it start, by just jumping the solenoid or by cranking it over with the fuel rack off or with ignition off, depending on engine, such as the throttle being able to shut the fuel off or a fuel solenoid or ignition system on gas engine. Now I just bought a nice 1520 at auction for $2380, snow blade and mower deck, drove it off the lot. Its Hydrostatic, and the oil looks like white paint........
So, so helpful. Thank you for all the vids in your 1520 series! Will be following all your instructions this spring with a “new to me” 1992 1520.

I’m sorry, but I sold all my equipment and have nothing to work on! Prices were just too good…
