The only people upset with this are the media.
facts
Exactly
💯
doesnt matter to me, but it is funny amount of those dudes streaming on IG etc in the locker rooms then turning around and saying its privacy is kinda funny
absolutely .
always thought locker room access was inappropriate. that's literally where you go as a team for privacy.
Now if only the players would put their phones down during halftime.
Marshawn Lynch is owed an apology.
A big one man's was not comfortable with the media and he was not with it lol only one got him comfortable was deion 😂😂
Deion could make friends with a rock. Dudes charisma and relatability is unmatched
refund all his fines
Love Marshawn. Funny stuff.
I'm just responding so I don't get fined
As a fan I'm perfectly fine with this. People deserve a private space to wind down and collect their thoughts before having to deal with the press. Getting bombarded with media questions right after a big loss or something has to be really annoying, and I don't see any major benefit from doing interviews in the locker room. Except maybe to catch somebody in an emotional moment and generate some controversy.
I could give 2 shts what a coach has to say middle of the game. Those interviews are useless. Always answered with the same ol' same ol'.
They have a 15min cool off period after the game, but yea I’m in total agreement. My angle is I find it funny they do this after Brady can’t do certain things other reporters/commentators can
You don’t see the benefit in reporters reporting the game lmao 😂😂😂
PRIVATE is the key word
No he doesnt see the benefit of having players answer reporters questions within the locker room.
Let me ask you this, is it ok for male reporters to be in womens locker room? Well no matter what you think, they arent lol @@JohnWick-m5h
"If we aren't allowed in the locker room, how are we supposed to establish relationships with the players?"
The same way the rest of humanity has done, when everyone involved is fully clothed.
Don't be so intelligent and make your point so concisely. It frightens people something fierce.
Completely agree. Locker room should be players only. Give the players a minute to shower, get dressed, get their thoughts together first.
@@RageDaug yeah then how are they supposed to get an emotionally charged overreaction?
@@jgbenji7979 exactly. It often seems this is more of the reason. Emotional responses make great sound bites.
Well said
It should have been this way the whole time. That’s a private place, give them privacy. You leave your blood sweat and tears on the field and then have to have media obligations. The least you could do is give them time to unwind and shower in private
I got to stand outside of a locker room earlier this year to watch the players go in after a game. I was shocked at how soon after the media was let in. Definitely on the players' side with this one.
Not wanting television crews in a locker room is normal in every other locker room on earth.
Extending the courtesy to theirs should be a non-issue.
Imagine doing this in a womens locker room
Thats honestly thats a good point
@@drewtoya8015really? You just now thought about that 😂
Exactly have men in wnba locker rooms and watch elle duncan cry on sportscenter 😂
@@jsidkfncjfdldld….thats a Bad example considering half of them are Dudes anyway
I agree. They should start doing this is women’s locker rooms
Those men deserve some privacy after playing 4 quarters of football man damn let them decompress, get a shower and get changed before you get in there with cameras and microphones. They're already forced to do post game press at the podium why do you need to be in the locker room the second they're done playing?!?
I always thought it was weird they invaded the locker room. You know it's all bs because they don't do this to women in the same capacity.
I mean this has absolutely nothing to with women bro😂any person with common sense knows no matter what the situation was there would be no media in a WOMANS locker room, this is clearly just about their own personal privac
@Hahahaaalolll except there has been media in the women's locker room. The fact it's not done in the same way they do it to men means it's wrong. The media does not belong in the locker room, period.
Most fans will be fine with the media being kept out of the locker room. I find the majority of the reporters have their own narrative in mind and the ask the questions to try and lead the answer toward their opinion. Let the media select 4 players from each team to hit the podium post game for questions
Kyle Long is somewhere celebrating 😂
Didn’t Pat do this to andrew luck also ?
i've never understood why we needed a crowd of reporters sticking microphones in players faces while they're literally trying to get changed after the game
like it's fine guys, i think we can wait a few minutes to get their cookie cutter answers to mundane questions, let them put their clothes on first maybe
Been a fan since 86 and I can say without a shred of doubt not 1 person who is not a member of the team belongs in the locker rooms.
Good. It’s a private space.
🤣
Imagine going and interviewing the media after or before they shower ? They should have the media members be naked, wearing towels and/or naked whilst interviewing.
