the 7 trick actually sort of has reason. it’s definitely not magic but he didn’t randomly pick a number. 7 is the most commonly guessed number between 1-10 in general. the math he shows you in the beginning never has any 7’s so your mind tries to think of a new number that hasn’t been mentioned. also you’ll notice that when you look at the card he holds up with “all of the possible numbers” it has all of the possibilities you can choose except for 7.
Because he gets you doing a lot of quick addition/subtraction, so when you see 5 and 12 you're very likely to think about the difference between them (12-5) and get 7. It's a stupidly transparent trick (if you can even call it a trick).

He then says pick between 5 and 12. 12-5=7 which is how he arrived on 7. That's also why he asks you not to think about it so he would get your first reaction. Brodrick Linder it only cancels it out if the numbers are the same. He said what age you were when you had your first kiss, and then you’d subtract the age of your first kiss. If you two were the same age then it would cancel, but for those that kissed anyone older or younger, ecen by 1 year, would ruin the equation.

The first one is a genuine psychological trick. The brain automatically thinks of the number that was not involved in any of the calculations, which, in that case, was seven. It's a pretty basic trick.

the 7 trick actually sort of has reason. it’s definitely not magic but he didn’t randomly pick a number. 7 is the most commonly guessed number between 1-10 in general. the math he shows you in the beginning never has any 7’s so your mind tries to think of a new number that hasn’t been mentioned. also you’ll notice that when you look at the card he holds up with “all of the possible numbers” it has all of the possibilities you can choose except for 7.

He then says pick between 5 and 12. 12-5=7 which is how he arrived on 7. That's also why he asks you not to think about it so he would get your first reaction.
