- ► Originating in the mid 1980s, Emo as a music genre has evolved substantially. The 90s saw Emo gaining momentum, still remaining relatively underground, before finding its mainstream footing by the early to mid 2000s. In the 2000s, bands such as My Chemical Romance, Thursday and more began becoming the new faces of Emo. The sound changed quite a bit, taking a more polished and commercial rock approach. This shift has divided early fans of the genre. But there were a number of up and coming bands bringing their own unique sound to the table in the new millennium. Today, I'm discussing 10 of those bands.
This is 10 essential Emo albums of the 2000s.

I appreciate the deep cuts you have on this list. I’m definitely going to check out a lot of the albums you mentioned.
Plus I wanted to say I love the content you make and I’m shocked your channel isn’t bigger!
Bro just casually put me on a post-mineral band I’ve somehow never heard of
Love this list! Very well thought out. Awesome seeing the Moneen love!
I was definitely immersed in other games at this time… not all too far off from these.
I have a day of discovery coming up.
Your well-crafted descriptions and honest passion for music sets you above par to other music channels iMHO.
Thank you, appreciate it very much! If you end up listening to anything on the list definitely let me know what you think.
@@TheMusicNarrative You know I will!
thanks for all the deep cuts man, wouldnt have heard of these otherwise
Great video. I hope to see more videos from you.
Don't forget Copeland's Beneath Medicine Tree and Death Cab's magnum opus Transatlanticism!
We did The Radiator Hums off Cursive Domestica on my channel. Glad to see them getting featured here.
Can you cover At the Drive In one of my favorite bands of post hardcore
Are you a fan of the band Polvo?
I feel like you should make a guide on them as their music style totally suits your channel
Peace
I dig Polvo! Probably will do a video on them at some point.
What about Thrice???
Damn Imbroco is a real gem, great album, incredibly underrated. Thank you for your vids, very informative!
Good list. I wouldn't consider Imbroco worthy of this list because its a pretty forgettable record, but it's cool you added some lesser known stuff.
Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, Daisy and Science Fiction…Brande New went out on controversy but put out three of the greatest albums back to back to back
Jets to Brazil ?
the worst fashion sense, embodied perfectly by MCR, among the rock scenes haha
Imbrocco isnt bad by any means but The Gloria Record is just the better Post-Mineral band, there is just no competition.
