Yes sir, this can easily be done. My first system wasn't in a car it was in my home. Rocked a BT JVC Deck, Boss Amps, a Orion loaded 12s enclosure and 2 3 way Aiwa shelf speakers. Powered by a AC to DC Pyramid Power Supply converter.

Nice job for 17 years old! I love seeing the younger guys keeping the faith. I have a IB subwoofer consisting of four Mach 5 IXL-18s powered by a 2500 watt pro amp. It's flat to 10 Hz and extends to 5 Hz. Perfect for movies!

Ray, I’m 45 and in the exact same boat!! I just installed a subwoofer on the radio in my RV! Working on outfitting a tiny trailer with audio, power inverter, lithium battery, and solar panel to keep it all charged! I love this hobby!!!!!
I have used car audio subs in my home setup for years, you can truly put together a killer system if you're willing to build a box. Great job, really enjoyed seeing your system!!
I have a single car audio 12 and amp hooked up to my gaming tv and it shakes all the knick knacks off the walls and shelves 2 rooms away. I cant imagine how much this rattles his place! Cool build man! Thanks for showing off Big D
I hooked up a small car audio sub amp for the home theater not long ago using a server power supply, and the sub wouldn't stop humming the 60Hz tone. After hours of researching online, I finally found a way to stop the hum by grounding the receiver's metal casing to the negative terminal of the sub amp using a wire from an old disassembled christmas light.
BigD glad to see the viewer submission videos again I was worried you gave it up!! This kid is cool I have watched a couple of his videos in the past. There's still some hope for the younger genn :)
when i was a wee lad, i used to run nothing _but_ car audio in my personal stereo setup. a decent 12v power supply, and you can run a decent rig that sounds pretty good. an awesome power supply and you can demolish your house, almost.
Back in 1998 I built a coffee table with 2 down firing Kicker Competition 15” subs! It sounded great with music and would rattle the walls with movies. It was built so solid that drinks would not vibrate, but it did take 4 people to move it!!!
KICKER uses QSC amps to power their wall of boom inside their museum. That works great! Still fun to see car audio amp being used, although doesn't make sense...
Nice production quality and the final setup looked really good and clean. I like it. Might have to do something similar in my house very soon. Will subscribe. Thanks yall. 😎👍👍
I did a prettt mean ghetto blaster that gets real low. Four 6.5 kicker coaxials, a $16 dual head unit from Walmart, an old Audiobahn AW-1006 10 inch sub powered by an old kicker 400.1 amp. A 600watt PC power supply I picked up from Best Buy powers it all. Built it out of 5/8 MDF. Its loud and gets real low. that sub has some ridiculous excursion (flex) too. People are blown away at how far that thing flexes. Sounds pretty dang good too. The head unit, 6.5 inch coax speakers and the PC power supply to ensure the subwoofer doesn't cause any damage. The Amp is mounted on the back. Its carpeted in grey speaker box carpet.
I did this back in 2006 with a MTX 81000D and a 12" custom bandpass with a sony xplod. I had to buy a couple batteries and had a battery charger cranking. Watching movies and feeling car bass just shattering things like drywall. I never seen a house surround sound system knock pieces of plaster joints in the drywall down while watching a movie. I had to put a brick ontop of the sub to keep it walking all over the tile floor. I was using car speakers and car amplifiers wired into old school battery chargers as a kid. I had a alpine cassette deck and a sub amp with a car sub in my bedroom as a kid. My parents always said I was gonna burn down the house with all the wiring but you have to be careful and have at least 2 brain cells dedicated to wires an such.
I've been using Car Audio subs in my living room set up ever since I saw BigD's amp test on the Behringer Amps. 2X 2000W RMS outputs on the Inuke 6000 @ 4 ohms ea. I had an electrician install a dedicated 20-amp circuit for it and it's been working great! I've blown 4 subs already because I've been using 500-600W subs but they lasted for years. I just bought 4 subs rated at 1250W RMS each on Black Friday, can't wait!
I have a RF 300 mono, RF 150/2, and a Sony headunit on a PC power supply. They hang from a wooden frame (wood scraps) and total package is 14" x 16" x 9". Usually have a couple RF door speakers and a P2 on it but I use it to test stuff all the time.
All i have to say is “ORION!!!!!” Damn this is a trip down memory lane, too bad the original shit is dead. Good job brotha, keep the memories alive man. The 90’s rock!!!
