Not when some fans are already talking the "Pogback" thrash. A player who nearly put no efforts in as soon as his loud mouth agent started the nonsense talk of United being able to ruin a Maldini if he came there.
Pedro Gonçalves and Trincão are different players. You are right, they play different roles. Trincão is better carrying the ball quickly to the front, great comming back and supporting and combining with the midfielders, very intelligent and great stamina (honestly, you should get him to sign for Man United, he is perfect for the role and it would take lots of time and money to train someone to get to his level in what concerns to the knowledge of Amorin's tactics). Pedro Gonçalves is like a midfielder that was adapted to play at the front, great with the ball and with a fantastic shooting capacity - he rarely misses the goal - and great in the assistences. I think that Bruno would be great in this role. But there are so many variables in Amorin's tactics... it will take time to have the team playing it with their eyes closed, like Sporting does. You need to give him time and treat him well... PLEASE! You won't want anyone else, for the great coaching and leading abilities he has and for the amazing person he is.
I think Bruno is the best candidate for left inside forward. Not quite the same role, but he thrives in that area of the pitch. He could also play right inside forward and leave space for Rashford, Garnacho and Zirkzee. There will obviously be modifications according to the squad, I can't think of them. But this system plays into the strengths of a lot of our main players. I am optimistic.
do you actually believe rashford or garnacho with that explosive selfish style of play have a future in that system? garnacho cant pass a simple pass .. his shots are good but surely cant link up and create through passes .maybe he will learn to play right wing
@@Azad-Azimi Rashford is good in the channels. He can be the primary goal threat rather than the no. 9. And then instead of Hojlund we'll play Zirkzee. That's how we'll rotate the offense.
A.G. & Rashy can fight for the Left 'CAM' and their individualistic gamestyles may work when the 9 pulls away the defence to give them advantage. Right CAM: Mount n Bruno for their final third creativity and legs to press when we switch it on in opponent's final third. (I'd Consider Mainoo too for this as well, but I'd rather have him as the forward moving piece of the double pivot, Good ball carrying, which I'm sure will still improve) Ugarte next to Mainoo. Right Winger: Amad/Antony/Dalot. Especially Amad whose tenacious to recover a ball and sort of instinctively flip on a counter attack. Hojlund will really thrive with this so he stays. Zirkzee too, When we're playing a more reserved setup. Left winger:Nous/Dalot. Back Three [Left: Butcher/Shaw. Middle Deligt/Lindelof. Right: Leny (nailed-in start)/Dalot(Against teams that arent muvh threat going forward). I think our squad is quirky enough that this could actually work.
I'm not sure Zirkzee has the class, but his ability to drop deeper with back to defenders or otherwise and move the ball to the third phase is pretty good. He may be a good IF option to drop deep looking for the ball in the second phase.
Something I am really grateful for to ETH is getting rid of most of divas in team and setting an expectation that training performance will be rewarded
Another great video again AJ. I completely agree with the video. Furthermore, what i understand is the right forward is typically more of a tecnical dribbler and the left forward plays as a SS plus can ball carry. Though both in the final third are given the license to playmake.
I've been yapping about this for ages in the discord (join the discord ppl). Conrad harders best moments have come in this left half space position, and while i think rashford in the lhs, and rasmus in the 9 is more likely, we could also see the reverse. The left half space is rasmus best shooting position, and the central 9 is the least intense role OOP, think it would suit both.
I can see Bruno, Mount, Amad and Rashford all thriving in these positions. Also potentially Zirkzee. I'm not so sure the inside forward role is well suited to Garnacho, and I definitivly don't think he's an AM or a CF. To me it seems inevitable that Amorim would try him as a wing back. Antony is probably a pretty decent profile for one of the AM roles, but unless he really shapes up I don't think we will see him playing a lot there. The wing back positions and the inverted winger / AM positions are the ones that are seemingly gonna be most in flux.
absolutely agree on garnacho .he is simply an average player .those inside forward positions need world class footballers with vision and technical skills
Kudos to you on the work you’re putting in….. but firstly the player I think will benefit most from this kind of tactics is Rashford Because I’ve always been hammering it that this guy is not a winger and letting him hug the line is not his thing Rashford is player that loves to play as a second striker he always wants to be in and around the box and that’s where he’s dangerous and this kind of system will limit his defensive work That inside forward is where I personally think Rashford will excel mostly and benefit from. I wish to at least have a chance to explain further if we both can have a chat. Thanks 😊
We have so many possible combinations of IFs. I want to see Rashford and Fernandes, just to get Rashford started, but Fernandes to the left and Amad to the right is probably the best option. Wingbacks is a tricky one. Go for security in Mazroui + Dalot or a little more offensive with Garnacho?
Bruno can even play that left IF role but agreed, right is almost ideal for him. He just needs to work on receiving the ball under pressure. I'm sure Amorim and his team can train that
I still think Bruno as the lhs 10 and Amad as the rhs 10 will give us the best output, I highly doubt Bruno has the temperament to play as the deeper 10. His best work is up the pitch where he can create or finish chances and he's the most similar to Goncalves
yea i also think the same. bruno best position is left 10, and amad is really good at right inside. they would be massively benefited from this formation
I see Hojlund as central striker, working in tandem with Zirkzee or Rashford. Inside forwards can rotate between Rashford, Bruno, Garnacho and Zirkzee. I can also see Eriksen playing further upfront as a more creative inside forward
Just listening to this, and I thought...Mount would actually fit that right AM/IF role really well. Obviously, Bruno is going to play there, but I can definitely see him being rotated more, and when Mount is fit he can often come in to play there. Rashford - Hojlund - Bruno or Rashford - Zirkzee - Mount is definitely something I can see. First option is maybe better against stronger teams, when we have to rely more on counters, and where we don't dominate games. But second option imo is much better against teams we can dominate (you can always put Hojlund there instead of Zirkzee as well). I really like Amad, but I don't know where he can fit. Obviously that right IF spot, but I feel too many players are competing for that position, and I don't think if Bruno starts there, that he'll get many chances. Also, I'm not sure about him as the right wing / wingback. Ideally you'd have someone more physical there, who can just run up and down for 90min.
amad is better than rashford, and maybe same level with mount at that right inside forward. rashford is better at left inside forward, but we know that will be bruno position cause he much better from left side than right.
Huh... How you've broken this down reminds me of the "Diagonal" W-M formation from the 50s. It was a half-way house between the then new 4-2-4 and the old rigid W-M where one of the half-backs and their corresponding inside forward were more attacking (or defending) than the other, turning the midfield square into an angled diamond/polygon. Incidentally, the tactic collapsed if the manager was too rigid in keeping the system while not realisng every player was different - i.e: the more attacking CM is swapped out for a defensive one, but the more attack IF doesn't get told to drop back, leaving a larger gap in midfield on that side. Or the more defensive CM is replaced by someone who prefers attacking, leaving the backline open while he smashes head first into the deeper IF. - See Wilson's "Inverting the Pyramid." Given Amorim's tactical flexibility, I have a feeling the only time United will struggle with this concept is when the players screw up, rather than him doing a ETH and not realising the problem.
Zirkzee should be the higher inside forward. I think he’ll do better if he’s not the main striker but the support, that way he has less pressure on him
