Indeed. I remember the canon comic that came out a few years ago where he is sent to a volcanic planet (not Mustafar) to intercept the Death Star plans and winds up dueling a doppelganger of Darth Maul to determine who the better apprentice for Sidious is. Just when it looks as though the Maul clone will win, Vader calls his lightsaber to his hand and ignites it, running the saber through himself and the Zabrak. When Maul asks in disbelief, "What could you possibly hate enough to destroy me??", Vader's cold response is, "Myself."
@@alexfischer7876 Well, as Vader himself would often say, he was the one to kill Anakin Skywalker, though as seen in ROTJ, Anakin was the one to break Vader's chains and overthrow the Emperor.
"Then use the time you have now to come back to the light. Use that time to be with Luke." "And what if I cannot do that?" "Then you'll live knowing you chose not to." That hits way too hard. Every choice, every action, leading to Anakin's transformation into Vader was *his* choice and *his* choice alone. He was manipulated, sure, but that doesn't mean they chose *for* him. When the credits are down, Vader had a choice; Redeem himself and prove his son and late wife right, or turn away and forever.
With how little Vader refused to argue back against being called Anakin in this scene, with how he mentions Luke as HIS son, not Anakin's, I hereby decree this to be canon and place it just before the events of ROTJ and his arrival on the Death Star. He's already starting to come back to the light here, he just doesn't know it.
Totally agree. Myself, I have always regarded the very moment when Vader started to refer Luke as HIS son, not Anakin's, as the beginning of his redemption. One can argue when that moment actually began. My own personal guess is that it is even prior to TESB, probably the very moment when Boba Fett informed him of Luke's identity. Regardless, we all know of the famous line "I am your father!" at Cloud City in TESB. We all know the words, but do we ever realize that Vader calls himself as Luke's father, he is not referring to Anakin or himself as another person etc. The moment Vader started to regard himself as Luke's father, when Luke was no longer a mere Jedi enemy, that was when his redemption began, slowly going forward step by step until he finally decided to save Luke's life on the second Death Star. The moment when Vader accepts Luke Skywalker as his own son, his own flesh & blood, he also accepts himself as Anakin Skywalker. The moment he started to see himself as his true self, as Anakin, that was when his true self - the light that Luke kept referring to in ROTJ - started to break free of the Dark Side & the identity of Vader. If Vader had never felt in his heart that Luke was his son then he had also never felt his true self either. And his redemption had never happened. Vader had never sacrificed himself for Luke if he had not accepted him as his child.

So refreshing to see all these characters referring to Vader as "Anakin." Because that's who he is. Darth Vader isn't a separate entity/personality. He is Anakin Skywalker. Fallen, yes, consumed by the Dark Side, yes. But he's still Anakin.
Incorrect. In legends they were the same individual. Disney retconned that and current canon confirms Anakin and Vader are in fact separate personalities in the same body. All the ghosts of Anakin's past and even his former self. And all are trying to offer him wisdom and a chance to redeem himself. What they all say is true. But it still hits me hard.😢
Wow. This is powerful! Very emotional and deep. I like how you are slowly leading up to the inevitable showdown with palpatine. All of those that Anaken lost guiding him to the decision he eventually makes: save luke from Sidious. Bravo, mate!!!
Boy these are INCREDIBLE, and I look forward to each and every one that you put out. The production, the quality, the wisdom created in dialogue, and the writing, it's SUPERLATIVE. All of these are heartfelt, and more legendary than anything that Disney could create. They are closest to Lucas story lines, and you an amazing creator! Keep them coming.❤
"I failed you, Mother. I should have freed you sooner." The part with Shmi is my favourite. Vader's reply "He doesn't understand" can be connected to the part in Return of the Jedi where he says to Luke "It is too late for me, son" This is a really good video.