Really cool setup, I'm planning to do something similar, just not so big and powerful as this. Btw, last year I've tried out the opposite: I made a sub of 2 home audio bass speakers, and put it in my car. The speakers were ancient 6 inch speakers (not 6.5) from '80s, 4 Ohms / 15 WRMS each. My head unit (Pioneer) have an option for the rear speaker outputs: I call it "subwoofer mode" - it have adjustable LPF with adjustable gain level and slope, and also for front speaker outputs it have similarly adjustable HPF (details in the video's description on my channel) - basically by turning on this mode, the head unit switches itself from regular 4 channel mode to 2.1 mode, because the rear speaker outputs bridges themselves, so they converts themselves to 1 channel with dualled +/- wires (stable to 2 Ohms), and just bass signals are coming from this bridged output. So, rear speakers I wired in series with the front ones - this series wired speaker pairs I wired to the head unit's front speaker outputs, and the sub I made I wired to the head unit's rear speaker outputs - yes, without additional amp. I made a challenge for some people to guess what sub I have, and they didn't found out nowhere near to date what it is - usually they saying that this is a basic 10 inch on approx. 150 WRMS in a proper lower tuned box 😅 ...imagine reactions when I showed them that this is 2 pcs of 40+ yrs old home bass speakers, 30 WRMS total without an additional amp 😁
I once used the closet under my stairs as an enclosure for four Rockford Series 1 18’s walled. My neighbors were not happy on movie night, lol. I’m sure his feel the same way, lol
Iv comment on your video before kind of funny because you were one of the few that can understand the right power supply for car audio in home. Did think you would end up here. Big shout out to big d.👍✌️👌💯🎶🎵🥂
Awesome setup! I used to have something similar using a pair of Focal K2 Power 6-1/2” components and 4 12” TC Sounds Epics all powered by a Yamaha receiver, but the subs were powered with a Crown pro amp. I’d think the 2 15” HCCAs would out perform the 4 10s looking at Sd and excursion capabilities. I’m now running a set of 8” 3 way Focal Utopias as the mains and 4 18” Dayton Ultimax for movies and swap to 4 15” JBL SUB1500 drivers in which I cloned 4 of the Synthesis 1500 Array subs. Amazing!
Pretty awesome! My first car audio in-home setup was back in 1995 using a 53 ampere Nippon America power supply to drive a 400 watt Boss amplifier. Mind you it was the good zed made Boss amplifier. Not the cheap ones.
No wayyy it took me a second to realize who he was but its because of blazedlegend that i went ahead and bought a powermaxx converter to properly power my amp indoors!

Setup is good shake doors and windows but i want more lol. 14 yrs old rn not old enough for half liscence
Back around 99ish we did 3 jl 12w6s in a ported downfire box on a 2nd gen 225and a 2nd 225 on boxes full of Sony 6x9 and 6.5 running off a cap and 50amp power supply.. It shook ceiling tiles loose
I just use Peavey IPR1600 for my amps as they don't need 12 volt conversion supplies. Subs are Eminence Kappalite 3012LF. Pretty economical on power, but the 15s are more efficient, but also need double the box size. My amps are now SMSL SA98E as it still gets loud enough my landlord asks me to turn the subs down, and the amps don't have fan noise or glow blue when I'm watching a film. I might hook the peavey up for a party in a hall.
Hey I did it back in highschool lol brings back a good memory and now I'm thinking about to using it in my shop nowso I can have sound than portable bt speakers they die after awhile
This is how my childhood neighbor got into this. We would see who could come up with the best system. Then I turned 16 and rattled the crap out of his house. Well along with most of the neighbors houses.
Hah, I did the same thing at age 14 (but not nearly as nice) back in the early 90's. No fancy power supply, just a car battery and a charger. Swap meet / flea market style.
Nice setup. For anyone looking to run car amplifiers in a house for cheap get a Xbox One power supply. Rated at 12.5v 17.5a decent enough to power 200wrms or so. I use one in my garage to power an old 4 channel and CD player from my old car. Decent setup for cheap.
My first setup was a pioneer head unit match to a pioneer amplifier to JL audios 10s and I have my amp hardwired into my light switch in my bedroom that's how I powered my system ghetto rig but it worked
This is pretty cool and interesting. Would make a good vid to see. How many are out there watching you and their collection. Always do good vids D. PEACE ands keep'em slammin
Very impressive video very impressive young man there I can't wait to hear him when he gets in the car or truck or whatever he gets to drive. I love home theater myself car audio bass head home theater Bass Head.
Nice setup! 😀👍 Car audio components for the living room isn't a bad idea at all, since you can easily get a lot of power for cheap! The only downside really is that you need to find a capable power supply.
