The vent on the bridge section that has the black insert isn't supposed to have an LED. It won't light up with that black insert. It was something we all were confused about the first time this kit came out because there's a space for an LED to go in there but it can't light up. Plus those vents aren't supposed to light up at all so no one was sure why they even had LEDs for those. It's inaccurate.
Thank you for sharing. TNG came out when I was a kid and fell in love with the D when I first saw her. I wish the price wasn't so expensive. I'd have a difficult time explaining to my wife 2 grand going to a model. I will let you know, I've watched a few other UA-camrs build the same and they didn't like the massive amount of wiring that go into the ship.
I never actually saw this kit but I've heard a lot of people talk about it. It's much higher quality, larger, and more detailed than I was imagining (did not think the body was going to be metal), but the total cost across all the stages is like $2,000 which is still pretty steep for something you "get to" put together yourself.
Not quite that much. Have to check with them about your area. The parts I put together were heavy, so the whole thing must weigh a ton. Looking forward to it.
Also? The cost is NOT the point....the process of building IS the point. It's the satisfaction of making something. This is a VERY complex model, and in a factory would require HUGE man-hours, so a finished product would be WAY more than $2000. Heck, at Disney you can buy a full-sized R2-D2 "working" replica, for only $25,000.
@@timduggan1461 I agree the putting it together is the point. That's why I'm tempted, but I still think it's overpriced even factoring in the Experience. I don't think it would be more than maybe 4-5k for an assembled version of that quality with assembly line scaling.
my biggest issue, besides the price, is that I have to wait 3 years to have this completed. What? There should be an option to have more packages delivered at once than waiting so long

"Their". Also? Let's think about cost and prices. IF you wanted this fully assembled multi-part finished model? Consider the man-hours required. The POINT of these kits is?!? Build it yourself, and achieve satisfaction.
I saw a different builder assemble the ship. And the windows were each separate pieces. The windows on this ship are much better. And the installation is easier, can't lose a window. Love this model. I would order a kit if it was the Refit Enterprise.
Only the windows of few stages like the one you see here are on a single piece of plastic, the rest of the windows of the saucer section are separate pieces.
Well, that was an excellent first start. I like their effort in creating all the little individual portholes that are cut out and they did it in metal, good job. That's going to be a heavy finished product I can tell. good luck and, Make it so.
Just started the Enterprise. Looking forward to seeing the final product. According to Fanhome there are 31 shipments! That's 2 1/2 years to complete..... Wish they would send every two weeks verses every four weeks. Thus far there is only 1 magazine in the packages (I have received two) and the construction and reading time takes only a few days..... Hopefully they increase the Star Trek ships and decrease the shipments. I'd rather get double or even triple in a shipment.....
@@YourGeekFix You might want to go back and remove the LED you installed at 16:00 (the one on the black 'windows'). According to the magazine, it isn't installed there. Or do you know something we don't know?
$2,000 ?!?!? Across 31 "issues" ??? And *I* have to put it all together ? INSANITY ... ABSOLUTE INSANITY. Look, just send ME all that money rather than wasting it on a freaking MODEL, because you obviously have no clue whatsoever of the value of a dollar.
I started this model with Eagle moss and got to Kit #76 before they went under last year. This model is goofy and over engineered. Some pieces are plastic. Some are metal. Seems arbitrary which ones are and aren't. Not everything fits well. The light bleed is horrendous. You've got to spend a lot of extra time carefully masking the joints off. The wiring is a pain in the rear. So many wires. Every section has 2 to 3 LED's. By the time the saucer section is complete, we're talking 100's of wires. No external power. The nacelles, star drive and saucer section have their own batteries. I have no idea how this thing would have been able to stand if completed. I would say I was about 2/3rds of the way complete with this model. It sat in a box for almost a year. I sold online for a fraction of what I spent on it. Was 1200 dollars into it. Despite all the problems, this was totally fun to build. I was angry at Eaglemoss for not keeping their act together. I regret for not having completed it and selling it. My advice. If you're going to do it, just get all the kits at once. Make sure you have all the parts and then build at your own pace. Not worth waiting around. Fanhome probably won't state in business for long.
$55 per package and they have 31 packages. they are smoking crack. lol Thats about 1700 total. I would just rather 3d print a custom sized one, especially With the horrible light bleeds and with the 1st part already having issues (port side black vents on the bridge arent supposed to glow). From what I saw from other channels this model has a lot of quality issues with the molding.
Really wish they would sell all the kits at once, after what happened with Eagle Moss I'm nervous that ill ket half way through and then it'll disappear. I ordered the subscription from Eagle Moss got 2 stages in the n eagle moss folded. It's Diagustini model. It was distributed by Eaglemoss as well as Fanhome. These models have been around for years. Fanhome offered to let people from Eaglemoss finish their build through them.
I have to say if you want this it's your money but as a model builder that's been building Star Trek kits for over 30 years, this kit is shaped wrong in so many areas. I don't care how big it is, I'd never spend that kind of money on a model that's not accurate. The general shape of the parts is just a crud/bad copy of what the studio model looks like.
@@YourGeekFix I didn't know that, but they still got a lot of the shape wrong. The bridge/shuttle bay is the perfect example, on the real model it's a nice, rounded curve at the edges but on this kit, it goes straight up on an angle before turning and becoming flat. The base of the neck is why to squared off; it's missing the gentle curve the real model has. I'm wondering if they had to make compromises due to the nature of the molding process for the parts. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the build, but this kit just isn't for me personally.
This model has a lot of problems. It has so many LEDs for almost every window. Also use a lot of coin batteries that only last about four hours of use and too many light licks.
@@YourGeekFix I was going to but like always, I check other model builders first to know if it is worth building. It costs a lot of money, you know. Every single video I watch the guys advice not to unless you know about how to make the model connect to an electrical outlet and to change the LEDs to LEDs strips to reduce the amount of cables in the primary deck. Let me see if I can find a video about the scandal from the company that created it.

