- Each day in Mumbai 4000 men in white outfits and matching hats transport 175,000 lunches across the big city. We were lucky enough to follow a couple of Dabbawallas for a day in Mumbai, and see their work first hand.

These people are so admirable! Look at how they go far and wide to simply deliver people with food. The people behind this have big hearts.
In Mumbai, one spends atleast about 1+ hour in commuting. People leave home anywhere from 6 to 8 AM. You may have noticed, Indian food is not quick to cook ! So then mothers/wives cook food by 11 AM and pack in Dabbas (Tiffin Box) that is then picked up by Dabbawala, routed by their network, delivered to the correct person. Dabbawalas are typically not educated but their delivery and routing has been always without a mistake which is very impressive. This isn't computerized logistic system !
great work with accuracy
aaah this is amazing, what i wouldent do to eat my parents food right now :3
excellent video!
Ahh love dis! And Lol I can't believe y'all used that.
And in the bone-crushing crowd of the local train, I think they do an amazing job! Although they do get a compartment to themselves, don't they?
Also, I like their attitude of feeding people as being a noble deed..
So fascinating! I love India
This is such a great video! It wonderfully describes the lives of our dabba wallas. Just one thing, the translation has not done much justice to the dialog. What they are saying is so much deeper than what has been translated.
we loved that south indian song. and thought of instead of making the video only marathi, why not consider the dabbawallas a treasure of all of india!
Love this video! Well made and those Dabbawallas are one good network.
Just that the soundtrack in the video didn't go well..
A hindi or marathi song would have been better as these guys are from Mumbai.
I understand tamil so I could understand the song..
Keep making such videos! I love watching them! :)
this is great! but one thing i dont really understand: why wouldnt the workers just bring the food w/ them to work?
maybe they live alone, don't have time to cook their own food, as commuting here in mumbai takes a lot of time, so they usually leave early and hence this system is one of mumbai's lifeline.
i want some!
respect
Hmmm, who delivers their lunches?
good to know. we can only rely on our translators and make the most of it.
Lol at the song.
great video. great song. really enjoyed it. guys checkout michael wood's story of india(bbc) he describes how its done...
tamil song ! so perfect with the video
Dabbawalas are from Mumbai which is west of India and the song played is a South Indian song ...it's a bit funny.
They give food for free? The culture there was very nice
Why not just cook the food before you leave
Why are they playing a South Indian songs!! That's funny!!
:)
what is funny here?? whats wrong in playing south Indian song in this video. come on....
