I've been watching all your reviews on this new Batman figure and I would have to say this is your most challenging review yet, especially when you were comparing the new Batman figure with the Enterbay one, for me the Enterbay one is the winner as that one has the more pluses and the Hot Toys one just got to many minuses for me.
I caved in the end after watching every review on UA-cam I could find. What won me over in the end was the Cowell, and the belt it doesn’t have those annoying magnets. You can attach accessories to the utility belt without living in fear of things falling off. But the straw that broke the camels back was seeing the figure in the Jaxon Xu cape... It blew me away. So ended up ordering HT 1/4 Batman Begins and the Jaxon cape. Now I’ve just gotta wait til Saturday to get my Enterbay 1/4 Batman 🤪🤪🤪

Dean wonderful review, as always! I haven't been in the game as long as you and know if it's possible but since the stand unfortunately already damaged the suit would you be able to paint it a matte black to make it more screen accurate or have a commission done on it? Again I wouldn't know if it would turn out or not your more of a expert. Also I don't.know how.you feel about changing that much of the figure.

A genuine mixed bag! The proportions are great (the chest and backside are a lot better than Enterbay's - the arse on that one is like a tank!!); the side profile looks bang on; articulation is decent; and the 'first night out' look is terrific - the likeness to Bale, whilst donning the balaclava, looks spot on. That's how I would pose mine.
I really do not like the shiny finish. it cheapens the figure to my eyes. The Enterbay kills it here because it seems to absorb the light rather than reflecting it, making Batman melt into the nights sky. Obviously the gauntlets are a nuisance. The accessories are a little tight. And that bloody groin stand!! I'm sure that a man with your resourcefulness will find a way to mitigate it, but the point is that you shouldn't have to.
Overall, it feels like a slap-dash effort on HT's part, which is very disappointing considering the popularity of the film, the iconic character, that it's the 10 year anniversary of TDK, and the high price point. You'd expect HT's to pull out all of the stops here. I wonder who the project director was for this figure? One things for sure, had it been a certain Dean Knight, he would have put the HT's employee in the shade.

I totally agree although it’s a nice figure nonetheless. I used my Enterbay stand on my Hot Toys Batman right out of the box cause the Enterbay suit won’t damage unlike the Hot Toys one.

Excellent review as always... mine is on preorder. Still love the Beast though and thoroughly regret selling it.... However this will make an excellent addition to the Bats collection. :)
Great review, easy pass to tell you the truth. And batman begins is in my top 5 favorite films of all time. It might even be my favorite.

The QS001 had the round bomb/grenade for when he gave it to Blake to use before he shot a hole to free the cops, but yeah, this should've included it as well, but since you have both 1/4 figures, at least you can swap whenever.
Thumbs up, great honest review like aways. Sorry about the scratch on the crotch area, that alone is a broke the deal for me along with the cape . As you, I love the Batman begins movie and oufit.
Dean would you not buy back the original 1/6 begins piece? With a custom head and velvet cape it’s pretty much a shrunk down version of the 1/4 enterbay would you not say?

Hi Dean, I can't even get the neck post off mine to replace the heads. Have scratched it up a little bit trying to pry it off with a screwdriver... Any tips?? Yours seemed to just come off with no fuss at all.

Enterbay is just better between the 2 begins suits :) But my favorite is still the dark knight/rises suit :) Love that it is the only batsuit which is NOT a complete rubber/material suit. It consists of material and plates which allows more articulation and options!
I'm about to purchase this next month do you recommend it or take the NECA instead... Coz I'm worried about damaging the suit... But this is one of my fave suit of Batsy. More power to you sir and best of luck! 😁
Enterbay piece is still the best BB item to be released. glad i was finally able to get one relatively cheap.

What if you used the protective sleeve the head came in to stop the bleaching?
From when the first photos of this guy were shown on display, I didn't see it outshining the Beast. Still a cool piece, and would be sweet in 1/6th. The Bale head looks great in most angles, but are some points it reminds me of Jordan Schlansky from the Conan O'Brien show (an odd reference i know lol). The face does look like the "fatman" stage of the character as Bale referred to himself as. It is accurate though haha.

Amazing review dean! Honestly I just bought the DX12 & I was going to buy this but I think I’ll save for the 1/6 version. I like the mat black look more. Although with the harness & bale head sculpt together this figure looks flawless! Keep up the amazing work
Oh my god...what were they thinking about the stand and the rubbing issue? This is crazy....totally weak of them. Thank four the thorough review - it will help all following people to take care especially on the stand situation. I though about adding a 1/4 scale batman fig down the road to have at least one 1/4 incarnation of Batsy like I do with my other collection lines where I have min. one 1/4 piece per franchise...but it won't be this one, too many cons.

