Yeah, this film sure is an emotional rollercoaster. It goes to show that Pixar still got it! That's why i'm so excited for "Elio" to finally be released next year....
This movie really is a PERFECT sequel, it perfectly continues on the ideas of the first one while adding interesting new concepts and themes that can be very relatable. Also congrats on over 10k man, you deserve it, your editing is great and the topics you discuss are very interesting, really glad I discovered your channel. We Are Enchanted!
I love when they really lean into more abstract and quirky stuff both with the theme and visuals like Soul and Inside Out. They always pull it off so well and find a way to make it work and look amazing, just wish they did more of it. It makes them interesting for adults and fun to look at for kids, seems like the perfect formula really
Watching the climax of this movie with anxiety and joy gave me an experience I have never had before, as someone who has had General Anxiety Disorder for years and struggled with anxiety attacks in the past: tears of empathy. I have had movies give me tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of wistfulness, etc. I have never had an experience before that has given me tears of empathy. I wanted nothing more than to give Riley a hug and say, "Hey, I know this deep dark pit seems bottomless and impossible. But I've been down here before. I know the way out."
I feel Inside Out 2 is one of the best Pixar Sequels in my opinion. For some reason despite how bad the 2020s are reality wise, animation movie wise we're getting the best animated movies like Puss In Boots The Last Wish, Across The Spiderverse and Inside Out 2. Out of all the Pixar material, I believe Inside Out should get a sequel. Riley to me felt like a plot device, the other emotions never get development, and we never see more of her mind as much. That's why I'm glad Inside Out 2 came out because we would get to see Riley growing up and dealing with issues everyone can relate to. And I enjoyed the new emotions. In my eyes, I'm glad Anxiety, Embarassment, Envy and Ennui weren't the bad guys who want to make Riley worse. They do care for her like any emotion, it's just that emotions can be complicated and the emotions must realize that Riley is herself and needs to find who she is. Anyways I feel Inside Out 2 proves we don't always have to have pure evil villains or villains. Yes I know it sounds weird but I feel perhaps any story can have good or bad emotions. Any story can accomplish it if done right execution wise. Which is why be glad we have pure evil villains like Belos, High Revolutionary, Skar King, Emperor Ceaser or Jack Horner. Or sympathetic ones like the Studio Ghibli Villains, Magneto, and of course the new Inside Out 2 emotions. Also thank you for analysing Inside Out 2 Enchanted. I feel I understand what the movie was trying to do just like how The Last Wish dealt with their antagonistic archetypes. I appreciate the sequel now and I hope to see more on Riley and her emotions.
You know it’s pretty crazy how these past few years we’ve had amazing animated sequels each yeah. Puss in Boots the Last Wish in 2022. Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse in 2023. Now Inside Out 2 in 2024. Animation is amazing and hopefully this increases the medium’s respect
I really hope Disney and Pixar take this film's performance the right way. Not just it being a sequel to make more sequels making it a billion dollars but the fact its good storytelling and great characters
Given how they made a bunch in the last few years and each one either struggled or failed, I'm pretty sure they're gonna at least TRY and take better notes on what made it good.
I’m happy Pixar is doing well with Inside Out 2, but I hope they can make more original movies and if you want to make a sequel for other franchises make it like Inside Out 2.
This movie was really heartfelt for me (as I'm in its target demographic), and I can't be more grateful for both it and your videos analyzing it. I just hope they don't take this movie's success the wrong way...

Congrats on the 13k subs man..imagine where you started from Thank you for everything and this final video of inside out 2 you should really try for a critique/analyzer for movies before it’s released ❤ thanks again
Also just to reiterate any story has different takes on antagonists and that's fine. The villains can be whatever they want to be; it depends on the story. Lets take two villains from series I'm familiar with as both target certain species out of bigotry and bias. For example X Men 97 has Bastion as the main antagonist for Season 1. He is a literal supremacist and believes by eliminating mutantkind he believes he is doing humanity a favor. He is a literal boogeyman from the past in the future and a reincarnation of a villain the X Men fought, Nimrod and Master Mold. (Sorry X Men lore is complicated for backstories) He is the previous villain technically but more of a incarnation that gained human traits and qualities. This makes him more terrifying because he is able to strategize and see more of his sly and prideful smugness. Throughout the series, Bastion eliminates mutants and Gambit one of the heroes sacrifices himself. As a result with a hero gone it makes him very threatening. Bastion is a delusional mastermind who believes that by eliminating mutants through Operation Zero Tolerance, humans will be saved. Though he is a hypocrite as he believes by also eliminating humans too he is saving humans from themselves. But his backstory was that he was forced by fate to become a hybrid of human and Sentinel. He never wanted to be a hybrid, and if his mom introduce him to Professor Xavier he could've been a X men and hero. You kind of get a slight pity, because he's listening to the voice aka his programming believing its his only purpose. Heck, near the end of the finale The X Men feel sorry for him. While he isn't redeemed in the end the protagonists the X men see him as a tragedy and try to save him, but he refuses as he perishes as a martyr. As a result, he is a cautionary tale on bigotry and certain people divided. In contrast Proximus Caesar from the latest movie sequel of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a darker take and more despicable than Bastion's tragedy. He is a violent and hypocritical conqueror who followed the late Caesar, so he took his title name and decided to be leader of the intelligent apes but unlike Caesar he is a ruthless monster. He claims to support Caesar's claims of peace but he's doing it for his own sadistic ego and if the real Caesar met him he would've despised the imposter. He also spreads propaganda claiming that Mae is going to restore humankind and dominate the apes again. In this series humans are almost wiped out and extinct, but some are still thriving and wish to co exist. But to Proximus, he believes by ravaging other ape colonies and humans too he is saving his people. But he doesn't care. For he wants to be the dominant apex predator so by being absolute evolution he will thrive. When he perishes, unlike Bastion's fate where we lament what could've been we are happy that he failed as Noa a good ape stops him from his tyranny. It's satisfying to see the imposter Caesar get his karma as he perishes leaving a broken kingdom needing to be rebuild. Proximus only cared about himself and we are happy the monster learned his place. So yes villains are different and we should appreciate that. That's why I hope we get to see both broken and pure evil because if we had too much broken villains it would be tiring to redeem and if we had too much pure evil villains some could be so forgettable and cringy at best.
I think the best showing of the difference between an antagonist and a villain is Death Note. Light is the villain, L is the antagonist. Misa could be considered both a villain and antagonist since she is doing the same things as Light but also often is a problem for Light.

Nice, very nice, way to go Pete Docter, and everyone else at Pixar studio, and I do believe this is what they were missing all along, a good tearjerker, well many also find the second, third, and fourth Toy Story movies good too, and Finding Dory and Incredibles 2, the only worst sequel was Cars 2, and Lightyear seems to be a bad spinoff, okay wow, what are the odds bad writing or bad directors were the only reasons why some movies aren't meant to exist, although everyone's a critic is also a common saying, as in, it's not supposed to be taken too literally, just like how some don't understand why The Good Dinosaur and Onward were known to be bombed (failures), or if Monster's University seems unnecessary for a sequel. Just wished Inside Out 2, along with Soul and Elemental, were released a long time ago.💙😢💚🤢💜😱❤️😡💛😃🧡😰🩵🥹💜🥱🩷😳
