Hi Maya, You can easily grow your own Paprika, pepper and tomatoes by collecting the seeds from the ones you use, and put them in the soil. Everytime I eat one I threw the seeds into the garden bed. You can also dry them between toilet paper and use them later. Also beans grow very easily. Let dry beans sprout between wet paper for a few days and plant them. Radish, beets and carrots are also very easy to grow. Also ends of leak and onions that have roots on them, you can plant and they grow back. Try it with your vegetable waiste, you'll be surprised by the outcome! SUCCESS! I love your video's and your courage to do all this on your own!May I ask how old you are? I wish I had the courage to do something like this when I was young. I am Dutch, 73 years old, but still love to do things like what you are doing. I stay in the Algarve every winter 3 months. My granddaughter in Portugal uses a filter system to be able to drink water. It saves her heavy loads of drinking water bottles to carry from the shops. How did the seeds from Basel turned out? Keep safe! Muito Obrigada, vielen dank!

Be careful planting trees in the heat. As someone who lives in Australia amd loves gardening, planting is better in late spring when the ground is warming up. They may need some shade and lots of water initially. I love your land and your beautiful space. 🥰

Exactly! Summer is not planting time in that climate. Fall is the right planting time for trees in mediteranean climate.

Trust me, you are going to need to replace those twigs for your tomatoes 😉A decent plant will hold 2 to 4 kilos of tomatoes easily and I've already replaced my twigs three times already, but at least I've already fed 5 people from my two plants and it still bears about 5 times more fruit. Awesome little plants.
Oh, be aware that cucumbers need some kind of trellis to climb, otherwise everything will just hang/lay onto the ground and spoil. Again learned it the hard way myself.

You need to install a couple of skylight windows at the top bedroom in the mezzanine (maybe you already have, I just haven't seen the interior in detail). BTW, you may have meant rural bedrooms, because I've lived in Portugal, in both Estoril and Cascais and my bedrooms were more than BIG. For things like Rucola or Tomatoes you need a spot that doesn't get sun all day, it's too much, a little shadow wouldn't hurt. Now you only need a solar battery or generator operated pump to bring water nearer to your garden and you're all set up.😘 Kudos👍

So even when the before is messy or doesn't seem very interesting to you, it's still worth it to film and show us, so we have a better idea of the progress you are making! I would love a better overview of what the cabin looks like in it's entirety so that it's extra satisfying when we see it when it's finished!

Hi, Maya. I’m in Texas and unfortunately we have that kind of heat all summer long. Please keep yourself well hydrated and hope you are wearing sunscreen, a wide brimmed straw hat would help also. Since you have solar, you might want to buy a small fan to cool you off during the heat of the day. If you could install another window opposite the one you’ve already planned, you’d get some great cross ventilation and better air flow. Always enjoy your videos and projects and congratulations on your growing subscribers!

Can totally understand why you want to sleep in a cooler place than your hot roof at the moment. I do find it a pity that you paint all the wood(bedcover and room) over this gorgeous, warm wood colors with white!!
I imagen taste is always a very personal thing :) Love your place and what your making of it and adore your river... :)

Too much wood color everywhere though, the white is fresh. I was thinking where's the second coat at first, but l like the whitewashed look. Her personal style and decor will complement it.
