*_Imagine hearing the voice of Patrick Lavon Mahomes II in a broadcast booth in 2040._*
I ain’t tryna hear Kermit call games 🤣
Nah bro will still be slinging it, you gotta wait until 2050 lol
Oh wow he sounded a little Mahomie right there
🐸 WoOw what a PAss
🐸 TOUCHDOWN!
I wish that FOX didn't just throw him out on the top spot and at least let Burkhardt and Olsen shine for another year. By far the best commentary booth in the NFL, sneaky good.
He's been ok. Awkward at times, but so was madden his first year. ✌️🇺🇲
Answering before watching it: With that hype, that contract and him being thrown as the lead color guy from the get go - it was obvious he would not live up to it immidiately. However, I would be lying if I said he was terrible all the time. He is getting better with each game as he gains experience. I think he will be good eventually but I'm not sure if he'll ever reach the level which would be worth the amount of money he gets.
He's the only sportscaster I've ever heard use the term "red area."
Belichick has been far more interesting in the media because he actually seems like a real person with an actual personality!
What do you mean by “a rule person”?
@@zplapplapprobably someone who knows the rules very well, like the guy they ask their opinion on in the IR
@@N279 Thanks. Yes, completely makes sense.
Tom has a personality though, its slips out like with the baker mayfield thing and examples in the video. He just has to stop being someone he’s not
I agree. I keep saying I can't stand Tom Brady, and everyone is like yOu'RE jUst JeAlOUs... Nah, I will take my imperfect, human team over an arrogant robot man who cared so little about his model wife he cheated on her with football.
Belichick: Likeable
Gronk: Likeable
Purdy: Likeable
Mahomes: Likable
Aaron Donald: Likeable
Tom Brady: 🦗🦗🦗
As a Bears fan, thanks for the mental anguish, Thomas.
😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, Thomas!😆
His first game was pretty bad, but I feel like he has been getting better. It feels weird for them to try to force him as a personality so hard. I mean obviously getting the GOAT to do anything is gonna be views, I just mean that I also saw him doing power rankings and stuff. Feels weird lmao.
I didn't watch his first game, but it must have been real bad because every time I hear him I feel like he's gotten worse.
I just want to know why he always calls it the "red area."
@@rars0nbecause that’s what the red zone is referred as often??? U guys a ridiculous he’s actually been good
@@yohancemosley4470 He's literally the first broadcaster I've ever heard say "red area."
It is going to take time to learn something new. The should have put him on a post game show to get him warmed up first
@@rars0nsome coaches and QB do call it that
I actually like the way he interjects with excitement whenever a cool play happens and the play by play commentator is doing his thing it's like a kid watching something cool for the first time lmao
As someone who studies the game obsessively, having a commentator that's straight analytical and less fluff would be amazing, like you said letting Brady actually criticize players. It's better than listening to Collinsworth just making the same noise over and over again and bringing up Mahomes in a game that has nothing to do with him. So far though I actually like Brady's commentating, like in the Buccaneers game I heard a few quiet moments where you hear him say "You got him" one of them being right before the Evans TD, makes it interesting hearing the greatest QB making reads from the booth.
Tell me you’re in a Tom Brady fan club without telling me that you’re in a Tom Brady fan club.
Seriously thinking about naming my kids Thomas, Edward, Patrick and Brady
If there's one thing we know about brady is that he will improve.
Guaranteed. He'll take criticism and grow from it.
Great and fair analysis, I especially agree about the 2-minute drill factor. Personally, I think this is just another avenue for Brady to test himself in and there’s absolutely no way he’s gonna fulfill the duration of that contract. I imagine the opportunity to call a Super Bowl this very season (instead of waiting 2-3 years for it) played a big part in him taking up the gig now
Brady probably wouldn’t be so scrutinized in his role if he didn’t replace Greg Olsen
He will get better as the season goes on
Cuphead background music is an absolute banger as per usual
He been ok like he honestly have his good moments and it’s crazy that I notice week by week improvement…people forget Greg Olsen was calling games while still playing he would call a game on his bye weeks toward the end of his career and then he got hurt his last year and I remember him calling a few games so Greg had experience before doing it full time in 2021 also could re-watch himself before doing full time and Tom is literally improving week by week…Romo talks to much but obviously but you can tell he still watches a lot of film
The $375 million number stuck with me in an odd way. Then it dawned on me, when Fox bought the rights to the NFC it was viewed as over paying since the AFC got about $375 million for a 5 year contract. I may have confused AFC with NFC but it does show how much the league has grown since the nineties.