I continue to be amazed at the quality of these stories. The dialogue between Padme and Vader/Anakin was much, much, MUCH better than the dialog seen in the actual movies. The Padme dialog in the movies came across (to me anyway) as cheesy and laughable (even the allegedly sad bits), but this dialogue comes across as a serious and heartfelt conversation. It's extremely well done, and would have made a great scene in a movie.
"Anakin..." Vader: "That name no longer has any meaning for me..." Obi-Wan: "He is more of a machine than a man..." Padme: "There is still good in him..." Luke: "There is still good in you, Father... That's why you couldn't destroy me. There is so much conflict in you, let go of your hate!"
As Qui Gon said Anakin used to be a boy who believed in freeing the slaves on Tatooine, of seeing the galaxy. But that was before Qui Gon met an untimely demise. Anakin was left at the mercy of a dogmatic, rigid, detached, and uncaring Jedi council and their order which had lost its way a long time ago. If the Jedi had been what they were supposed to have been, if they had given Anakin the emotional support and compassion that he needed then he wouldn’t have fallen for Palpatine’s manipulations. There needs to be a video in which Yoda apologizes to Anakin for how he and the council failed him, how they were too blind by their code to understand the nuances of emotions. Yoda should also apologize for what the council did to Ahsoka. This would occur after they both become one with the force.
Yoda did give Anakin sound advice on how to deal with his anxiety and fear of the future in ROTS, but Anakin ignored it because it wasn't what he wanted to hear. All of this garbage about the Jedi not caring about Anakin is just that: garbage. They made him a Jedi Knight, and despite his recklessness in AOTC, the entire Jedi Order went to Dooku's HQ to bail him out. Had he helped stop Sidious in ROTS, he probably could've been a Master at least.
This was amazing and at the same time sad. We can see that even though Anakin's family tried to convince him to return to the light, he was very sorry for what he had done, but they had hope that Luke could help him return to the light side. I also really enjoyed having Anakin talking to Vader himself, without a doubt that is Absolute Cinema!! Congratulations on your work and effort💪🏻🎉
How do you have such a DEEP understanding of all of these characters? I’m even more impressed with the flawlessly fitting and Lucas Star Wars-perfect impactful writing than the perfect AI and deepfake tech. I know that you said this is just your hobby but you’re putting magic out into the world that no other fan is doing right now. These are so insane in both storytelling and tech.
This was beautifully put. Definitely one of your best videos - all those who were close with Anakin talking, as well as Anakin himself! I love the theme of this video - those close to you reaching out to you to help you come back to the light and help you in redemption, as well as your true inner self trying to talk sense into you before it's too late. Definitely well put!
This vid is really beautiful. It just tugs your heart at how broken Vader is and the struggles he goes through. So much love and care. Better than what Disney Star Wars throws at us. Sure some were good, but most is just sad and just plain bad.
This video... This MOMENT is what Yoda once warned Anakin of when they first met. "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Anakin's fear of losing Packs led him to make the decisions he did as he proceeded to give into anger. Hatred soon followed as seen in the Tusken Raider camp & the fight on Mustafar. The suffering on his home planet, loss of his mother, losing Padme, believing he had killed his own child (Singular because he didn't know there were two until ROTJ), losing his limbs, feeling betrayed by all the Jedi and then by Palpatine, and lastly, the guilt, shame, fear and hatred of himself. When he said "It is too late for me, son" to Luke he didn't believe there was a way out. Even if he began acknowledging and feeling like Anakin again, he had resigned himself to his fate. His prison. His punishment. It took Luke's selflessness, Luke's determination to stand against the Emperor and perhaps it even reminded Anakin of his younger days, of Prime and Kenobi. Because all of them would have rejected Palpatine if they were in Luke's shoes. All in all, well done. It's a masterpiece and out of all these you've posted? It's definitely my favorite. The equivalent of A Christmas Carol for Vader.
These are well thought out and should be actually put into the films!!! The voices and dialogue is amazing script writing. I sure hope you’re in someone’s film school or theater class!!!

