"Luke will not give up on you. Just as Padme never did. Just as I will not." - Beautiful words. I am sure it hit Vader hard. Enough for him to possibly be tearig a little behind that mask.
What makes Vader such a compelling character, is the fact he's simply a broken man chained by his own guilt, regret and failures. He's soo hollow when we first meet him but when he rediscovers "hope" in the form of his children he eventually has something to believe in besides the lies of his captor. It's soo relatable!
I agree. He is such a critically acclaimed character because he is a reflection of human kind. We all have dreams, desires and plans when we are younger which don’t always work out. We become hollow, perfunctory and in essence weaker but in a way which ensures our survival. Our children reinvigorate us, show us the true meaning of love and sacrifice and ultimately they are our saviours. We love Vader because Vader is us.
Once again, Darth Vader is confronted with the first Jedi he ever met, the first man to ever believe in his dreams, and possibly his first father-figure. It kind of feels like Qui-Gon is able to speak to Vader because his guilt and genuine desire to be Luke's father is letting Anakin Skywalker seep out and unconsciously willing to hear the truth, and Qui-gon, ever the nurturing teacher, is there to give his support.
4 minutes & 40 seconds that binds Episodes 5 & 6 now even stronger together! And, once again, the AI is just getting better & better! Now it was Qui-Gon's turn to look just like his Liam Neeson-self far more photo realistically.
The front shot of Vadar kneeling to Palaptine is great. Vadars flashbacks are emotional and the ship background is awesome. Qui Gon is done perfectly in this.. Hands down one of your best. 👏
Even after Anakin fell to the dark side and becoming Darth Vader, Qui-Gon still cares deeply about him. Despite the armour, he still sees the small boy he meet in Tatooine. He would’ve been a great father figure to Anakin. 😔
This video truly shows if Qui-Gon never would have died. Anakin would have never turned to the dark side cuz the only one besides padme that could get through to Anakin was Qui-Gon
Absolutely 100% The Jedi got way too comfortable with believing they were untouchable and that was their downfall. If you remember what Yoda said to Obi-Wan " Qui-Gon's defiance I sense in you" shows you that Qui-Gon wasn't like the other Jedi masters. He says "I will do what I must" So it seems Qui-Gon often went against the council. He didn't really want to be on the Jedi council because he never wanted to be the type of Jedi that thinks that you have strength in numbers and no one can rival you. He would have kept Anakin in line and Anaken would have spoken about his frustrations and Qui-Gon would have understood that Anakin wasn't trained from birth so of course he's going to have relationships with people. When Qui-Gon died it was the end for the Jedi because their arrogance turned into ignorance. They knew there was something wrong with the force they knew there was a new sith and yet they never really did anything about it not anything significant because they believed that they couldn't be beaten and that is why they lost.
Qui-Gon only lived a matter of days after he found Anakin, and he was never Anakin's teacher. You say that Qui-Gon could get through to Anakin, and yet you seem to forget or fail to realize that Qui-Gon didn't get through to him when he slaughtered the sand ppl in AOTC. He even told Padme that he enjoyed it. It's laughable really when i see ppl acting like Anakin would've never turned to the Dark Side if Qui-Gon didn't get killed.
Qui was dead many years before Anakin slaughtered the Sand people. There is possibility that Anakin would not have turned to the Dark side if Qui Gon was still alive. Maybe I am wrong but it could of been a possibility 🤔
Qui-Gon is never going to give up on Anakin and it will always remain that way. He saw the potential in him, and he sees the strength in Luke connected to Anakin. Love the fact that Anakin is fighting even in Vader and that is why Qui-Gon is here. This is truly what George was going after, and you are following his path. Amazing stories, keep them coming.
I love how Qui Gon is just this powerful ghost who drops in on Vader without permission every other week when he’s trying to relax to piss him off and he can’t do shit about it
I was one of the ones that had the privilege of standing in line for theaters first Star wars ever made in the 70s and I just want to say I'm very impressed with this I think it's really good❤❤
Qui-Gon on The Clone Wars: “Anakin You will face your Demons” now Anakin is facing his Darkside just as Yoda fought his dark side on episode “Voices” Qui Gon Jin is the True Jedi that Anakin Skywalker needed not as a master but as a father figure. Great Video man.