Love hearing Brady in the booth most of my family does he’s getting better and I love his emotion when calling games.
We got to get this guy to post more.
The tricky part with hating is that if he leans into it too much, the viewer might start to think “why am I watching this mediocre crap?” And change the channel.
Praising the players as if they’re demigods communicates to the viewer that they absolutely have to keep watching because they’re witnessing something great. That’s why the networks lean toward that style of commentary
Great points. There’s definitely a balance to be struck for sure
Tom and I both have four first name, it’s a weird life
I think he will good. It's kinda cool we get TB in the media sphere of football. Most people who are considered goats kinda set recede from the limelight and kinda just do weird billionaire things and just become boring . He will get better as soon as he figures himself and his teammate out.
I just watched your Derrick Henry video wondering where you were! I'm glad you put out a video today.
I can see him figuring it out, I'd be eager to hear his call of Chiefs-Niners in week 7.
Hes not great, but unfortunately Id still rather listen to him that 75% of the teams.
Ive seen a couple games, hes ok
everbody loved the clapback tom gave to baker and I think he will get better with more time in the booth. He is the GOAT for a reason
They need to offer Peyton Manning the same contract and put them in the broadcast booth together. I’d pay money to listen to that every week.
Noti e how alot of critique this video displayed was from Bradys FIRST GAME, as he vastly improved in thr weeks after.
There’s a solid blend of all 4. Cowboys were in 3 of them though so it gets confusing.
Brady is good enough to see aptitude and realistic potential. He’ll get better. Dude doesn’t half-ass anything.
Damn, if you were a Bears fan, hearing that Tom almost joined your team must still sting like hell.
My friends told me I was delusional when I thought we might get him back in 2020
He’s gotten much better week to week already. He’ll be great soon
He’s actually pretty good. Better then most
Huge Brady hater throughout his NFL career and I agree tbh. Standards are low though, most of those guys are annoying as fuck.
Pretty good? Standards must be low, he's not horrible but he's definitely not good yet...
@@RealCGH it is going to take time to get experience but I do think he has been improving
the Manhattan Project comparison is so wild like who made/what inspired that comparison 😭
There is two job rolls here, presenters and co presenters. Presenters Lead the conversation and Co Presenters add small parts to bounce off what was said and to make conversation. I honestly think he's a great co presenter.
Im so happy i watch redzone so i bearly heard tom so far this year
I LOVED the vid even tho I disagree with some of ur criticism.
Olson the player & human: INCREDIBLE
Olson the Commentator: mehhh
Love this channel
This is my 3rd video ever here and ya got me locked in
Funny enough, when he takes the mask off and gets to hating, I am more entertained than when he gives grades or gets lots in thought. If he can be a critical analyst that really hammers mediocrity, I think I’ll appreciate his commentary more. His best moment so far has easily been when he called out Baker and the Bucs, because he was 100% correct. That’s pretty much the same Bucs team that choked to the Falcons of all teams, they ain’t winning a ring at this rate.
Who the holy fuck is that mummy asking Tom a question at 0:40 holy moly
I’m not a loser who sits and tries to break down every second of someone’s job just because they make more than me so with that being said I’ve genuinely enjoyed Brady’s commentating. And this is coming from someone who’s always rooted against him on the field.
I like him as a commentator
He’s getting better week by week… it’s the awkward pauses and not really having breath control that take me out of it sometimes.
He’ll get better. His analysis isn’t bad he just needs to get it out quicker and more concisely
at 7:10 it was D throw. Dak threw it so much in the back of elliot that he couldnt catch it.
I think it can help to understand if the incomplete pass is the fault of the receiver or the quarterback
Give the man time… I mean he only just started. But if you know anything about Brady he is gonna put in the hard work and get better and better. Dude is a competitor in every aspect of time.
Well, Tom Brady's job will never be financial planner.
I get the impression the only difference between TB12 and MJ is that MJ would say the things TB thought.
could you imagine "Brady 2026 or whatever year" for a football game. I'm joking, but also not really
Greg Olsen is the most positive person in the universe and I love him.
Brady just needs to become the Marco Pierre White of commentary.
Are you good at a thing you did 4 times in your life or would you rather people wait a bit until they judge you?
I hope it gets a lot better
The version of Brady we want on broadcast is a version I don’t think we’re gonna get. He cares too much about being liked to lean in to the “bad guy”potential he could have for sure.
He’s alright awkward but fine for 2 months but I’m hoping he uses his football knowledge to call games kind of like romo
As a authentic Tom Brady hater, I agree with all of your takes. Tom being slightly more critical makes him seem authentic & sets him apart
you are so right about what Brady needs to add to his commentary game - FOX need to unleash the borderline psycho that Tom can be when it comes to football
I think he's fine. He doesn't talk too much.