Oh what could have been....thoughts that probably haunted Vader for the rest of his life until he chose to defy the Emperor and save his son. What a broken man....
This is breaking me, the pain of regret and what could've been. It's a pain I relate to all too well. Darth Vader was his own enemy that redeemed himself in the end.
WOW that was Brilliant and Amazing! Great job folks. Loved how you brought Shmi back into the stories along with a brief glimpse of Padme and all the Jedi who were amongst Vader's life.
I know canonically these conversations between Vader Qui gon and Obi-Wan never happened. But it is still tearjerking to see how badly they want their friend back.
Something I'd like to see: As the 10th anniversary of the events of "A New Hope" approach, four people who were there reflect on them: Days earlier, Luke had been working on his uncle's farm, dreaming of going to the academy, and knew nothing of the Force. Within a few days, he had lost his aunt and uncle, his childhood friend, and even a new mentor, yet also found himself on a path that would lead to his father and affecting galactic events in a way he never thought possible. Leia had been a senator, carefully hiding her work with the Alliance. She would end up losing her home planet and her entire family, as well as being tortured by a man would turn out to be her father. Yet she would come to gain a new family through Luke, Han, and eventually Ben. Han had learned the hard way, growing up alone on Corellia, and through his experiences with Qi'ra and Beckett, not to trust or get attached to anything, other than Chewie and the Falcon. It was a simple transport job, like any of the dozens he'd taken before. Yes, he would find himself caring for the first time, not just about people, but a cause... and perhaps finding people who cared about him, as well. Wedge was already no stranger to combat by this point. Still, he was skeptical about the stories from the other pilots about the massive battle station they had seen at Scarif, a battle he'd been forced to miss. Surely a spacecraft that size was impossible. So, he couldn't believe his eyes when he finally saw the size of it, earning a reprimand from his commander for talking about it on the comm. How could anyone survive an assault on something that massive? And yet, he did. In fact, he was only one of three who did. Why did he return, when so many more experienced pilots didn't? Why was his wingmate Biggs shot down, while Wedge's X-Wing was only grazed? Was it skill? Luck? That thing called "the Force" that Luke later told him about? In the ten years (and many more battles) that followed, Wedge would keep asking himself those questions, still waiting for an answer...
Very impressive video! Seems like this could've taken place just before the events of "Return of the Jedi" and as I keep saying this never would've happened to Anakin if Qui-Gon had lived and still had been there for him back then.
Imagine Padme similarly appearing to little Leah (say, circa the Obi-Wan series). Hence "Just...images, really, feelings. She was...very beautiful. Kind, but...sad...."

Whom ever made this video did an absolutely amazing phenomenal job this is truly amazing and incredible and the people who made Star Wars would be absolutely amazed and proud of the people that made this amazing video.
The people who saw the best in Anakin Skywalker and the potentional in all that he could be. This is proof that Anakin was buried somewhere in Darth Vader. Padme was the love of Anakin's life, not Vader's. If Vader truly was so far removed from the man and the Jedi he was, he wouldn't be mourning Padme's death. He would probably see killing her as freeing himself from the weakness and fears he had as Anakin Skywalker. This is just my opinion.
This was amazing, thank you for continuing to create such brilliant masterpieces and extend the storytelling we know and love in new and powerful ways. ❤
I was hoping to see some members of the 501st who didn't make it at this command. They came back for their general encouraging him one last time like he did for them when the battle was lost
I feel like Vader seeing the ghosts of the people who died in his lifetime would have helped Darth Vader decide to defy the emperor and save his son to be canon.
This teared me up immediately. This was a beautiful work of art that encapsulates what Star Wars is. Sadly, the state of the franchise is disappointing, but it’s so refreshing to see fan work like this that keeps our hopes alive. Thank you so much!