That's it! I'm officially pretending this is a real deleted scene at the end of "Empire" and that Vader was thinking about it the entire time thereafter and it influenced this decision to kill Palpatine and save Luke. It's too f'n perfect!
Very well-done. In a sense, I guess one could say that the person who freed Anakin from slavery is attempting to make him see the form of servitude he now finds himself in, and that Anakin's fear of losing those close to him is still present, tethered to the fear of being alone on a path forged by his own choices.
I can hear Qui-Gon saying, "I was able to break the external chains of your physical slavery, I cannot break the ones that bind your mind and heart. Only you can do that. I know you will do it one day, and I will be there to celebrate with you. Until then, I will always be with you, standing beside you without judgement."
This UA-camr puts 12 years of a multi- billion dollar conglomerate failures TO SHAME. This is peak writing. This is proper respect of a franchise, in understanding its " DNA", its themes, subtleties and nuances. Every character is as they should be, it just feels right. This is the type of material that can reconcile a fanbase......."and bring an end to this destructive conflict"😂( I couldn't help myself). All of these shorts are like potato chips man, you can't just stop at one.
And that’s why he was able to feel the good in Anakin and reach out to him. Padme would’ve done the same because she knew that Anakin was a good guy at heart.
@jmwilliamsart I also feel Shmi is very strong in Anakins' memory. She can't reach out to him through the Force maybe, but she still reaches out to him
Wow. This is amazing content. Qui Gon gently chiding him for cutting off Lukes hand carries more paternal weight and gravitas than if he had beaten him in a duel. 😊
Great gap fill in! I always wondered what went through Vader's mind after that first fight with Luke. It was obvious he had done a lot of thinking and was torn in Return of the Jedi.
This is truly a touching moment. i cant help but wonder what would have happened differently if Qui-Gon had not died. This moment and also the moment where Vader speaks with Revan are very powerful.
These stories are so compelling and true to the heart and spirit of George Lucas's dream. Each time I watch one I feel the excitement and magic the 4 year old me felt upon watching Star Wars A New Hope in the theater.
This has been touched on before, but I think the real reason that Anakin refuses to let Vader go is that his pain is so real, so palpable that he WANTS to punish himself. He knows he screwed up, that in choosing to follow Sidious he allowed all the good in his life to be taken from him. That it was his jealousy that ultimately killed Padme, and he hates himself for it. He is making himself suffer until death to atone for it. And that williness to self punish comes from love. And it is that love that kept Anakin alive within him. He was in too much pain to see it.
Maybe using his own hatred to bury his own pain its the only thing that preserved him to lose sanity. The sense of guilt and the loss were too much for him...Luke offered him a chance to find a new hope
That’s beautiful. And aligns with the philosophy of the Sith very well. It’s curious to see Luke as an antithesis to that in light of that desire to self-punish- in turn using his pain to fuel his hatred and strengthen his connection to the dark side. But his desire for Luke to join him runs counter to that philosophy because that can only happen by him letting go of that self-justified punishing aspect of his character. Luke represents his need to die to that self-defeating nature because what Luke offers is forgiveness and a clear path forward with hope and with that hope, a renewed life, rather than one stuck living in a cycle of pain. He’s just lived that way for so long by the time he’s offered that in Return of the Jedi it takes a while for him to actually believe it.
Theres something in that masks design that allows you to see Vaders emotions it’s brilliant. Even though it’s a blank stare you can see he is very conflicted.
I think its safe to say that many of the "AI made Star Wars moments" are unofficially canon to many people. It speaks volume to Skywalker Stories' skill in dialogue writing.
They also take stories and dialogue from the many different media in the expanded universe - a wealth of great content Disney simply discarded in their vain attempt to create their own 'better' stories. These videos provide a glimpse at what could’ve been. Disney could’ve been sitting atop a 5-7+ billion dollar franchise now, it was all there for them on a silver platter, but their arrogance and vanity blinded them and now it’s worthless
I don't know who you are, but you know Star Wars my friend. People like you should certainly inherit the Lucasfilm Empire. This hit me right in the feels. May the Force be with you.
