Revan was both Jedi and Sith, and then neither. His actions challenged both Orders, making them both "better"...and ultimately found and achieved Balance, opening the door for others to do the same. So he WAS a Chosen One who brought Balance to the Force...From A Certain Point Of View.
@@Hard_Boiled_Entertainment Except that's not what the chosen one does, nor does the prophecy state there are multiples. Per the official source material, Anakin was the chosen one. Revan was just some guy in history who left a lasting impact; nothing more. And Revan did not balance anything. George Lucas himself states the prophecy refers to destroying the Sith. Revan did not do that. Anakin did. End of discussion.
@thewarner2139 "George Lucas Himself" constantly updated and changed what he said, as he went on to develop his Mythos. As for the prophecy meaning There Will Only Be One, because the Force can only be Out Of Balance ONCE...well, as Yoda himself said (PRECISELY to call out Mace's and Obi-Wan's "destroy the Sith" assumption that you bring up), "A prophecy...that MISREAD, could have been."
Revan's philosophy here goes completely against Lucas's vision of the Force and what "balance" truly means, i.e. the supremacy of the Light. It's also been made clear that the Force is both controlling, and responsive to the will, of sentient beings. Especially those who can feel and wield it. Revan is walking dangerously close to Sith philosophy when he says the Force seeks and favors those strong enough to bend it to their will. He isn't even correct about Kreia's teaching, she hated the Force precisely because "it seems to have a will," and because it exerted control on the beings of the universe.
Thank you for voicing what I was thinking. George Lucas was right when he said it's about selflessness vs. selfishness. I bet the Whills would take issue with what Revan said and Kreia taught. If Revan hadn't been corrupted by Kreia, I'd like him more. There are some things you cannot be neutral on. Dark Side users don't care that their actions hurt living beings, the environment or whole systems. People forget that Kreia didn't just hate the Force but wanted to kill it. In her mind, it would mean freedom for everyone. Yes they have free will, but that doesn't mean their actions are without consequence. Whenever a Jedi or a Sith does something wrong, the Force allows them to suffer for their actions in the hopes that they'll redeem themselves. At this time, Darth Vader doesn't know it, but he'll prove Revan wrong by saving Luke and destroying the Emperor.
It is no wonder people respect and love Raven, he is wise and a man who understands the force, in some respect he is like Qui-Gon how he talks about the force, either way I too have high respects for Raven, he doesn't cling to power or hope, he understands the force is like nature, there is no light or dark, it doesn't chose sides, it does what it does, it is simply the force, one that can not and should not be chained I could listen to Raven talk for ages, specially all he could tell and teach
@@thewarner2139 I think the meaning behind there is no dark or light just the force means the force is one and the same thing, yes the dark and light exist but it is part of the force, one thing, one force, not two if, I got that right