I’ve had the same thought for such a long time. Give these guys some time for clarity. Most of the time it’s after a loss, they haven’t watched the film, emotions are high, etc. I just think if you give them time to take a breath it will be better for the product.
Damn AJ is like damn no more Dong shots😂😂
As a fan, I have never thought it was cool for media to be in the locker room.
My father coached, and I always thought it was so weird that journalists, especially women, wanted to spend time around my dad and the players while they were changing.
It never made sense.
Tbh its weird this was ever allowed. Pretty sure no one outside the media ever asked to see locker room interviews. You could literally wait outside the locker room and interview them on the way out when they are fully clothed. Really theres way more media access than there actually needs to be
No doubt, I never liked press in the locker room. Utterly ridiculous.
Never liked media in the locker room. That should be a private place for the team.
Only time I don’t want to hear from reporters is at halftime. Feels odd when they bum rush a coach in the middle of a game at halftime. Let them focus on the game. They are gonna give the same answers, which I totally get. I’m tired off “We gotta play better” when losing and “we gotta keep the momentum “ when winning. It adds nothing, just show some sick highlights 😂
I’m 1000% behind this. Only people mad about this is the media lol
My uncle played for the lions in the 80’s. Meat watching been going on for a LONG time in the locker room
Good on the players!
Next can we eliminate sideline interviews during the game? They add literally nothing to the fan experience.
100% for this. I wouldn’t want reporters chasing after me at the gym if I was trying to take a shower in the locker room
They have a MEDIA ROOM for this exact purpose!!
Journalists will be butthurt but the consumers mostly get it
As a European fan, this was always crazy to me. With "our" football, broadcasters can request a few players for on field interviews after the game, that's it. Those comments right before game / while walking in at halftime are completely useless as well, just get rid of those while you're at it.
They don’t do this to women!!! Stand up men !!!
everyone hates media I used to be mad when Bill wouldn’t give his answers at the pressers but now I realise it’s because he hates them 😂
I have NEVER understood why they couldn't just wait for them to finish changing, its a damn changing room for players.. ITS WEIRD and just leaves the door open to bad things.
This should have been happen. There is no point doing the press in the locker room and then have to do the podium its crazy
The players deserve privacy to shower and change. Cameras catch guys with very little on, medicine bottles in lockers. Let the players decompress. Interview outside or in a media room.
100% fine with this. Its their private area for the team. Always thought it was weird. Journalists accidentally put some baseball player taking a shower on ESPN
I’m all for it. Interview on the field or in the press room.
I'm surprised it took this long
Most of the NHL does player interviews right outside the locker room. If I was a player I would hate to dodge cameras and trip over cords and sound guys in the locker room. Especially after a loss! And then having to stay in uniform after a game instead of stripping down and getting comfortable.
I disagree with that comment. I can be a reporter, but I put my information on the computer in every other media. ALL MEDIA have ACCESS to that SAME REPORT. You don't need to be in the locker room. It's called plagiarism
"I'm just here so I don't get fined". Reporters can do their job without coming into the locker room, they just watched the same game I just played in, they wouldn't get a peep out of me.
When’s the last time a media journalist had anything to say that couldn’t be found out in a normal interview. They just enjoy the access and think it’s cool. They’re reporters, not players. Wait outside weirdos
I mean yeah they never should've been in there
That "baby oil" question to Jamar was a red flag. Like yooo these dudes wierd. Media don't need to be in locker room anyway
I can't even count the times I have said "man why are they talkin to him half naked?" Basketball too
Nobody but the team should be in locker room. Idgaf if ppl wanna hear from them 15 minutes after. They can fn wait. Men always get disrespected like this. They wouldn't do this to women. I've nvr seen accidental shots of womens soccer team, or god forbid wnba 🤢.
They shouldn’t be in the locker room anyway. That’s what press conferences are for.
This is literally only a problem to weirdos. Bro they are humans too. Let the men get dressed in peace. This will give them time to gather their thoughts after a big win or tough loss
Good move. That’s what the podiums should be for.
The players deserve a private locker room.
im not a fan of the locker room interviews anyway they always feel like the player is put in a corner and small but at the same time very huge reporters try to trap them and "get them".
they shouldn't be allowed in there.
How is being in the locker room even a thing? It’s an invasion of privacy it feels like the media have been taking advantage of that for a long time. Needs to change obviously. This feels like a no brainer but the media has a lot of power so that’s the main issue.