I think i just found my next birthday gift from my wife...only need to give her s subtle hint.
How long will it take for you to receive the entire ship?
I'm actually not sure. The last two models I did took two years. However, it went fast.
It's like 30 something issues. So can you buy them all at once? or do you really have to wait 2½ years to complete it.
It's 25 months. There is an option in some countries to buy all at once.
hehe 1:41 there is a small refit enterprise model in the background
Lol
I wish fan home would do the original enterprise
Me too!
Now, can you buy one fully assembled?
That large?
@@YourGeekFix ya
What's the total cost is what I would like to know.
Depends on what country, when you start, if you use a coupon code, and if it is eligible for single purchase.
@@YourGeekFix I'm in the U.S. I may be able to get a coupon code, not sure. What makes a buyer eligible for a single purchase? Thanks for the reply.
@SackyX in the US we don't have single purchase yet. Says Coming soon! Type in Google fanhome coupon code with the month
@@YourGeekFix Ah thank you, forgive my ignorance.
@SackyX no, I get a coupon code that way.
So seems like this is the defunked Eaglemoss Build the Enterprise model. Not sure if it's exactly the same, but sure looks like it. I was building that model, then Eaglemoss went belly up. Am hesitant doing this song and dance all over again, unless I can just buy the entire model all at once.
It's Diagustini model. It was distributed by Eaglemoss as well as Fanhome. These models have been around for years. Fanhome offered to let people from Eaglemoss finish their build through them.
Can I hot drop the saucer section into a planetary surface
Someone made a Diorama with it all scorched.
Yeah i will stick to AMT ,,,,,way for affordable
and more affordable
When are they going to do a 1/1000 scale version
Idk
I have to say if you want this it's your money but as a model builder that's been building Star Trek kits for over 30 years, this kit is shaped wrong in so many areas. I don't care how big it is, I'd never spend that kind of money on a model that's not accurate. The general shape of the parts is just a crud/bad copy of what the studio model looks like.
It was designed by the same model maker.
@@YourGeekFix The same model maker as what?
@@James-rn7dx Andy Probert designed the enterprise d for the show as well.
@@James-rn7dx understandable
PLEASE make one of the Thunderbird vehicles.
Me or Fanhome? I think Vinz just got one.
@@YourGeekFix You. It would be such an awesome project. Especially like thunderbird 2 or 5
This model has a lot of problems. It has so many LEDs for almost every window. Also use a lot of coin batteries that only last about four hours of use and too many light licks.
Do you have this model?
@@YourGeekFix
I was going to but like always, I check other model builders first to know if it is worth building.
@@YourGeekFix
I found the video.
The model is amazing, as long as you don't use the lights.

@@LuisVazquez-hx3bkif you find the video, can you link it? I'd be interested in watching it as well.
No, thanks, I have to pay for rent, heat, and food next month.
I guess it's nice you have that much disposable income, but most of us can't afford extravagant projects like this.
I agree. Collecting is not for the faint of heart. That's why there are videos to experience the whole thing regardless. Thanks for watching Caseytify!
Or you could just drop the negativity and get a better paying job to join the rest of society who don't make poor life choices like you did
Like I'm going to keep watching, maybe one day you'll get everything at once then assemble and do a review but to have to wait, nope, I'll pass on this channel!
@@Andru92-96 ok. What are you interested in? Star Trek? We have exclusive info on the wand companies tricorder. Fanhome, we will be first to release info on their newest models released next month. Let me know what you like. Or, you can also pass.
$2000.00? Seems a bit excessive, it’s not even diecast.
It's funny how the price goes up with every comment.
@@YourGeekFix I just did some simple arithmetic and rounded to the nearest whole number. regardless +/-$50 it’s still overpriced imo.

These sort of kits r the biggest scam in the galaxy.
Why waste time and money? Buy a complete kit instead, much cheaper and less hassle with probable equal if not better quality.
If you say so. You could also print one. Kind of a big size.
It’s not worth it to me. I started this kit back during covid. Then Eaglemoss went out of business. I have a half completed saucer and that’s it. If anyone wants to buy my half and continue on their own, feel free to contact me.
There you go.
You should be able to continue the build through FanHome if you wanted to
@@MicahPotts I can’t afford to. That’s my point. I had the money at the time. I don’t now. Now I just have a half completed project I’ll never be able to finish.
@@jimlight5137 well, these things are going for high numbers on eBay, even incomplete models, so there are options
@@MicahPotts had I known I may have selected to buy that one rather than the ET I baught.
Where is rest video
They haven't sent me more I requested and they are considering it qs v2 is being released soon

2K is a bunch of crap.
It is, because that's not the price
@@YourGeekFix then what is the price?
@ericerickson592 Depends on where you live. The first and last box have only two stages. There are only 100 stages. The first box is like a dollar a stage in the US.
