- It's no secret that Rivers Cuomo is a pretty awkward guy. This general awkwardness has always been on full display with his band Weezer. As Rivers has gotten older, it seems he's become more comfortable in his skin. But back in the 90s when Weezer first took off, this was definitely not the case. So today, we're gonna dive into some old school Rivers Cuomo interviews that are gloriously awkward and nerdy as can be.

Rivers here, from my view, is the embodiment of a beautiful piece of the 90s. A careless indifference to the unspoken social order. Actually, a rejection of it. A creature eternally bored by the act of keeping up appearances. The manifestation of an emptiness brought on by the vapid, controlling, grey capitalist landscape.

Sometimes I wonder if he has sensory issues, is maybe on the spectrum- or has narcissistic personality disorder and knows exactly what he’s doing.