No need for it with all the social media outlets
Sounds like a great change. Hasn't basketball always done this? It works out pretty well for them. Let these athletes decompress privately after competition.
Didn’t Pat get in trouble for some locker room filming? 😂
Hallways. And on the field. The locker room should be private
5 years from now we'll wonder why we even did locker room interviews
Female reporters are somewhere punching air 😂
Cameras should only be in there when the team gives their postgame wrapups after a win. That's always good entertainment.
Seen it LIVE several times. Simply stupid to have anybody in the locker who is not on the team and staff
That's for the team why they allow Ja"marr to hold press conference in the locker room instead using the podium for delivering statement
They can still talk to them and get their "news" right outside the locker room. Heck go right outside the doors even. They can still hold up to their contractual media clauses, just do it OUTSIDE the locker room. Why are the "media" so insistent that it happen INSIDE the locker room? They deserve the privacy.
After a win, let accredited beat writers in. After losses, go to the podium in the press conference room.
Literally zero issue with this, that should be a completely private area.
Bless up, should have happened ages ago. A lot of players will make millions more and get to keep their jobs because of this decision.
there would not be camera's in a womens locker room with naked women and camera's in there face, so why should the men have to keep putting up with it.
Media has no business in the locker room. The players coaches and staff should have some privacy. Give them a chance to let off steam after the game.
About time. These ridiculous questions asked of people trying to get dressed.
Journo's in the locker room is and was always A STUPID IDEA! Anyone for it is seriously weird.
I been saying they should stop this and the post press conference. Leave it for Monday
I’ve always thought journalists in the locker room is weird.
They should also get rid of end of quarter, halftime interviews. They are annoying and pointless. Once the game starts leave the players and coaches alone till the game is over.
About damn time, if media is allowed in mens locker rooms then i wanna see men in wnba locker rooms
This is a great change. Honestly just tired of sports journalism in general. Sideline reporters add no value with in-game interviews. Shoving cameras in peoples' faces after a loss is also annoying. MLB should take note and get rid of mid-game interviews too
I never knew why they couldn’t wait until the players shower up
Reporters in the locker room gave us gems like Jalen Ramsey talking 🌈😂
Reminds me of that time Joe Buck went into a locker room pre game and they just blew his azz off 😂
Ridiculous that people have to answer stupid questions after they just put everything into a football game
As a meat watcher myself, im utterly devestated by this news.
The press should never have been allowed in in the first place.
Call who they want to interview to meet outside the locker room
They should have never been allowed into locker rooms. In any sport.
Media training for athletes and coaches makes it unnecessary to be in locker rooms. You mostly hear the same predictable stuff, nothing original, as you would at the podium. Media are unhappy because they feel a level of entitlement which has been challenged
Set up a locker for the media to do interviews, outside of the players locker room.
I feel the locker room interview are a bit predatory. The media is looking for an emotional response to create drama and increase sales, often at the expense of players. C'mon guys....at least let them show off their drip for the interviews! lol.
They should just send the former player reporters to the locker rooms to do the interview..they know what is what in the locker room
NFL has 100’s of rules already that are not even in any other large US sport. This is weird.
Idc about any sports media except when it pertains to questions about health. Asking about most other topics (strategy, job status, personal relations, etc.) just produces vague and meaningless answers because most members of a team prefer to keep that stuff private. At that point, media just gets desperate and tries to create headlines by asking manipulative questions; answering to reporters has been a game alongside the game for a long time now, and players deserve to get their mental straightened before being bombarded by them.
Can't believe it's gone on this long honestly
Level the playing field and have the media disrobe during press conferences! The women would get the most questions...😅
The media may be unhappy but it's the players who should make the decision.
Always can meet in the middle if you don’t have a camera and just have a voice recorder then you can come into the lockeroom surprised they ever let cameras back there to be honest it is always more awkward knowing the film is rolling
Lets also do away with the in game coach interviews, or stopping them on the way to the locker room at half.
As a fan of the NFL, I like the league less when I watch reporters harass a player after a tough loss in the locker room. Directly makes me hate them for allowing that
I agree! Give these guys some space. Enough do on field interviews and press conferences.
i agree that Journalist shouldnt be in the locker room due to just the privacy of it.