I'd love for Brady to just spit hate everytime something sloppy happens
I tried hearing it, but all of his games (except for one) as of right now have been ruined by Dak Prescott yelling "YEAH, HERE WE GO!" every time he snaps the ball, which annoys me, so I have to mute the TV.
The GOAT is back
What are the other choices? Either he is good at it. Or he is just like us.
They should’ve done a three man crew and kept Greg Olsen with the a team, and but Brady isn’t that bad ,it’s his first year
If his name wasn't Tom Brady and you just went off of his commentary. Most people would think he's was as bad as Jason Witten. That being said maybe in a year he will better.
Cmon that's a bit excessive. He's NOT Witten bad.
He's not even bad. He's OK and in fact pretty good in spots. He'll get better
@@mattl8774 He just comes off as very wooden and his chemistry with Kevin Burkhardt isn't there. But yes he will most likely get better. And I'm hoping he does because he seems to cover the Cowboys alot.
Serious question how many actually enjoy listening to commentators while watching the football game.
For me I have the game on silent if the commentators are talking too much.
I can't stand listening to them talk about nonsense for however long.
But for others that watch the game do you enjoy listening to commentators or is this something you put up with.
I'm curious on what the consensus is with sports commentators during a game.
Better than TNF Al Michaels.
interseting video, glad i was 7th to see it!
I always thought brady had a super winey sounding voice. I haven't found it too greating yet.
He sounds just like Greg Olson
Maybe he needs the right person to bounce off of? Like, the Mannings have been killing it in MNF.
Yall Brady haters make laugh. Kiss the 7 rings when you go to bed tonight
You mean 7?
I don't know if enough people watch baseball on ESPN for this comparison to land, but Brady is the Alex Rodriguez of the NFL. Most of what he says sounds like its been filtered through a focus group, and everything else is the most boomer-ass 'back in my day' takes.
Hmmm arent you a bit hard on him here? Ofc he should have expectations on him but still. Not much positive about him.
Brady should lean into his "hater" style. It's more authentic. It'll help him relax and if anyone has the credentials to say it how it is its Tom
He's one month into a profession that takes ppl years to develop in lmfao
He's fine
Hey, he was a better player for sure. I think Peyton would be better as a commentator.
I would love for Brady to go full Simon Cowell. Rip apart mediocrity.
I think Brady's done fine and will continue to get better but he'll never be worth the price tag. Brady has the ability of being very candid when he talks about football which should serve him well going forward.
Brady is in fact not a first name. It's a surname that people in America began to use as a first.
Brady just has to let loose and let him be himself more. I think his commentary would be more colorful that way because he kinda sounds like wonder bread rn, which isn’t bad by any means, but it could have more character.
He's been hiding his personality for years. If he acts more like the brady we hear about in stories I think he'll do well.
He's not allowed.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone is making him to the throw grading scale. Romo is an annoying commentator now because CBS neutered him from calling out plays because casual watchers at home were too confused. That is how he made is commentary, so now he doesn't really have as much to say, and tries to be a personality more than a commentator.
It wouldn't surprise me if FOX gave Brady a simple gimmick so they could avoid things like a Romo situation.
Did something happen to your voice?
Personally I don’t like how he tries to punk current players. Some argue he’s earned the right to do so because he’s the GOAT, but to me it seems harsh. Other former NFL players turned commentator don’t feel the need to be as blunt as he is
WTF are you talking about?
let us all appreciate all the scientists and engineers who invented the MUTE button. Thank you.
Olsen has been better than Brady in the booth. Pretty handedly, Brady is an owner, so he cannot talk about a few topics on fox. Olsen doesn’t have those regulations, and I like that.
Brady may be the goat, but he is NOT my go to guy for Fox.
why does everyone pretend like they like Brady now?
Bring back gerg with the thrid leg
No. But hopefully he will improve with experience.
Brady and the Patriots were caught multiple times cheating 😂 he's the 🐐 of cheating..
Anyone who bets against Brady in anything is a fool!!
Is that cuphead music?
No.
Maybe. Idk give him some time
He's boring as hell and everyone knew that going in apparently except the broadcast networks themselves. I'm a lifelong Pats fan and I'd still rather see Olsen or Romo doing color commentary in the booth. Brady is the GOAT, but he's never been known as a particularly enthusiastic public speaker.
Put Jason Witten back on.
I had no idea he was becoming a play by play man.
He's been fine.
hes ok so far