What is written stays written. In the canon comic Vader truly comes back to Padmé's tomb. He finds a company of soldiers commanded by Sabé. For a moment he confused her with Amidala. Later, when Palpatine found it out, he gaves Vader the beating of his life and almost died xDDD
I wish we had more moments of Anakin/Vader thinking of his mother, too. I also like that in this scene, Padme's tomb is full of light that shines even on Vader here too. It always shined on Vader.
No one hates Darth Vader more than Darth Vader.
Probably why he finally could break free of that identity, even if it took a lot of time.

All the ghosts of Anakin's past and even his former self. And all are trying to offer him wisdom and a chance to redeem himself. What they all say is true. But it still hits me hard.😢
Vaders conversation with Anakin was something.."but i am who you could have been"
This might be your best work yet. So powerful, you could feel the emotions coming through the voices. Amazing job
It was great amazing best one 100%
I’ve never seen a UA-camr who deserves more views and subscribers.
Amen!
1000%
"I failed you, Mother. I should have freed you sooner." The part with Shmi is my favourite. Vader's reply "He doesn't understand" can be connected to the part in Return of the Jedi where he says to Luke "It is too late for me, son"
This is a really good video.
And he died as his mother, in his son's arms.
He knew he was wrong, he took the wrong path and decisions, however it was too late for him to regret
Kenobi's opening line almost brought me to tears. 😢
These scenes need to be made canon. Please keep up the good work! 🙏🏾
Padme didn’t deserve to die
You saved the the best speech for the end of video!!! Anakin speaking to Vader!!!! Now that was 🔥.
"Anakin..."
Vader: "That name no longer has any meaning for me..."
Obi-Wan: "He is more of a machine than a man..."
Padme: "There is still good in him..."
Luke: "There is still good in you, Father... That's why you couldn't destroy me. There is so much conflict in you, let go of your hate!"
Bro we need more vids of Vader and Padme’s interaction cuz this is too good to pass up
Watching this video almost brought me to tears. And that surprise appearance with Anakin talking to Vader at the end was a nice twist.
Great work Skywalker Stories, so cool hearing from Padme, Shmi, Qui-gon and Obi-wan.
This one tugged at my hearts strings hard. Another tragically beautiful story. Thanks for making them.
Wonderful work! It's good to see someone who understands Star Wars create great content. Thanks! 👍
DUDE! You just keep knocking it out of the park with these, keep it up 👍👍
Vader is a life lesson we all need on a daily basis or we too shall fall to the dark side of our emotions.
You can choose your actions but you can't choose your consequences.
That's Darth Vader's life in a nut shell.
These are so amazing!!!! This one is amazing!!! The character development in this one video is amazing!!!
The immense pain of holding on to his depression and anguish while also rejecting the many voices of his lost loved ones must be so overwhelming
Hollywood writers! Take NOTE of this!
THIS is how to write a great scene!!!!
Your collection of videos is very well done Disney should hire you
This vid is really beautiful.
Hate leads to suffering."
Anakin's fear of losing Packs led him to make the decisions he did as he proceeded to give into anger.
This video is really really well executed Even though I don't know exactly how this video was created, it is very inspiring I know that these types of videos take a lot of time and are very complex to produce, but I still wish there were more videos with this type of content
Once again & as always - masterful! And emotional!
Please add a video where Padme and Anakin reunite in the Netherworld of the Force, which is what it’s called. Include Shmi as well.
Yes please 🙏
Oh what could have been....thoughts that probably haunted Vader for the rest of his life until he chose to defy the Emperor and save his son. What a broken man....
How in the hell did this video make a grown man, me, cry?
"I failed you mother i should have freed you sooner" bro i litteraly teared up
This is breaking me, the pain of regret and what could've been. It's a pain I relate to all too well. Darth Vader was his own enemy that redeemed himself in the end.
Anything with Quigon speaking to Vader is Gold! Quigon even in Death believed in Anakin!! Keep up the Great content 🤘🤘🤘
"With hope, with Love." Man, your writing in these is amazing.
