I'm curious...now that they've announced Fanhome will be taking over the Build-the-Enterprise-D subscription, will you be finishing the model? And would you warn off someone like me from starting this subscription from the beginning with Fanhome?

Definitly a fitting eulogy. However, there is a resurrection. Fanhome has picked up the license and you can continue where you left off soon.
It was for the best. It was a shoddily designed model at best with a ton of light leaks and overly complicated electronics. Best to save that money for Tomys Enterprise D. We all know it's coming.
What is "Tommys Enterprise D" ?
Surely as the enterprise is mirror image in some aspects, it might be possible to to complete by mirror imaging some of the pieces? A good 3D printer is cheaper than the model.

I was one of those people who were on the fence about subscribing because I wanted to see how the model turned out before I decided to pull the trigger. I'm really glad I didn't in the end because none of us saw the collapse of Eaglemoss on the horizon. I read something about a company stepping forward to take over Eaglemoss, but I don't know if that is going to come to fruition. It's sad, though. Eaglemoss did have something good going with the miniature starships collection.
Fanhome have bought the rights to continue production.
Sorry for the pain...but don't put that BIG box in the loft just yet Mr Danoby2.... apparently the former licensing head Ben Robinson hopes that particular model is picked up by another company. Use this spare time to hone your electrical skills!!

One of a kind eulogy for someone (among many others) that has been royally screwed. Curious to know, did anyone actually get to finish this build? Or did Eaglemoss even make the parts for a finish build?
Nobody finished the kit, the last issue sent out worldwide was 82 out of 120. The rest of the parts to finish the kit are reportedly still in China with the manufacturer.
Actual manufacturer of kits is Premium & Collectibles Trading LTD. UA-cam channel Eaglemodz might be worth checking out for more details. They have apparently secured rights to sell parts of at least their Back to the Future DeLorean and ECTO-1 kit parts, at least to existing subscribers. Somehow I doubt that CBS is as reasonable as certain other licensors.
That was certainly an awesome montage..Your right, the most expensive "incomplete kit" maybe/maybe not....of all time..hopefully when all the dust settles someone will pickup the Enterprise D build again.

I had both the Enterprise D build & the Ecto-1 build and I had issues with their logistics ability to send out the correct part kits. I told them to cancel my subscriptions to both model kits and that I would not be returning to them for future models. It was a huge waste of money and their customer service team was very unprofessional
yup...feel really bad for people who are stuck with what's left of their unfinished builds...
That does SUX Danoby2. Even though the tolerances weren't tight, and the lighting was a mess, it looked beautiful still and probably would have been extremely fulfilling to complete. RIP
It does look great when you take the extra time to get the panels in tight and light block the seams with aluminum tape.
Rumor has it that the Ferengi are considering backing Tomy, they're just waiting to see the final delivered Tomy 1701 Enterprise from TOS. As for what you have left from the Eagle moss 1701-D, maybe you can make lemonade out of lemons and build a nice battle damaged 1701-D diorama.
Its packed away for eternity, for now anyway.
It’s coming back soon now!! I heard that on the 24th of this month that it’ll be going on pre order for people to continue the kit.
I've moved on, no plans to ever continue the build. The excitement has left me.

There isn't enough to even make a decent space dock scene
this is why I dont get weekly/monthly build models just incase they are canceled I bet it would have looked really ace to (enterprise - D is my fave enterprise)
A youtube channel called Eaglemodz has contacted the actual manufacturer of model kit regarding other build part by part model kits that were distributed by Eaglemoss. Actual manufacturer of kits is Premium & Collectibles Trading Co. Apparently they have cleared the right to sell Back to the Future DeLorean kit and Ecto-1 at least to pre-existing subscribers. Dunno is CBS licensing as reasonable as right holders of Back to the Future and Ghostbusters, but might be worth checking out.
Round 2 Models has made clear their intention of buying Eaglemoss assets and continuing to ship kits to subscribers. Let's hope it works out!

I really wanted to get this kit. Almost pulled the trigger, but when it was all said and done it was going to be around $1,700 total.

Not gonna miss Eaglemoss. They had great sculpts but their paint work was abysmal. Misaligned windows etc. I imagine that’s what led to their demise.
What led to their demise was a over engineered lighting system to stretch out the build, not communicating with the their customer base, constant shipping delays, and inventory that was always out of stock.

WTF I just found this out now and I’ve been wondering about my subscription. I’ve been busy with work for the past couple of months and I can’t believe it. I wasted all this money for nothing. I haven’t even got to even 50 I might as well take what I have box it all up and bury it, this is a shame just to make it clear for myself. I am going to call EagleMoss Collectibles
That is sad. Normally, I stay away from any of those subscription kits, as I fear exactly this to happen. However, I subscribed to the Fanhome Iron Man Mark III build. It is not nearly as complicated. I think the order in which parts are put together is a bit...baffling. But I simply kept two big boxes and do not think much about it. Now I am three quarters through and really hope to finish without the publisher going bankrupt.
I already knew that this model was hyper complicated, plus it was the "wrong" Enterprise for me (I favor the original one, or the "A", for that matter). If it had been one of these...oh boy.
Now all you can hope for is that some company will take over the project.
The Enterprise A or Reliant would be AWESOME as a part work or a 1:350 from Tony. It would be difficult to capture the pearlescent Aztec paint scheme. When I ordered the Tomy TOS enterprise their representative told me stay tuned as they have other ships in mind for next next year when I asked about the A and Reliant. Round 2 said they can’t make a 1:350 Reliant because they can’t get a hold of the production model to capture all the details (not as much of an issue with their smaller kit) -I hope Tomy can get around this.
EAGLEMOSS should of listened to their customers they might not be in the mess they put themselves in and they can quote me on this
I'd get a 3d printer and fill in the blanks. Given you're already about $1000$1200 into the build it would be a shame to just throw it away. Print the remainder in 4 sections and complete it. Many other modelers might just pay you for similar parts
C'mon man! Geordie La Forge took 20 years to bring the "D" back to life in Picard season 3. Surely it won't take you that long to scrounge all the missing parts for your magnificent build.

@Danoby2 I feel like star trek hurt you on a personal level. Terry matalas did an excellent job reinventing star trek without the taint of Alex kurtzman. S3 of picard is the only good modern trek out there sadly. I understand your feelings about it.

I heard that maybe the manufacturer itself might take up the rest of the orders. Isn't Eaglemoss more of a distributor than the actual manufacturer of this products? Isn't this manufactured by the same company that does the Hachette collections Mazinger Z?

The Chinese manufacturer is owned by PCT ( PREMIUM COLLECTIBLES & TRADING CO). They have obtained the web domains and the IP. They also own IXO models for distribution. Licencing still needs to be sorted as well as how to handle the US market..

that's awful for those that have half completed models, fortunately there's lots of different model manufactures out there, i guess you could build your own ship out of fiber glass if you have the right skill set
If only I found this funny well a little might have to do adiorama of my enterprise d or get Ian Campbell from partwork upgrades to start 3d printing. All is not lost I hope ixo collections are looking to take some of the licensing. I'm not happy neither a model I cant finish that's part of my childhood memory's and being an hardcore trekkie too please please someone beam up from this nightmare

I had a feeling this _D_ thing they were doing was a bad idea. Glad I didn't subscribe to it. I didn't expect Eaglemoss to go under, I just hated the way the model looked. It's not at all accurate, and not worth the money they were asking.
