i love this series its always such a delight to watch, so beautifully shot, and always just leaves you thinking about other cultures. Gracias por la oppurtunidad
Wow. Amazing how 4 minutes of a video can really move you.
I like the bit about how the squirrel eats the cocoa and the lady says "that's ok...they have a right to eat too". If the US grew cocoa, it would of course be industrialize, and scientist would be commissioned to develop some genetically modified seed that would either kill the squirrel or make the taste unappealing to the squirrel...and yet is somehow still "good" for us to eat.
Anyhow, great video, thank you.
The ending was so emotional I almost cried! I think this touches the problem of the modern dialogue between men and nature in general.
That was a good video, I enjoyed it very much.
This video touches the core of my sense of humanity.
Thank you for sharing this story along with a piece of good music.
This is just beautiful and amazing. Really touching story.
That was sad, beautiful and hopeful at the same time. Thank you guys.
I saved this video 5 years ago, under my favorites. 5 years later: i studied filmproduction and was in colombia on a cocoa farm. If only i knew, how much this video would mean to me today. More than just aesthetics. Thank you for your art and the joy inside my heart!
So did I! History, culture, food. I love iiiiiitttttttt! This is info I've prob wouldn't have learned or seen first hand! Appreciative for this micro mini doc and experience! Thanks Perennial Plate

Orgullosa de ser mexicana !!!! Proud to be Mexican
The lady in this film is priceless. Amazing.
Thank you, thank you very much for making these videos.
Wow this is so true for deep rooted cultures. As an African American knowing part of me came from royalty in Africa hurts, I have no way of knowing my tribe, my culture, my ancestors. I want to know what we ate and how we celebrated. People who still have that chance should grab it shoot for the stars with pride. What's happening to this world???
Thank you.
I respect the woman and all the other people in this video very much.
A great job they're doing there, nice to see them getting back to their origins.
Cacao is very special, it tastes like paradise, I swear - I'm not talking about the industrial chocolate with thousands of additives, but about natural, nutrional chocolate that's actually healthy.
love it! keep up making stories like this

Everyone has something to learn from this brilliant woman
My heart is breaking for that woman.
amazing video...
the chocolate in its real flavor taste soo good. Yes is true many people love their plants and trees, their gardens. The lady is sweet she is worry about her trees.
I will protect the chocolate. I will protect with my whole heart!!
what is the brand of their chocolate? can I buy it somewhere and does it taste different, than most other chocolates?
Well, it will probably be less sweet, because it is usually either sold unswetened or sweetened naturally. Also, I think it isn't as smooth as people might be used to (chocolates from switzerland and chocolate bars), it's a bit more rustic. It's deliciously different. I wouldn't know the brand however, if I find it I'll make sure to share it!
"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry" Ernest Hemingway
Wow 3
man thats sad. no one to carry on the business she has run her whole life to make a living,
great video but left me sad knowing a ladies life are those trees and once she has passed noone will give two shits about them and destroy or sell the land and move elsewhere.