Now, we need a story of Anakin meeting Qui-Gon again after his death. Anakin feels he doesn't deserve to be one with the Force after everything he's done and how everyone, rightfully, hates him for the atrocities he's committed and feels that the Jedi, especially Windu, were right about him and shouldn't have been trained. It would be up to Qui-Gon to change his mind and fully understand it all.
4:28 For some reason I have a feeling he's crying, with his timid movements and staring like that. It'd make sense. The closest one to a father figure coming up to tell him that he still has a chance to not only save his son, but save himself. He brings up Luke, Padme and Shmi all at once. It's one of the most powerful scenes I've looked at when it comes to your vids and it tells you so much just by his subtle movements. If there was a special edition of SW that included some changes, this would be a welcome one.
Amazing story bridge. Did the Emperor not know that Varder was being visited by various force ghost (Obi Wan/Qui-Gon etc)? May the Force be with you Always.
The force ghosts were always beyond the reach of Sidious. He was never as powerful as he proclaimed himself to be. Heck, Yoda was alive on Dagobah and Sidious either was unaware of it or didn't care.
This is a very revealing video, it’s always nice to see Qui Gon and Anakin (Vader) interact. I just hope that they will make a video showing Anakin reunited with Qui Gon in the force after Return of the Jedi, I wonder what they would say to each other after Anakin turned away from the dark side.
Destiny is never chosen. This line landed with me. As a kid in the first three cinematically released films, IV, V, VI, the term destiny was used by Vader so many times it felt like it was set in stone. Later, as a 30 something, watching the Prequels, it was tough patching them back to the earlier 70s and 80s films. I found myself taking to Yt to find videos with flashback sequences that put me a bit closer, but it was difficult. Seeing Kenobi later would aid in actually seeing Anakin inside the mask and suit. The offshoot stories like this and Ashoka helped fill in the seems slightly. I still, no matter how hard I try, can’t envision Anakin in there. Without an actual scene with his helmet removed and Christianson’s face on that tattered head, I won’t be able to fully embrace Anakin inside the suit. Vader was such an archetype back then, and the dingy way everything looked added huge amounts to the realism. To see Lucas show a pristine veneer on every surface tarnished the fact that things just get dirty. A speck of dust on the carpet in a seen or scuffs on boots, those will make it for me. No, destiny is never chosen, only the path to get there.
I love the idea of vader being constantly haunted by these jedi ghosts... and i kinda feel like his primary response would be annoyance. "PISS OFF GHOST!" - Korg
Qui Gon was dealing with a slave owner. Watto was already trying to cheat Qui Gon in order to keep Anakin a slave. Therefore, Qui Gon already knew Watto wasn't going to play fair. He was under no obligation to be fair with a slave owner.
@@dereklopez9060 Watto didn't try to cheat Qui-Gon, and there is nothing that even remotely implies that he would've tried to do so. Qui-Gon straight up cheated to win the wager. Accept it.
I rarely comment on videos too much drama. But who ever made this video truly understands Star Wars and universal themes that stand the test of time. That line " Destiny not chosen Anakin, it is forged by the choices you make & there is still time. Luke will not give up on you just Padme never did... just as I will not ", is just... agh damn good
3:18 "Because you believe in the Emperor's truth? Or because you're afraid? Afraid of what it would mean if he didn't." BRO! The writing in these videos is so good! 🙌

This is exactly how the disney sequels should have been respect to whoever made this, this is the way, and may rhe force be with you.
This channel is canon to me.
"Luke will not give up on you."
A True Jedi
Palpatine spent some time at the dentist, look at those nearly perfect teeth.
Honestly a visit from him before Return of the Jedi would make a lot of sense.
"i remember the little boy who said he wanted to visit all the star systems, just as you have"
This is..the pure extract! I never anticipated that I would get so caught within the conversation. Very well done sir!
@4:05 Great motivation speech by Qui-Gon 🤙🏽
Crazy how humans fall in love with fictional characters but hate their fellow man that is real lol
I love the idea of vader being constantly haunted by these jedi ghosts... and i kinda feel like his primary response would be annoyance. "PISS OFF GHOST!" - Korg
I LOVE the dramatic zoom-ins on Qui-Gon 😂.