Dean, have you ever considered removing some of the padding under the suit around the abs of 'The Beast'? I did it on mine and it looks a lot better, making the chest stick out over stomach and making the body look more svelte and less tubby. Others have done similar things (1/4 liposuction?) for the huge rear, though that looks a little more difficult and risky to do.
Hey Dean, 2 quick questions: Regarding the horrible gauntlets on this 1/4 HT BB, do you think there’s anyway to just glue them into place? Maybe even using some black electrical tape on the inside to keep the parts from moving. Also, what’s the difference between the BB boots and TDK boots 1/6?
I'll just pose the figure so you wont see the ugly part of the gauntlets. I think the boots are pretty much the same.

Awesome video and nice figure! Love the christian bale head sculpt, but the qc issues on some of these hot toys figures is just annoying like the stand damaging the suit wtf but still a cool figure nonetheless!

Goddam you Hot Toys! Why the hell did those guys not fix that before they released the figure. It seems odd when they miss stuff like this when the figure has been in development for almost a year. Also with the gauntlets maybe just glue them shut and call it a day?

Make a smaller mask. Turn the black mask inside out.then place or stitch the protective one you made over it. Turn back the right way. Then bingo..

Enterbay has a nice suit finish, but there's not enough bulk. I also find the Enterbay head(s) to look too skinny. Hot Toys just looks more beastly to me. The Enterbay grumpy face looks more mopey and sad in my opinon.
If you wash the mask a few times in a lingerie bag, you’ll probably be able to have him wear it permanently without it dying the face. The bag will protect the mask from getting wrecked in the wash and you’ll be able to wash some of the colour out of it.
Someone needs to 3d print the clips and custom capes with better magnets

The 1/6 looks great from what I’ve have seen once you have a custom head and cape, basically a shrunk down 1-4 enterbay
Sorry about your HT Batman Dean that’s really unfortunate. Thanks so much for making this video I used the Enterbay stand and base for the Hot Toys right out of the box and I used that damn crotch grabber stand and base for my Entetbay, but I bent the shit out of the crotch grabber stand to make it go more forward and out of the way so to avoid any damage. Again thanks buddy if it were not for you taking the risk people like me wouldn’t know! And FUCKING SHAME ON HOT TOYS THESE THINGS ARE RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE AS IT IS, GET YOUR FUCKING ACT TOGETHER HOT TOYS!!
The Enterbay doesn’t look as good as it did years ago. The cowl on the EB is blegh. HT is a step towards progress

awesome review ive watched it about 10 times and I gotta tell you im really thinking about eating the 50 dollar deposit on this and canceling I was soooo looking forward to this piece but there really are enough flaws to say WTF are you thinking hot toys in the states this piece is going around 475 dollars and the thought of laying out another 425 just doesent sit well with me between the cape not falling properly and the non moving eyes and the real deal breaker for me the gauntlets I know you can customize but for 500 bucks I want to take it out of the box put the cape on and say WOWWWW ha ha sorry just ranting thought id share my thoughts
Hottoys action figures actually are statues like.There's not much articulation or possibilities for posing..Another thing I have notice are the proportions because the head of Batman Begins figure is too big.Apart from that most of its figures looks amazing

Thanks for this review! Just got this figure today and, using a couple pieces of foam that came in the inner packaging which I then covered with black electrical tape, padded the crotch support so it won’t scratch up the thighs. Thanks for the heads up on that one!
UPDATE: electrical tape also fixes the gauntlets. Just apply a strip firmly to each side inside both gauntlets, leaving just enough to wrap around and secure along the outer edge. Once it’s in place it holds everything together and isn’t noticeable 👍🏻👌🏻😎
Maybe you can just put a plastic wrap on bale's head then leave the mask on?
Questions, why not experiment on the neca Batman Begins figure, you know like paint it matte black and getting your hands on a custom cape would it not be your ultimate Batman? PS I'm going to find myself a neca Batman and if you sort yourself out with a cape let me know. Keep up the great work.

Get a Tamiya Clear Coat spray can, matte finish (TS-79). Should do the job.
the problem with this figure is that the batman dark knight rises 1/4 is a excellent figure…. is perfect, and all are waiting that this figure was same… but its a really good figure

I’m not gonna lie I am very frustrated that I sold off My 2 enterbay dark nights In anticipation for this shit. At this point I think I am done pre-ordering quarter scale figures and just wait till they come out to decide whether not to pick them up. Disgusting and careless on hot toys part , no excuse after three times of releasing this figure and all the references the could possibly have over the years from other companies attempts at this figure to do this. I’m officially going to cancel my preorder on this figure and attempt to purchase in enterbay version again for the third time

Thank you Dean soo much man I'm sure now that I cant forgive those cons at this figures price point. Anyone who's saying it beats the beast has never seen the enterbay in person. H.T should have given props to the enterbay and instead make a Ben Affleck 1/4 as this would have given them the opportunity to do a drape down cape for that's the look he has .Idn I'll keep the beast and get the 1/4 joker
