Workshop Diaries - From Season 1 Episode 16 "1986 Range Rover Will It Start?": 'Will it start?' is THE question we have all been wondering about since John's garden find 1986 Range Rover was pushed into the workshop!
Having already installed some custom-made fuel lines and a new fuel filter, this week's job is to install a new fuel pump and sender into our freshly de-rusted fuel tank and then get that tank re-attached to the car. Surely once the fuel is flowing the engine will start?

I’m as frustrated as most people commenting on here, and whoever is putting up the repeats, it might be worth just giving us an idea of when we might see new content?
That being said, even programmes like Wheeler Dealers, CAR SOS and the like, we get 10 episodes then it disappears for a year! So really, this isn’t a new thing. And I know I’ve rewatched CAR SOS several times over, same with episodes of Wheeler Dealers!
Just hope Edd himself is ok.
But poor show not letting the fans know… ‘something’, when clearly so many are asking!
I hope Edd and his wife/family are all fine.

Has something happened, I only ask as recent videos seem to be old ones but I may be wrong
@@jeep2701 nothing has happened, he does this, disappears off UA-cam for months without a word and then re appears, just his time, recycled content is being uploaded, presumably to maintain hits in the channel without doing anything.
@@jeep2701 I have no idea. I saw him post a message on here that 9heavily paraphrased) he was okay but there have been distractions in his life. And that there would be new content fairly soon.
Or something like that.

Will we be getting new content soon? The success of Harry's Garage, Hoovies Garage etc is the regularity and frequency of posting. We seem to be waiting a long time for the occasional rerun of previously seen footage.

It's worth it to get the tool kit to pop out the connectors. The kit comes with tools for all sorts of connectors...round and square.
The rope holding the hatch closed is priceless! I had to RR classics and other than being ‘fiddley’ the never let me down and each gave me 150k or more of service.

When is a new, full episode coming out?
The black & white to the blue & brown is reminiscent of connecting US mains power cables to rest-of-the-world power (given they and Canada seem to be holdouts on their Black live, White neutral, Green earth colour scheme), only without the bang from someone forgetting about converting voltages, because that's mains power, not 12vDC of a knackered range rover... :P

Hi Edd, LOVE the show! A question for your 'Ask Edd' section: I recently inherited a grey import, a 2007 Mitsubishi Delica D5. It's mechanically sound but the window seals are perished, allowing rain to sluice straight into the doors. These seals are no longer available even from Japan. Do you have any suggestions please? Thank you!

Literally just fixed my Volvo 240 there before I watched this video wouldn't start turns out the distributor cap was worn and damp and rotor arm worn put new ones hey presto away she result 🙂 .
Not sure if something bad is going on with the Ed or anybody in the crew or family member that is making them repost this videos but I hope all is alright and is just a short vacation period!

Edd, hi from Russia. I'm following Your great TV and UA-cam career for the last 20 years and would say, You are not a great repairer, but a talented engineer.
If to have such a man in garage, it would be my dream to have 20-30 old and rare cars and such a company like You ;)
In the top of Your career at Wheeler's dealers in 2003-2007 I was always used to set You as example for my garage men. And, actually, they were so stressed by me that they started to follow Your series and were also happy to note, that You can touch a wheel and saloon inside with rusty or oily hands :))
Also, You are a great showman.
But maybe You are a better talent than to repair somebody's projects? Why have You stopped the idea not to repair but to produce vehicles (except the funny sofa and likewise)?
If You have some ideas and experience in R&D, please let me know.

Mr. China I just want to say I'm a big fan and you do some awesome things I'm a mechanic for Mopar and I am trying to get my certifications one day I hope to be as skilled as you are!
question edd id the the landy a petrol or diesel model???
personally if it were me I'd likely buy a running gear and engine in a inline 6 or v8 toyota at least you will make it reliable for the next 50-100 years
It's the V8 petrol engine, I forget it's capacity, but definitely petrol...
While Diesels do have glow-plugs, they definitely don't have spark plugs.
Instead, the Diesel is so highly compressed, that it spontaneously combusts.

Regarding '86 RRC:s. I've got weird problem. My cylinders 2&4 do not fire at all. Rest fire away just fine. I've tried swapping the spark plug wires, I've changed the spark plugs, there's nice spark anyways, compression is equal between the bank and I've also swapped the plugs (recommended champions). And there's also fuel (it oozes through the manifold even) and the fuel injectors are checked by the shop also. Kinda running out of ideas :D. Swapping to OM605/606 is always an option of course :D.

I've worked on cars for 25 years and not a patch on Ed's knowledge but I know that brown is earth.