@@mashedpotatoes5323 I'm thinking server (or miner) PSU too, but those are only 12 V. Still should work fine, but getting the voltage up to 14-15 V would be preferable.
Car audio decks have awesome sound. Pre-outs and usually an eq or lf/hf cuts., bluetooth , mp3. ,DAC etc. I used a sony xplod 45wx4. from like 2008 to bi-wire stereo speakers . It sounded ok considering the head unit is considered worthless. I found a pin out for sony online I soldered in a computer power supply to run head unit but 12v is a better idea for sure.
I've used car audio subs with pro audio amplifiers in sub enclosures in the 90s and early 2k. Some blew the clubs and underground raves away. Some didn't. As for amplifiers. More or less the same thing in home or pro audio. Just lacking power supply's. The high end car audio speakers can be extremely audiophile quality.
Sweet setup! have you tried any other speaker positions than having the woofers firing out into the middle of the room? They defiantly look impressive but you can probaly get more from them if you loads them off the floor, a wall or have them firing towards a corner of your room. I've built a number of demo rooms for car stereo shops and we have never been able to get the most from a sub pointed at the listener. Also takes a lot less power with the woofer firing off another surface. Anyway keep up the great work
well ive never herd of being a bass head but I've gotten away way from it for a long time but ive always miss having bass in my car i think i may be a bass head
Been thinkin of doing this for Years with my 2 DD 9510’s since they are sadly not being used right now. I have a 18inch TC-Sounds 5200 Titanium Cone that I was going to turn into a HT Sub too (along with a box design pwk did for me.)
Thats cool 👌 Ive got PA in the house but i feel that this would be kinda cool for the living room. I already know my misses wont be down with it 😂😂 Probably a no go but im happy with the PA. lol
Very cool. Love to see someone who’s passionate about audio reproduction and bass! One question tho. Why did you tune the sub enclosure to 38Hz? That’s really high for home use. If you tuned the enclosure to 25Hz you’d get so much more low frequency output. And the frequency output curve would be much flatter. In other words, the whole system will sound much better! As it is, those four HCCAs are hardly being pushed and have so much capability in reserve. Even tho the Fs is 42ishHz, they can play much lower without risking damage.
All us in the ‘hood were putting home speakers in the trunks back in the 80s-90s. Ain’t nobody gonna put in nice stuff. Some Fisher 15” 3-ways could really thump on a pyramid amp lol.
Yea, it’s tuned a lil high for my liking and it’s not giving much output below 30hz. My single 15” drops to 10hz. But to each their own I guess, still an awesome and loud setup. 👍🏻
I wanted to do this kids of thing before he was born lol. I didn't didn't know how to transform the power safely. I popped a breaker trying to power the amp.
Sick setup! I'm not trying to be negative, but that amp is not going last having that little bit of a power supply. Those amplifiers are typically hooked up to multiple deep cycle batteries or lithium. With at least 1/0 to each terminal. It's a really tight setup, but it might just be too much amp.
I have two power supply 30 amp and I connect it in pararrel and it 60 amp and my car amplifier is 50 amp will it turn off when I increase the volume or when the bass hit hard can I add a capacitor just like you did will that will make a effect
Because it's a waste tbh. The amount spent on the amp and subs alone could get you a legit setup home theater setup. This setup is good for music, nothing else.

Setup is good shake doors and windows but i want more lol. 14 yrs old rn not old enough for half liscence
Hahah been there done that, thank you ✊❤️
Back around 99ish we did 3 jl 12w6s in a ported downfire box on a 2nd gen 225and a 2nd 225 on boxes full of Sony 6x9 and 6.5 running off a cap and 50amp power supply..
Another great Sunday video!!!
Yessir! ✊❤️
Very clean set up, i really like it. I cant wait to get my B&W system hooked up and see how it sounds
Appreciate it! ✊❤️
The electric bill has to be crazy high. This setup extracts an extreme amount of power. Lol. I love it.
This is the setup I was looking for
Hey I did it back in highschool lol brings back a good memory and now I'm thinking about to using it in my shop nowso I can have sound than portable bt speakers they die after awhile
Bangin system no doubt
Thank you! ✊❤️
That’s freaking awesome thanks for sharing your build 😍
Love it ive been looking to upgrade my home theater for a long while now will definitely be checking this guy out like rn
This is how my childhood neighbor got into this. We would see who could come up with the best system. Then I turned 16 and rattled the crap out of his house. Well along with most of the neighbors houses.
Good Ole George
Hahaha much love broski ✊❤️
@@blazedlegend you too man!!!!❤
Hah, I did the same thing at age 14 (but not nearly as nice) back in the early 90's.
