Quick and to the point tutorial. Excellent video for those of us with a basic question and don't need hand holding or advice.

I’d hate to think that I lost $30 worth of refrigerant for 50 cent worth of o-rings

I just put one in, and Im re-using the old o-rings too. I hate to think I lost a saturday afternoon and 30 dollars of freon using some cheap chinese o-reillys o-rings as opposed to OEM AC Delco ones that look and feel like new.

@@puppetmasterblaster So you’ll use a Chinese oreillys dryer but not the o-rings that come with it? Got it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

A guy takes the time to do a very good video of a task on his truck to help others and what does he get? Grief. Yeah, he should have used gloves out of principle and he should have used the new O-rings but compared to many other attempts at video prowess on You-Tube auto DIY, this was pretty good.

Forgot to add refrigerant oil to accumulator as per mfg. procedures. Requires 1-3 oz. proper oil depending on model.

Does there have to be oil in the accunmulator?

On a vehicle that old it's not always a good idea to use the old o-rings. If you have a leak afterwards you will have to evacuate again and basically do it all again.

My truck won’t run and I need to replace the AC compressor so the clutch runs with the belt. To do that I need the accumulator changed with it. But to depressurization that I need to drive it somewhere to have the refrigerant drained?

So anyone here know if do I have to pour some oil to the new accumulator? I’m replacing the ac compressor and also the accumulator but after me installing I will bring to the mechanic to do the vacuum and the refill should I worry or the mechanic should take care of that too thanks