Giving me Kung-Fury vibes in the best of ways 😂.
Been a while since ive seen one of your videos and wow what a step up in quality. Excellent work
Qui-Gon: Nothing you have done would be possible if I hadn’t cheated in gambling your freedom that one time lol
Qui Gon was dealing with a slave owner. Watto was already trying to cheat Qui Gon in order to keep Anakin a slave. Therefore, Qui Gon already knew Watto wasn't going to play fair. He was under no obligation to be fair with a slave owner.
@@dereklopez9060100% correct, but you’re the kinda guy to take any joke and turn it into a lecture
@@dereklopez9060 Watto didn't try to cheat Qui-Gon, and there is nothing that even remotely implies that he would've tried to do so. Qui-Gon straight up cheated to win the wager. Accept it.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 Maybe you should look closely at the chance cube, and you'll find out yourself.
@@dinocraftman0096 I actually didn't know it was a joke. My mistake.
Palpatine; Do NOT try my patience! 1:33
I love this video!! Quigon is my all time favorite!! This is so well done!!
Some of the best on UA-cam!!Thanks!!
Im hooked!!!!!!!Star Wars heroin lol!!Youre welcome and damn well deserved!!!!!
I love these so much... thank you
Absolutely amazing work. Please keep making these, these small stories fit extremely well into what Star Wars really is.
I rarely comment on videos too much drama. But who ever made this video truly understands Star Wars and universal themes that stand the test of time. You get it and have not subsumed to the current nonsense of our age. You are blessed with a writing talent. I hope you can go forward and do good with your talent.
Man. I really love this scene. To watch my favourite character Qui Gon Jinn tried to guide Anakin is quite cool also comforting. Very very perfect!
I enjoyed this more than virtually all Disney has put out apart from rogue One and Mando season 1 and 2.
Hey Skywalker Stories, this is A++ content! STAR WARS fan here and that felt so good to watch. Those characters saying the things they do hit hard!
Subscribed ✅ (discovered video from home tab) 😊
This is incredible! The voice, the lip syncing, the realism. It’s almost as good as the films!
This is actually very brilliantly done. People all over had seen this and love star wars before things got bad. Keep it up your going places.
That line " Destiny not chosen Anakin, it is forged by the choices you make & there is still time. Luke will not give up on you just Padme never did... just as I will not ", is just... agh damn good
The voice actor for Qui-Gon sounds EXACTLY like Neeson!
This is a damn good video. It provides logical context that we as Star Wars fans can benefit from.
This is so good. Great job developing and expanding the lore with this stuff.
This is fabulous. Well done to all involved. Looking forward to watching more Skywalker stories.
This was really a beautiful clip. You can feel the music and words these characters speak.😊
3:18 "Because you believe in the Emperor's truth? Or because you're afraid? Afraid of what it would mean if he didn't."
BRO! The writing in these videos is so good! 🙌
Thank you for this video. The dialogue is deeply relatable.
This is without a doubt the best Vader impression I've heard so far.
The writing for Qui Gon is perfect! It's exactly what I'd imagine him saying if he was still alive
My favorite one. Beautifully written and created.
“Because you believe in the emperor’s truth? Or because of what it would mean if he didn’t?”
Best line.
Very good, and I like that he's not addressing him as 'Vader" or Vader as an alter ego like people who follow Disney's Canon tend to believe. The two have always been the same. Bravo!👏
Bro these videos give me the chills! this is the gritty star wars I wanted.
Incredibly well written and now part of my head cannon as well. Having said that, I couldn't help but chuckle at the repeated close ups on Qui Gon. 😅
I'm gonna channel my inner TFS Vegeta here in regards to this channel's content: "OH MY GOD HE'S SO G*****N COOL!"
My favorite line:
"You, who dreamed of protecting those you loved. Now you try to drag him into the very darkness that enslaves you."
@Skywalker_Stories SO GOOD!!! -The graphics!!!-The dialogue!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤Thank you!!!
Now that's how proper jedi's talk. If this were in one of the movies this scene would be remembered forever
Bro you are the best. Thank you for saving us from disney.