Thanks! ✊❤️
Now that's what I'm talking about.
Yessir! ✊❤️
Hey that custom box that was sticker bombed looks Awesome !
But yeah i can relate ! I've many several different systems ,but mostly in my car tho
Very impressive video very impressive young man there I can't wait to hear him when he gets in the car or truck or whatever he gets to drive. I love home theater myself car audio bass head home theater Bass Head.
Hahah thank you ✊❤️
✌️🤜
You know his neighbors hating. 🔊🔊🔊✌️
Nice setup! 😀👍 Car audio components for the living room isn't a bad idea at all, since you can easily get a lot of power for cheap!
The only downside really is that you need to find a capable power supply.
Thank you! ✊❤️
Using server computer power supplies would be a pretty decent cheap power supply.
@@mashedpotatoes5323 I'm thinking server (or miner) PSU too, but those are only 12 V.
Still should work fine, but getting the voltage up to 14-15 V would be preferable.
@@mashedpotatoes5323 Server power supplies work pretty well but you need to modify them first. Normal pc psus are a joke
@@volvo245glt most server power supplies have pots in them that can adjust the voltage to be around 14 volts.
LOVE the setup bro!!! .keep it up
Thank you thank you ✊❤️
Amazing system😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you! ✊❤️
That was cool 👌 first thing i thought, them orions in that q bomb, and then he said it exactly “then i realized that box was way too small”
LOL, the box looked big on picture till I received it 😆😆
Yup,and them hcca’s are freakin monsters
Sooooooo cool. Respect fella 👊🏼
Very nice super clean love it
Thank you! ✊❤️
the more young men that get in the car audio the brighter the future is going to be
Yes indeed ✊❤️
Once a basshead, always a basshead ;)
crazy all the surround sound speakers looks bad ass bro
thanks for watching, but momma forgot to remind you if you don't have anything nice to say....
It sounds really clean
Thank you! ✊❤️
His older setup, of 215's in that huge colorful box was pretty awesome.
I wonder how that would go against his current setup of 4x10s?
you need those orion 15 inch HCCA's on that kicker 2500 watt amp. in that big ass 6 cu ft box you showed earlier.
Yup I did the same here with a jp23 amplifier and it’s amazing bass sound
👌😬👍
@@wal let me tell what it gets loud really loud I love it doe
That’s sweet dude so sweet!
Been thinkin of doing this for Years with my 2 DD 9510’s since they are sadly not being used right now. I have a 18inch TC-Sounds 5200 Titanium Cone that I was going to turn into a HT Sub too (along with a box design pwk did for me.)
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thats cool 👌
Ive got PA in the house but i feel that this would be kinda cool for the living room. I already know my misses wont be down with it 😂😂
Probably a no go but im happy with the PA. lol
Thats very cool subwoofer is the most importante thing
Tune it to 0hz
This is reverse of what my father built in the early 1970's when there was pretty much no car audio available.
All us in the ‘hood were putting home speakers in the trunks back in the 80s-90s. Ain’t nobody gonna put in nice stuff. Some Fisher 15” 3-ways could really thump on a pyramid amp lol.
@@envisionelectronics haha bringing back memories
I actually seen this guys videos before I remember he setup with sticker bombed box lol
Hehe ✊❤️
If you ran a digital bass epicenter wow!!! you'll go from light chocolate to dark rich chocolate😊
Sweet set up man
👌😬👍
Thank you! ✊❤️
damn that's pretty high tune for 4 10" , my single 15" is tuned to 21.9 hz 6 cubic feet net box
Yea, it’s tuned a lil high for my liking and it’s not giving much output below 30hz. My single 15” drops to 10hz. But to each their own I guess, still an awesome and loud setup. 👍🏻

Can’t stop doing something I love.
Time flies!
I wanted to do this kids of thing before he was born lol. I didn't didn't know how to transform the power safely. I popped a breaker trying to power the amp.
Amp. Sound set up is wrong. Tweets up front woofers in the back
Clean setup
Thanks ✊❤️
Nice I seen his very nice setup and WOW he has lots of views on his Bass I Love You vid!
Wow that is awesome
Thank you! ✊❤️
Would love a dyno and review of the Crescendo S1v2
Very impressed.. Kudos!
I always wondered why more people don’t do this.
Because it's a waste tbh. The amount spent on the amp and subs alone could get you a legit setup home theater setup. This setup is good for music, nothing else.
It’s not about what people want to do, it’s about what you want. George likes his setup and that’s what’s important
@@kriptic22 But what if you already had that stuff laying around?
At least now I know I'm not the only one To do this.
