Hey there! We hope you enjoyed this lesson. If you want to test yourself, there's a quiz on our website: www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/newsreview-2023/unit-1/session-4
I used the Apps to listen the review and the third key word in the lesson should be "crammed" instead of "turbulent". Could you please take a look of that and fix it if it was wrong?
@@phamtrathaonguyen9027 Thank you for pointing this out! 🤩 We have now changed it. You were right - the word is 'crammed' 👍
Next time please explain the words: Incompetence, Opportunism, DJ, ah and ignoramus.
4:04 I've read that make a bow means to appear for the first time in some role or position and now you say the contrary, i'm confused
Good question! In the headline, it says 'makes last public bow', which means her final bow. In reality, 'make a bow' is actually used for both a first and last bow - we know this is confusing! To help this, adverbs like 'first', 'last' or 'final' are often added to show if it is the first or last bow for a public figure.
I think its the best learning English class on UA-cam. Thanks a lot for this useful information .

I remember back in school, those of us who were good at cramming school work are the ones that did well in exams
After doing some search I figured out that "make a bow" is to appear publicly for the FIRST TIME, as a performer, politician. Is that correct?

She ran out of lies 👹👺
she's the only prime minster that I have a huge respect for ,because she dealt pretty well with that deadly attack on the two mosques, and she was brave enough to call that incident a terrorist attack unlike most of leaders in the west she made sure to make that incident a way to pull her nation together not to divide them
That’s very good she quit she is mad
Burnout from what? From posing to the cameras? What real problem did she resolve?
