An old neighbor friend of mine introduced me onto these. As stated here- it really feels like magic. I was gobsmacked by this device. It’s worth it’s weight, and can be such an essential for mid-advanced acoustic players who noodle. This is a gift for creatives. I don’t yet own one, yet wouldn’t ever hesitate to recommend how this tech can vastly improve every area of anyone’s playing, wether it’s songwriting, or just practicing different technique, it gives beautiful new roads to travel. I can’t wait to own one of these.
What am I missing? All you have done is paste the effects stompbox to the back of the guitar body. I guess it is a personal ambience tool without having to use an amp but it doesn't look like this is a performance tool unless you are plugged in.
I've just got one of these! ..but only attached it to guitars with passive piezo 'stick on' pickups. Unfortunately they sound bad and the tone wood distorts at low volume (any higher then 4) with 'hall' setting ..the other effects were worse And at volume 4, it's too quiet (even for bedroom use). I think you really need a decent piezo/pickup system to get the best out of this device. Probably combined with a nice preamp/EQ unit. I have one guitar with that set up, sadly packed away. I'll set it up at some point and report back :)
What a brilliant idea. I wonder if this can be attached to a small wooden box for electric/acoustic tones using an electric guitar? Or just a different box to change the tone of your acoustic guitar. At $259, the price seems good.
Guess my Maton 808TE with both acoustic and pizo bridge pickups I would have to mute the acoustic mic, changing the sound of the guitar. Probably won't mount to my round back Ovation Adamas II guitar either. Oh well, already saved myself some money. It is a neat idea, if you can use it.
....it's got to be the street- side singer's dream.....no battery or amp to lug around....just guitar, a couple batteries....as long as your voice projects enough.....mine does..
If you have a built-in pickup, I don't see the draw. Get a nice acoustic amp. Roland cubes are great, and you don't need to sick it to your guitar. If this device didn't need a pickup, I would be impressed more.
The ToneWood Amp has been selling for more than 5 years now and available through dealers and distributors all over the world including myself in Canada.
I've noticed that many of these really good guitar players are like 6'1" and weight 108 pounds dripping wet. I mean look at this dude. His fingers are like little wires. Whenever I try to do a hammer on/pull off somewhere in the middle strings I always "catch" another string. I hate him. LOL!
Tried it, and it was a dud. The effects are there, but barely. Returned it with a 20% restocking fee, so it cost $50 to demo it and not like it. Don't believe the hype.
António Pereira could you expand on that? I've been looking at these and the Yamaha Transacousic for a while but am curious if the novelty wears off quickly.
I have an Epiphone J 200 with a lovely tone and I thougt that ToneWood Amp would give it an even more nice sound, it got a long time to sett it wright, but after the novelty expired, I prefer it without ToneWood Amp. And A few weeks ago I was trying it again when for my surprise I got a lot of screeches, nothing more. Because I live in Portugal I had to pay huge taxes for importing it, it cost me a lot of money. Its better to apply the value on something else.

Mike actually has the guitar magic. He's an awesome guitarist. Thank you for sharing.
I saw Mike in Oshkosh, Wisc in 2018 and purchased his CD. He is superb. I also own a ToneWood that I have on my Taylor 12-string -- wow, what a sound.
That is phenomenal, what a brilliant idea
Awesome playing and an awesome toy for me boost my playing again!!! Thanks!
That tone, heavenly

its cool to have just without plugging in the guitar into an amp around the house etc.

What if you want to use a looper as well?
How many times he said "changes the game"? Anyway, cool stuff.
mitokyo It's a drinking game. Take a shot every time he says "changes the game".
incredible technology
How does it attach magnetically to a wooden guitar?
Charles Lascari There is a magnet you mount to the inside of the acoustic.
....A magnet is attracted to steel/iron.....so a magnet on one side....and steel/iron on the other makes a strong bond....
Charles Lascari , magnet on other (inside) side of guitar.
Lol I knew someone was going to reply to this in a condescending manner

Cool little gadget.
Great product!
Awesome review

What acoustic was he using for the demo?
I wonder if they work with Ovations or carbon fiber guitars.
One question : what happens when you want to put the guitar in the guitar case?...you need to take it off and then back on again all the time!!...
Mains Blanches yeah but it’s just magnetic. Pop on and off. Not a big deal.
Gostei, porém aqui no Brasil não achei para comprar!
E qnd achar, já sabe né... $$$$$$$$$
Isso mesmo kkkk aqui é Brasil, muito caro
I just ordered this for my GS MINI will it still work? Will the X brace fit in the sound hole?
I asked them about that myself and they said yes it will
I love Muggle magic!
Did Yamaha just rip off your Tech?
yea i want 2 ofm

rone dee this is about accessibility and portability boss.
@@whatwhatinthabutt75 Ok sport!
Ok, playboy.
@@whatwhatinthabutt75 You peeked! ;)
Doesn't work on my 1982 Adamas!
This thing needs a magnetic or piezo pickup, which I don't have on my main guitar!!...
my guitar is acoustic. Do I have to make a hole for the cable?
Love mine. Just wish it could be used with rechargeable batteries.
FinalCurve - It can. I would suggest checking the Tonewood Amp website for more info.
The guy from Premier is inept and annoying but Mike is cool. Someone needs to teach him how to hold a mic.
seems like the guitarist is a fan of pierre bensusan!
I'm intrigued but fear the novelty might wear off after a few months.
The ToneWood Amp has been selling for more than 5 years now and available through dealers and distributors all over the world including myself in Canada.
Whoa
How about one you wear on your head like a hat and Bluetooth to everyone's phone? The future? LMFAO!!!!!
These go to eleven...

Sounds like crap weird ringing sound
The interviewer looks like he doesn't like his job.
I wish he'd play that instrument properly instead of spanking that plank!!
Probably not magnetically .......unless you're all resonatored up

Don't believe the hype.
And if you are playing many different guitars this could become frustrating!!...
Mains Blanches you can install an x-brace magnet in each guitar and then just move ur tonewoodamp from one guitar to another whenever
Unfortunately it was an investment that I did, that I've regretted.
