The Heritage is a keeper, my 26L is in olive, perfect with the leather accents. I like it as it comes, without the molle, despite the fact that I use that feature on most of my other bags. I’ve also got a Trakke Bannoch (17L) in the same material, which is a great alternative when I don’t need the GR1 capacity. Great video quality, your approach and thorough reviews are excellent, I look forward to them.
@@JBOutside1 Great choice, I wanted one too but, knowing me, I’ll get a lot more use out of the Bannoch. It’s a very well thought-out bag. In fact, it’s my number one choice over my bullets lately but I’d love the Cobra version.
I think they’ve stopped offering the top pocket as an option. Too time consuming to install. Might be able to sell the slick since it’s rare and pick up a heritage.
@@JBOutside1 Good, honest content is always worth watching JB. I have the same pack and just rewaxed it. It'll gather some great scars and patina over time. I'll be sending her in for similar upgrades. Again, thanks for the content.
@@JBOutside1 I use Barbour wax. Heat the tin up in some warm water and sponge on. I then use a heat gun to soak it in, meaning there's no sticky feel to the finish. Really helps add that patina. Filson oil wax is also great JB. No need to heat it, just straight from the tin and blow with the heat gun or hair dryer. I have many Filson bags, jackets and Barbour jackets so i'm very used to the process. This might interest you. ua-cam.com/video/UpXrEBepwOA/v-deo.html
So I actually don’t mind them not putting webbing on the heritage. For some they don’t want the “tactical” look that webbing provides. It’s a great looking bag either and for me the handles and webbing just increase my personal appeal for the bag
Great Grey man bag not really tactical but doesn't make you stand out looking like your running a recon. If your a commuter this can be setup as a perfect get home bag when your military has road blocks setup.
You didn't mention which size your bag is. I assume 26L, is that correct? Debating between GR2 26L and the GR1 Heritage 26L. Great review. Love your work.
Depends on what you're having done most of the time. They don't puncture the more technical fabrics. As for Waxed Woodland, that material has a white backing that often shows when then modify so the don't do too much with that one either. Their CS is very good so you can always ask.
I'm thinking of picking up a heratige for myself during their next drop. After a couple years, how's the bag holding up? My one concern is durability. I would be using it for rucking, just 30 lbs and nothing else crazy, as well as a regular EDC and personal item bag on the plane. Wondering if you think the bag is durable enough for this kind of use. Thanks!
I don't personally ruck with my Heritage bags. But they're capable. I can't speak to the durability in that type of environment. But there's always SCARS. The laptop compartment will certainly hold a weigh plate. Otherwise this one has aged quite nicely.
I have a 21L Navy Heritage, and I plan on getting the molle shoulder straps, the only thing holding me back is they do not offer navy side handles, I considered getting the side handles in coyote brown but I'm worried it would not look right.
yeah, that’s a tough call. I’d skip the handles personally in that color plus the 21L is a little short for handles IMHO. they look good on a 26L though
$100 and 9 weeks. But they raised prices for 2022 and it would now cost $120. The 9 weeks is a little long but there was a holiday in there. Normally it's 4-6 weeks.
I was interested in getting a GR1 heritage to use as a travel/camera ruck. I'd need the molle treatment via SCARS so inquired about the cost... $375 to add molle to the front, sides, and straps, which would bring the total cost of the bag to $800. Not considering the heritage line anymore. GORUCK needs to come out with a full molle version.
I’ve been hovering over the buy button on these for about a year. I just hate the damn front pocket so much I can’t get over it. And I can never decide on the size. I need more than 21 and less than 26 which feels huge on my 5’10” 160lb frame. Love hate relationship with goruck bags.
the top stash pocket is very under rated, I wished every bag incorporated this!
I agree!!

@@toodamnskippy6220 nice. I’m kind of committed to this GORUCK path currently but I foresee more Trakke in my future 🔮

Thank you I just saw the original video and was going to ask for more and you delivered. Thanks heaps mine is in the mail.

Considering sending my slick into scars to get the EDC top pocket and the morale patch

Nice mods JB, I love my 26L Dark Oak! Going to start hanging the rucks on my wall for acoustics..
Haha! It works!
That’s sweet. I hate how they skip the shoulder strap webbing on slicks. Just why.

👍🏻👊🏻
Does SCARS give the option of leather side handles? That would look great!
I agree. Currently that’s not an option.
I sent in my request 🤞🏻 that coyote matches the Dark Oak straps so that I can copy all of your ideas!
Nice!
Do you have a pack with cinch straps added ? Great video thanks
I haven't had them added by Scars. I do have two rucks that came with them though and they work great!
I Just subscribed , love the bag reviews
Thanks Nik!

I thought they didn't do mods on "*Woodland waxed canvas*, Robic Nylon, Dyneema, XPAC, Ultra 400(Kaiden 3.0)" ?

Could you do a load out for this one when you are on typical rucks?
Absolutely. Although I use my Rucker for rucking, I need to do some loadouts with my Heritages. Anything specific?

I agree. The GR1 conversion is not very practical but in their defense it’s an intensive process.
Does someone know the color of this bag? Seems lighter than Dark Oak!

This is the field tan or brown?

The are not made in US! The are made in Vietnam.
False. Heritage editions are made in the USA. GORUCK produces gear in both USA and Vietnam. Made is USA is listed clearly on items made in the USA.