Something I'd like to see: As the 10th anniversary of the events of "A New Hope" approach, four people who were there reflect on them:
Days earlier, Luke had been working on his uncle's farm, dreaming of going to the academy, and knew nothing of the Force.
This is the best ive ever seen yet from you! Man this brings tears to my eyes 😭
How is this better THEN ALL THREE SEQUELS PUT TOGETHER
Honestly the video I most want you to make one day is padme and anakin reuniting in the afterlife so many way tha conversations can go.
Very impressive video! Seems like this could've taken place just before the events of "Return of the Jedi" and as I keep saying this never would've happened to Anakin if Qui-Gon had lived and still had been there for him back then.
This is a future classic indeed
This reminds of the film
"American Werewolf in London" where the cursed Man has to talk to his victim's ghosts
Imagine Padme similarly appearing to little Leah (say, circa the Obi-Wan series). Hence "Just...images, really, feelings. She was...very beautiful. Kind, but...sad...."
Darth Vader visited by ghosts of his past
0:42 Padme
1:19 Shmi
1:51 Qui Gon
2:49 Obi-Wan
3:51 Anakin
It’s scary how the AI is getting better with both voices and visuals
You're absolutely crushing it with these! Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing these with all of us! Your channel is bringing a lot of fans together in appreciation of what you're doing here, and I'm so grateful for that!😀👍
This is my favorite one you’ve done so far! Although Alec’s Obi-Wan would’ve made more sense for this scene.
I'm not sure of that, because from OT Obi-Wan's perspective, the man he knew as Anakin was completely dead.
These AI voice modules are getting better and better.
I just subscribed recently and I'll admit, I teared up and cried. That tugged at the heart strings and hearing those words from all the characters really touched my heart.
Fuck, this hit hard...
*Sniffs* Who’s cutting the space onions?
Proxy: I hate being him.
Starkiller: I think he does too.
Anakin/Vader lost for a while or thought with some that he lost his child(ren), Padme, Obi Wan, Ahsoka, Qui Gon, And His Mother Shmi yeah.
Got the lines for Mace on point! Love these!
The only thing I can suggest for the animations is have the characters blink. The blanks stares are a bit unnerving.
The characters after Qui gon blink and its ai, so it’s still getting there
I'm impressed by these Star Wars Stories. This one brought tears to my eyes. Well made.🤫😣👍🇭🇲🦘✌️👋 From Australia.👍
Absolutely well done. Impressive, most impressive. Great writing, excellent story. Lastly, the music is incredible! I'm not sure who created that score, but that helped tell this story so well!
Palpatine wanted him to be like Malgus, but he wasn't.
Because Anakin was once the famed hero of Clone Wars History himself.
I don't think he didn't have all the anger he won't do that to her
I am a strong man! This is just an animation about fictional characters! And it doesn't even make any..... Ok that's it 😭😭😭😭😭
This was amazing, thank you for continuing to create such brilliant masterpieces and extend the storytelling we know and love in new and powerful ways. ❤
I was hoping to see some members of the 501st who didn't make it at this command. They came back for their general encouraging him one last time like he did for them when the battle was lost
Damn that would move mountains
Convinced this is George Lucas with a secret computer set up in a janitors closet at Skywalker ranch, making these himself!
Right in the feels.😭
This is better than what Disney can think up, cause it feels like canon.
I feel like Vader seeing the ghosts of the people who died in his lifetime would have helped Darth Vader decide to defy the emperor and save his son to be canon.
Astonishing work
This teared me up immediately.
This was very powerful and perhaps the best one you made to date. I discovered your channel maybe three months ago. Thanks for all the great videos.
Maul: "What could you possibly hate more than me!?"
Vader: "Myself."
I wish we had more moments of Anakin/Vader thinking of his mother, too. I also like that in this scene, Padme's tomb is full of light that shines even on Vader here too. It always shined on Vader.
