Such a fantastic review! We have the 3k and the 5k, and looked into the new one! We found the 3k to be not strong enough, and the 5k is great, although it tends to give out when in cold weather. I think the 3k Pro will be a hit!

We had a love-hate relationship with the Gorillapod sometimes it's hard to put down and take a lot of time to adjust the legs. It is very versatile though, we wish the 3k pro is cheaper. Solid review Raplh!

We got disappointed with the 1k (or maybe another one, forgot the model name) and it got very weak, loosing strenght on the legs (and another issue like salt and dust...)
Honestly, I think 150$ for that is pretty expensive. Ok, it's a new product, it's metal new design, etc. But to me feels little like the Apple new monitor stand (if you know what I mean). I think I'll say bye to Joby and find a cheaper alternative that does the same job.

We had the 3k and that hard movement when adjusting it made me feel like I was breaking it
Maybe it will better not to use this wide angle focal distance to make the review because the perspective affects real size of the products. Just an observation.

That's awesome they sent you one. I thought about getting one of these someday. They are very tough and durable. Can hold more weight for sure then a Walmart offbrand. Great product review.

We'll have to look into this one. The legs of our 3K broke after a little while. Really like that it's all metal. Are there similar products out there that are worth it?
I really dig these accessory videos. I'm not pro at cameras, but the accessories and gadgets are sometimes so extra, but I JUST NEED THEM ALL! I always wanted the 3k, but these things are pretty pricey :( That being said, the practicality and the options these things provide are simply incredible!

Awesome video, great information and I think the 3k pro is the best way to go.
It's doubtful whether I will ever buy another Gorillapod. I bought a small one whose balls started to get slack fter a couple of years. I then bought a bigger, 'tougher' looking one. Same thing. I checked the little black rings at the openng of each socket: the slack balls always had a tiny split in the ring. As I have nothing to lose I'm going to try to ham it up by pulling each out of its socket, smearing some hot glue around the inner edge of the rings and banging the balls back in quick. Then probably into the bin for the two of them.

My 3K gorilla pod had trouble after three months. One leg repeatedly detaches at the same point and the clip that attaches the plate to attach to the camera broke at the switch.

Managed to get the 5k video pro for £80. I had a ball head on my monopod so swapped them around.

Foolish recommendation to go for the 3k pro. Doesn't make sense. Either go with the 3K kit or the 5K pro. It isn't hard.
"Some of the balls feel a little looser" hahahah sorry. Someone had to quote you lol. This new 3K would be something I would love to have for my videos. You will laugh at the one I am using right now. I got this...10 dollar one from Amazon and... yeah... not very good lol. At $150 vs $180 for 5K tho I would probably go with the 5K, especially since I don't travel much anyway.

I think I'm going with the 3K Pro, looks like a slimmer and sturdy design that hopefully will last longer than the normal Gorillapods. I still have one of the grey/black ones and it's falling appart. Funny to find you here ;)
I would just get the ball head and the mount just for the arca Swiss plate
